Thinking about it even if you did mention it most people would understand hope you had a lovely christmas tg and that santa was good to you .
-
Yes i know its a busy time of year but they think they would be there its terrible as you say its the garages way to make a living . Then someone comes along and takes that from them
-
Right old merry Christmas right enough hopefully you will source one and get it sorted

No and to be honest I've just not read the post correctly and just have and checked the dates mileage etc and now I stand corrected was doing some last minute Christmas shopping and scanning through on my phone whilst in Tesco picking up some last minute Christmas dinner bits earlier you are of course correct in this case when you read it property why would anyone clock a car by 1000 miles it like you say Is more likely what you say been an admin error with someone hitting the wrong digit on keyboard on entry Also though thinking and generally speaking when read through Tony's post he is of course correct that not warranted mileage should not cover a vehicle which genuinely did have an incorrect mileage reading on it I've seen blatant ones in the past granted not very often when it has been put mileage not warranted and you check the mot history and its thousands of miles out which really should be stated incorrect rather than not warranted or in which case the mileage can be proved incorrect due to various services etc you would be within your rights to ask for a refund I would think if the mileage was stated not warranted and the turned out to be incorrect have a good holiday season nick

As mentioned above I guess it should have been sold mileage incorrect instead of not warranted but then they would argue they didn't know but would still. Try for a refund

Same thing happened at my old work a few years ago recently new built garage exact same entry method cut the roller shutter got away with an estate car and snap on box full of tools and a clarke box full of cheaper tools that got recovered along with other bits and bobs but the snap on one was never found and the car was found torched was around this time of year too

Just like david said basically insurance and tax are seperate trade plates cover tax for test drives etc to park on the street overnight on a main council owned road etc you need tax on the car insurance motortrade would cover for both trade and private would recommend in your circumstances to always add the car to the database .

Had the same thing on a 2001 golf tdi once many years ago its a pain isn't it in-fact i think that is why the previous owner got rid of the golf because of the water leak

Unless it's had a recent service I'd do an oil and filter change with the correct oil grades etc stick a flush through it and then check the levels are correct might be worth a go and can't do any harm keep us posted -
Your right about that Mark I agree with you there it's the old mileage myth thing isnt it customer thinks it falls apart after 50 k and its game over at over 100k but like you as my personal transport I'd rather have the 100 k mileage motorway cruiser than the 50k town car ..
-
Sound advice and may I add to it don't give up its hard at the start with you will always get the jack the lads telling you there making a fortune you will at some point buy a wrong it happens to everyone it's how you resolve it that matters good luck
-
It's a good idea actually . anytime I played and stopped the numbers came up not the big one obv but the hot picks etc for a few hundred pound but I tell myself I've saved more by not playing have a good Christmas and new year David your family also
-
Then there is the argument that the 40k miles car is no worst if not better than the 10k one that's been toddled around by the old biddy going to to the shops when my elderly father who doesn't drive now had a car and was doing 2.5 k miles a year it done the car more harm than it did good sitting about ..
-
What about putting on a Euromillions ticket David lol no more cars
-
I guess It's the same for every business and every job you get rewards if you put in the hard work suppose for a lot of us it's all we really know but I'm friends with a couple of people that spring to mind one has a haulage business and does ok due to his hard work in a difficult industry and also one who has a plant hire and property development business again does well because he puts the work in yet I've seen others in both industries that fail like I have people in the motor trade over the years due to not putting the work in but whatever road you go down I wish you all the best
-
It's really all about trial and error mate have a good Christmas Richard
