  1. Not in my old skool SLK or S55K or Mels C Class or any other of our Vehicles Plate Flippers are a cool mod, not that I'd ever use them on the Highways Of course this is all happening sooner than we'd like, but it's on target for my prediction a while back, which was we'll all be in fully autonomous nanny state electric fart boxes by 2028 Fucking world full of Control Freak Governments and Tree Hugging Twats !! Democracy & Freedom is rapidly becoming a thing of the past ................... Of course, my older collection of Cars will end up off the road, either due to legislation or lack of spares manufacture, then will be the time to chuck the towel in I love Cars, and I love Driving, safely but enthusiastically, I can't be that much of an idiot, I've not had more than my regular 3 points for a long long time, but on a deserted open road, with no houses etc, hell yeah, my Cars get lit up !! And on that note, I had the misfortune to be following tourists today in my Van, fuckin loads of 'em up here now, I swear the winters are getting shorter, 30 mph or less on 60 mph A roads and still braking at ever minor bend ................. Goddam hour just to get to Broadford because of these arseholes who can't drive Next Project, 550 hp Supercharged M113 V8 in a SWB W639 Vito If I'd been in one of the Cars I could have got past all of the morons taking photo's of rainy mountains holding their I Phones outta the windows whilst driving ......................... Where are the Feds when you want them
  2. I'd love a quiet day to catch up on some of my own jobs Seen that one, tbh I'm not exactly sure which one is the biggest twunt
  3. LOL, I've been working on all makes for most of my 42 years in this trade, and if ever anything was gonna be a "piece of bite your arse give you hassle and aggro to work on and get correct parts for pile of shit" it's a VAG Product ................. Yeah it's got worse in more recent years, but they were still fuckin' dog turds a waaaaay back
  4. and Electric "Johnny Cabs"
  5. Cheers for follow up. They really aren't worth the hassle, you'll be waiting for that "Since I bought my Car off you .............." phone call
  6. Hi @TangoVictor32 Is it more than 7 seats ? IIRC I once got asked that on my V Class test, that has a double Seat in the front left, and 5 in the back, maybe the Seats make a difference, but this was a few years ago before the rule changes last year I just took one of the rear seats out at test time, they un latch really easy
  7. LOL, yeah I knew that, but I honestly hadn't given it a thought I know ignorance is no excuse, and I know I would've got done, I just got lucky. Throughout my life I have taken the piss against authority where I could, but these days I do my best not to, as I am old enough now to know to quit while I'm ahead That's why I'm not taking the 3.5 tonner to Glasgow to pick up an 1855 kg S Class next weekend, the Car is sat on it's bump stops right now, so un driveable. I know the Sprinter would carry it OK, but I don't need the potential hassle of getting tugged, impounded, fined etc etc My buddy who owns that steel bodied Sprinter carries a fuckin great V8 powered Drift Car on it every weekend, with loads of wheels and spares etc and has never got tugged I'm gonna drive down there next Saturday in my Workshop Van, (kitted out), then I'll do a good temporary repair on it's Air Suspension pipe, and give it a once over, make sure it'll do the 120 miles, then I'll come home and get a lift down the following w/e and drive it back I'll quite enjoy the adventure and meeting new people in our trade, I don't venture outta our little hamlet that often these days
  8. OOOOO Errrrrrrr ............... Are you on Windows, or a fancy phone ??
  9. It'll likely be "the nut behind the steering wheel" I once had one who said the bonnet wouldn't open ................ Also, the Filler Flap didn't stay shut .............. Curiously enough at the exact time they tried to open the bonnet the fuel flap opened
  10. @Mark101 Try it now lolololol
  11. Not if you are not using the Car for Business Purposes it won't ........... Vehicles and mileages etc are the first thing HMRC look at during Audit !!
  12. /\ /\ /\ LIKE ........... Exactly This And the new MOT will have mileage and date on it
  13. So does @Mark101 I suppose me being a mod on another forum helps, I know how all the little bitties work I still don't know how to get my LIKE button back tho Your Notifications will say xxxxxx "Mentioned" instead of "Quoted" etc You might have both now Mark ........... Look in your "bell" at the top right of CDM Page
  14. I had this years ago, get this stated categorically to the insurer by letter, recorded and first class post, (send 2 identical letters), then legally they "have been served" Agree with Nick, another similar Car, someone has written the number down wrong, typo etc etc, but fact is once it's "in the system" etc etc it can be an absolute nightmare
  15. Same experience in Kent over 20 years ago when we wanted to move from a 1000 sq ft leased unit to much bigger, so we bought a derelict freehold unit with some ground, good steel frame, and we totally refurbed it with all new insulated cladding, new roller shutters, new wiring, lighting, carseys, plus new lifts, etc etc
  16. Yep That worked I got the "Oi You !!" message straight away
  17. Just look at all the 3.5t Recovery Trucks you pass, now we all have this at the forefront right now, I'll bet most of them are overweight .............. I just don't understand how we don't see more getting pulled in !! Hell I've done it myself a lot, when I bought my C Class I brought it back on the 3.5t Steel Bodied Sprinter, From Canterbury to NW Scotland, around 700 miles, at that time I didn't give it a thought !! @NickGCS was very lucky, I bet if that were me I'd have got FUBAR 'd Or am I just getting less bold in my old age lol
  18. Even a limited company can sell something at a loss if it's been in stock for a while, it's called "clearance", however, as, (if you were Ltd), it is "your company" to avoid the evil eye at audit time I would suggest buying it at a very small profit !! As you are not Ltd I fully agree with Arfur
  19. Yes Simon I type @Arf and up pops a box with your name and avatar, click that box and in goes the link ............. @Arfur Dealy Try mine by typing @Dav and you'll see me and some other Dave's
  20. I cannae remember them either now Simon, but perhaps @BHM will be along and he may remember
