No need to say it needs trailering away? £3500 is a cheapie, but is retail and comes with a warranty from here.
-
Nowhere near. But we do have indoor toilets. And it is 2021, not 2001.
-
Markets changed. 1500 and under is scrap. Cheapies are up to 4k.

Bollocks. Absolute Bollocks. Selling sub 5k involves a new MOT and a service, thats enough to keep most punters happy. As for 'paying by credit card and knowing all about CRA 15', thats shit. They either have the cash, borrow off family or Finance it. Might get asked every now and again about credit card but thats normally a parent trying to get extra points when buying their kids a car. Cant remember the last time I got quoted CRA 15. That only happens if youve ignored a lunatic asking for your help. I help them if its needed, they appreciate it and never grumble.

if its young enough, go to the main dealer and manufacturer warranty takes care of it. If its older, the warranty that was provided with the car covers it. No warranty? I'd imagine the customer is then reminded they declined the offer of a 12 month warranty at £xxx, so they are on their own.

Asking BCA staff to look at a car with no Assured Report

Dont email them, ring them!!!!! -
What was your previous name?

A service at a main dealer, halfords, anywhere a customer goes is all about checking and upselling. What actually needs doing to keep the car running well is the oil filter, then sometimes air and fuel filters, plugs. The rest of it is optional really. The customer pays the main dealer or independent to complete a checklist to say, good, fair or fucked for a series of components. Pretty much like an MOT....
-
I dont fully service, but an oil and filter change, plus the MOT, covers most bases. That counts as 'just serviced and MOT'd in my book.£30 MOT, £35 oil and filter, then whatever else it fails on. Joe Public thinks thats 300 quid plus. Build value, great help when advertising too. But I dont disagree BHM, on an 11 year old car, its probably the last time that it will get done

hes on the facebook t2t pages, martin moore. 07446888385. He can (apparently) get anything taxed. I needed a car taxing on a disabled reg doc on a sunday. He did it. charges about £50.
-
When you sell it and need to get it taxed; Call Martin the taxman Then post the blue V5 with customer detail to DVLA. He can tax anything!

Laugh? Probably

I wouldnt put more money into AT in a month like december to boost sales. it's normally one of the quietest months in the year. if its dead on sales, concentrate on Advert improvement rather than just spending more. Videos, updating photos, price checking etc. if all that is in hand, sit tight and they will come when they've stopped worrying about being ready for Xmas.

xc60. Normally looked after by their owners beforehand.

What happens to the paper V5 when registering a new keeper online?
MattR replied to MJG50's topic in General Dealer Chat
give the yellow slip to the customer to send. Their responsibility, only themselves to blame if something goes wrong. And tell tehm to post it. it will also show taxed on the dvla website still for a few days, which may be helpful to you if youre tight on storage space! -
if its a brand new car (ie unregistered), how have you got a v5?
-
Encourage the bank transfers, most will do it. My card machine gets used more for deposits than anything else now, but for anyone who does online banking on their phone (and it may be more than you think) I encourage deposits that way too. Its your money, add up how much it would cost to process your turnover each year using a card machine and you'll feel sick.

I ask them to wear one when I book them in. I've had 3 claim exemption so far. Fine, the time indoors will be absolutely minimal and certainly less than the 15 minutes which attracts the attention of the track and trace people. Not an issue for those that have booked in, still get the occasional walk on but they will put it on if asked. Ive had to give a couple out to people claiming to have forgotten them. I dont think mask wearing will stop the virus, but it will do more than nothing at all, so thats a good start for me.

Hi Salt Welcome to the forum, a great source of info. You come across as a nice chap, make sure youre not too nice to the punters or they will walk all over you. How much space do you have? If you only have 4 cars in stock, in all reality you will only sell 2-3 cars a month. If youve got space, try and make the cash stretch to 8-10 cars, then youve a chance of earning a living. Fiestas are 10 a penny, (and at the moment book quite high compared to other small cars) so you'll need to be very competitive on price, have excellent pics and have good reasons to pick yours (be it history, ownership, colour etc) to even get the phone to ring. I think the hybrids you have are a bit odd ball but then I've never had one. There's good opportunities by sifting the private ads (facebook etc) if you find auctions tough. Good Luck

Thats nuts. 100 cars = 5 grand. I've got a mazda going out in 15 minutes. Fuel light isnt just on, its flashing. I don't want a call 2 minutes after he's left saying its run out, so, being the generous soul I am, Ive just got a fuel can out of the shed and put half in. That'll get him to Asda.
-
I've been wearing one when with customers since June. Its fine and works as a visual reminder for them to keep away from you. Customer goes, throw it in the bin and put a new one on when another turns up. Theyre peanuts now on Amazon, about £5 for 50.
-
I sell mine with whats in it. If you've put any in, it should only be enough to cover test drives, and a trip to the workshop. I've not had anyone expect anymore than enough to get them to Asda a mile down the road. Occasionally they ask for more, but its not stopped anyone from buying.
-
Exactly that. On a 40% tax bracket job and already thinking about warranty pots and paying back Director Loans? Johnny, if you sell those 2 tomorrow, you then have no stock. The more stock you have, the more opportunities you have, the more credibility you have. If youre selling 2 -4 k cars you have a worst case scenario of a 4k buy back, and thats not very likely if you're prepping right. You're talking like your accountant. More cars = more sales = more profit. Hassle will come with that, but youre unlikely to get hit with a multitude of warranty claims that require a 'warranty pot'. I believe there are some tax advantages to having one, but its going to be minimal compared to just using the money to buy more stock.

A James Bush customer if ever I've heard of one. How did he even think it might be possible??
