  1. is it moral ? is it safe ? what happens if they change there mind at delivery? what if its not "as described" at delivery? what if the car breaks down and you cannot get the part ? what if they say they were fine before delivery and have now got flu ? if the car develops a problem, and they return it, who opens up ? stay home stay safe
  2. thanks for the link the bit i found a bit strange = "The firm has already axed most of its non-essential spending in areas such as marketing" which is a bit double dutch as they want us to advertise but not advertising themselves ?
  3. Mot testing is NOT suspended, but phone first, the testing station i use is CLOSED, due to customers not complying with the government advice.
  4. my understanding is if your car is out of mot after mar 30th you will get 6 month exemption, if your car mot ran out of mot before , or failed a mot, exemption does not apply. quite sensible really otherwise we would all be selling scrap with 6 months mot
  5. update yesterday = During this time, IT systems will recognise that a valid MOT is in place, meaning you will be able to tax your vehicle as normal.
  6. Amongst the many things to remember [ whos open ? whose shut ?] dvla just popped into my mind, so a update for you, try your very best NOT to do any postal applications, [ dvla = significant delays ] they are too busy with hgv drivers, critical workers. call centre on limited hours, and if it has not got anything to do with covid 19 you will not go forward.
  7. lets make it clear = gov.uk= Commercial tenants who cannot pay their rent because of COVID-19 will be protected from eviction. These measures will mean no business will automatically forfeit their lease and be forced out of their premises if they miss a payment up until 30 June. There is the option for the government to extend this period if needed. This is not a rental holiday. All commercial tenants will still be liable for the rent. Commercial tenants are protected from eviction if they are unable to pay rent. Eligibility All commercial tenants in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are eligible. How to access the scheme The change will come into force when the Coronavirus Bill receives Royal Assent. No action is required.
  8. Maybe lawgistics could do a small piece on "withholding rent" and the pitfalls on the video ? rent break rather than holiday thanks.
  9. are you considering withholding rent ? i cannot see who voted and your name will not appear
  10. yes, and a ubi may discriminate against those with genuine needs, and hand free money to those that don't need it, and no obvious way of delivering it to low income people without a bank account, i just hope the government continues to resist it
  11. it seems this country very nearly did not have your 80%, ministers wanted "ubi" universal basic income, far easier to work out the cost for one, a guaranteed weekly sum to everyone . how would you like that one ?
  12. brilliant we are all going to be overweight ! my hands have never been so clean neither ! arthur daleys on now on channel 24 if its any help
  13. Minimum wage is currently £8.21 per hour, doubt very much if many car salesmen are on minimum wage, average hours worked 37 [office for national statistics ] 37 x £8.21 = £303. 80% furlough is £242, obviously less hours less pay now if there was a petition for minimum wage workers to get at least minimum wage ?
  14. we can enjoy on car dealer live broadcasts umesh's company and his point of view on many subjects on april 15th https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/car-dealer-live-schedule/188912 can i have a trophy james ? can i ? can i ?
  15. A gentle reminder that it is not just car sales that this applies to, it is all workers on commission, maybe the workers who will only get 80% and nothing extra off the company will bear this in mind when we reach the other side ? long memories some people as of 23.21 pm 6774 have signed, need 100,000 for government to reconsider.......
  16. Six days ago, now at least with the clocks going forward a hour we are a hour sooner into the end of lockdown [ you forgot to put your clock forward did'nt you ] !
  17. This petition is all sales people getting commission, not just car sales, so, we are talking a massive total figure, can i remind that the maximum figure available [furlough] is £2500 per month. i am sorry but i will not be voting, cut your cloth they say, adapt your lifestyle to your income, if you can afford the basics, then you are doing very okay.
  18. Update, could not do lockdown this morning, cctv showed none essential business near me still working so did it this evening, they will be reported when the trading standards/council have the legislation in place. Unfair trading i call it, as well as the obvious risk to life, the competion just round corner are sat at home, he is taking there money, i was in a queue this morning at lidl, 40 minute queue, 2 metre apart, was one of his customers in that queue ? anyway, business in lockdown now .
  19. mid management ? legal cover probably already got it with house insurance ? insurance will rocket next year, insurance companys put there money on the market, the markets crashed, as for future trading, crystal ball i have not, sorry.
  20. a floor mat with a hole in it [ arnold clark!] and a dead battery
