You can have it corrected.

Nov 2009 milage states 13,000 odd and before it was 46,000? You can have this changed if you can prove the mileage at the time of the test
-
Just ignore it and move on. People will always try something

I think I saw one that's coming up for sale in the auctions, its a 250 SE with 66,000 55 plate think it was registered in Nov

Thank you all for replying. Is it best to use an Agent, or can you buy stuff online from an auction in Japan?
-
Looking to import Japanese performance stuff, or rare stuff mostly.
-
Anyone have any experience on imports? Was thinking of importing and specialising in a certain type. Thanks

I don't think you are stupid at all. Many people use google to search for all sorts, so SEO is very important in my view. Using Google Ad Words and ensuring your firm sits on the 1st page of a google search is well worth the price you pay to purchase the words or phrases. I also think you shouldn't think that SEO & Google Advertising & Facebook etc. solely as a means to generate leads, of course that is the main objective (!) but as a way to promote and project your brand to the public. I think this is what Jim (& Umesh) have done very well.

I don't know how he sells on ebay, he must get enough time wasters and no shows etc...
-
I have bought from them before, most of the stuff is high mileage, ropey stuff. Some stuff is alright. They let you check it over after you win the auction and take a test drive too. No obligation to buy either. They do sell a lot though!

yep, EGR was replaced July this year. that invoice was nearly a grand for EGR & service!
-
But wouldn't I get a warning light on the dash if the EGR was blanked? I will also check the service history in a bit, because I'm pretty sure the EGR had been replaced..

Hello all, I have a 2006 Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDI 170, decent car with decent spec but has an issue... When I start it, the car shudders and smoke comes out of the exhaust, grey/white smoke, and a fair bit. It drives well, with no loss of power or anything, and when it warms up the smoke clears, the shuddering stops and it drives well. I had the AA come out and have a look. No warning lights on the dash, no error codes came up, but he said the EGR valve is the problem. He fitted a blanking plate to it, and the car was fine. I took the car to my local mechanic, and asked him to clean the DPF and remove the blank. I then had the car cabon cleaned. However it still smokes. What could this be? Everything else seems fine to me...

Blackbushe auctioneers like to hike up the prices online, anyone else notice this?
-
Thats a good idea, saves having to deal with gumtree/ebay messers. I'm surprised dealers don't do it as often as you think. Asian customers aren't all bad

It used to apply for the current MOT only. The garage had 7 days to correct any mistakes, then you would have to contact the DVSA. Once the MOT ran out, any mistakes couldn't be corrected. Now they can. I bought a Passat with full main dealer service history. The previous owner had an MOT done, and the MOT station recorded the incorrect mileage. I had to write a covering letter to the DVSA, along with proof of mileage (a service history certificate from VW), and it was corrected and a replacement certiciat sent in the post. It didn't cost me anything either.

Have to agree with umesh here, branding is key.
-
I have used tradex and now covea insurance. However, I haven't claimed yet....
-
Just FYI, You can now adjust incorrect mileages on past MOT's by writing to the DVSA (covering letter & proof). I have done this myself. Apologies if this has been posted before.

Did the hammer go down at 4000?

Where are you located andy? I know of a decent firm but I'm based in Herts

Thanks for the replies people. Its been delivered. Went to mechanics. It starts but sounds shit, doesn't sound to healthy. It does actually drive, but the gearbox jerks and doesn't go up or down in gear well. It might be OK with a fluid and filters change. Its an 07 plate ghia diesel. It has the shite CVT box, it has service history with 80 odd thousand, but to be honest I'm going to sell it as is and take the hit. It cost me £1000 so its not the end of the world. It happens.
