  1. I am dealing with them now on a gearbox issue, I am having to chase them up quite a bit.
  2. The issue here is the log book, for a private sale you should have the V5 in your name. If it does go further then it could be classed as a trade sale. Either ignore him or come to some sort of settlement maybe?
  3. The local ones round my way are shit, and a lot of them have attitude problems. I actually do most of my valeting, I cannot find a decent reliable one. The only one I do know has put his prices up.
  4. If its low miles, with good history and low ownership and the roof works OK I would sort the bodywork and give it a proper valet and sell it for full retail. As others have said here, you will just get wankers who will try to get it for nothing
  5. Yes agreed, plus you present them very very well.
  6. There are some quite good deals out there for new and nearly new 500's. There are plenty of them as well. I have had one, very low miles, with some manufacturers warranty left as well, but it wasn't as easy to sell as I thought, nor that profitable.
  7. just out of interest BHM, what cars do you rate?
  8. Mat C, in your opinion, which is the less problematic Mini to go for then? 2010 and over?
  9. Either battery or alternator, or steering angle sensor. Pretty common on these. You could pick up a working steering column (as long as numbers match) from a breakers and have it re-calibrated. Or there are firms who re-condition or supply ones, theres a place in Bristol that's pretty good, or try ECU testing?
  10. He who dares tradevet! Although saying that I won an lemon! MOT failure and advisory list was as long as my arm
  11. They must get decent commission from finance, or maybe they have a stocking loan of some sort?
  12. I sold mine on Saturday. Some old boy came (nice chap) and took it. He made me an offer on it, I did OK out of it. I went on eBay, and did a search, the diesel low miles autos seem to sell for good money. The 1.8 engine is slow though.
  13. It has to go in your name. I used to buy a few bits from a repo firm on ebay. Virtually all of them came with no V5. They were recently taken to court however, as there can be issues with ownership, so I stopped. Also, the stuff was mostly shite.
  14. Its a real shame its not a V6 auto or diesel auto, its the 1.8 manual. Its got 52000 miles on the clock, service history, belts done etc, and a years MOT. Its a decent spec, heated leather, climate control, electric seats. I got it cheap anyway so..
  15. Estate agents do it all the time
  16. Thanks, will do so. Its quite a nice car for what it is, its low miles, decent service history as well, but it is a petrol and a manual, would think the BMW sourced diesel autos would be worth more?
  17. I have just taken in PX a Rover 75 estate, its pretty decent but not my thing. Any ideas on the best place to advertise it? I was thinking eBay, or a fan forum type site? Any suggestions?
  18. Injectors usually. Does the light flash, then go into limp mode then cut out?
  19. Have you had the battery checked? It does do that on these models
  20. Congratulations, it looks good. All the best and hopefully onwards and upwards!
  21. I use them a fair bit. All of the cars I have bought have come on a transporter. They can deliver non-roadworthy vehicles as well. I did buy a non runner (which turned out to have a flat battery) and the delivery driver jump started it to get it on his transporter for me. They usually deliver within 5 working days. On a side note, can anyone recommend a decent delivery firm who are reasonable? I'm based in the south east...
  22. Great news MrC, glad to see you are busy and doing well.
