26th march= quote Cazoo has suspended deliveries of vehicles during the coronavirus crisis. The company, which has enjoyed a high profile and plenty of publicity since its launch 15 months ago, said on social media that it had set itself three guiding principles as the Covid-19 outbreak began to dominate the news agenda. The first one was that all employees should be kept as safe and healthy as possible; the second was that Cazoo customers should enjoy the highest possible standards of customer service; and the third was that the company would take whatever action it could to slow and stop the spread of the disease. unquote................... There is no known cure..................very chilling the 2 metre gap is a guide..............a guide

When we watch the daily update on the virus from the government we see, graphs, how many died today, how many new cases etc, one of the graphs, shows motor vehicle movement, you might say this pedantic, [right word? ] so we deliver a car, there is no way that as a customer your not going to have a spin out in this new to you car, so other dealers think, hang on, cazoo are doing it right ? why can i not ? so the government see this increase in traffic, and extend the lockdown, simples, so those that are doing the right thing, staying at home, are, in theory, penalised even further, loss of income. No problem at all taking orders, my thinking being, when we are instructed that we are not classed as none essential, then with diligence, we can return, i was asked if, if i had a vehicle "ready" could they collect it ? short answer no, we are in lockdown, and breaking the law by opening up, but they said, we would observe the rules, that is not going to happen is it ? can i use your toilet ? whats that one over there ? bigger companies have "given" cars to key workers, strongly checking there story of being "stuck" one would think, this sort of help will, long term bear fruit for these companies, a point cazoo, all set up to do, have failed on, [50% sales to key workers yes there figures ?] should that not be 100%? If the car transporter on empty return could at least distribute ppe equipment to the nhs ? You may have seen earlier, on another thread my "lighthearted " view on this company, made a few of you chuckle, but the bottom line is, this company is taking other peoples business? putting staff at risk ? encouraging traffic to increase? it is just not cricket ! On a thursday night, at 8 o clock, i stand at my door, yes, with a tear in my eye, clapping for the nhs, the key workers, the delivery drivers, the guy on the checkout at aldi, all the great people that are keeping us going, and if a cazoo wagon goes past, well, i cannot say

how to ? can not find clear information, but found this = The virus was first detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. The first infections link to a live animal market. It spreads quickly from person to person. It is now spreading through the community. Containment recommendations include a quarantine in place and constantly cleaning surfaces for at least a 14-day period. Can my vehicle get sick from the coronavirus? Nothing will happen to your car, truck or SUV should the coronavirus get onboard. But if not properly cleaned, your vehicle could be a hotbed of coronavirus and other infections and germs. It is for this reason that we suggest using hand sanitizers and disinfecting wipes to wipe down the interior of your car and any other area that could be considered a high-touch area. A good rule of thumb is to clean areas that you contact regularly and to sanitize your hands on an hourly basis. This applies doubly in the case of rental lease vehicles. One more bit of advice: We don’t recommend storing a large pump bottle of hand sanitizer in your car. The heat buildup may cause the alcohol in the sanitizer to “boil,” resulting in an expansion of the sanitizer’s bottle. This, in turn, might result in leakage and a mess that will require an extensive cleaning effort. It is a better idea to carry a more manageable-sized bottle, that can be on or near your personal effects, whether in the home, office or on the road. [ iam guilty of that one!]. Alcohol works best in your cabin. It is the cleaner most used by manufacturers of most automotive interiors today. All it takes is a quick wipe to clean most germs and fingerprints. Soap and water will work, too. We would advise against using any type of bleach or hydrogen peroxide on the vehicle’s interior. Both chemicals will put an end to the coronavirus germs, but they will also cause damage to the vinyl and plastics used in most modern vehicles today. Under no circumstances should you use any ammonia-based cleaning products. These can be found in “blue glass cleaners.” (You know which we are talking about.) The ammonia breaks down the vinyl on the dashboard, making it sticky when subjected to heat and light. Additionally, to avoid damage to anti-glare coatings, the glass cleaner should not be used on touch display screens. The steering wheel has four times the amount of germs found on an average toilet seat, thanks to all the cracks and crevices on the rim and spokes, according to Expedia Travel Group’s website, CarRentals.com. For this reason, we suggest using disinfecting wipes to clean all the surfaces on the steering wheel. These include the redundant controls for radio, voice control, cruise control, navigation, and paddle shift levers. And don’t forget about the gear selector lever or the turn indicator stalks. Also clean the door and center console armrests, display screens, cupholders, cubbyholes, air conditioner vents and even the door “grab handles.” You touch them more than you realize and are rife with bacteria and could carry coronavirus. You will very likely be surprised by the amount of dirt your wipes will pick up. Finally, if you find yourself without any alcohol or other cleaners, a good scrubbing with soap and water will fill the bill. The coronavirus resides in a protective pocket that acts as a facilitator to infect other cells, but is broken down by soap. Heavy-duty cleaning will weaken the coronavirus. It just may take a little bit longer to effectively clean it properly. Don’t scrub too hard, though, as you might find you are removing some of the surface coatings or dyes.

its not fun and trust me, NOT cheap, it is struggling, hence all the tacky adverts, other lease companies are closed because they want to protect the nhs, the government has asked quite clearly to stay at home do not put the workforce at risk, grants and furloughs in place for this very reason ! NOT, work from home, send someone else out delivering, question, where, exactly is there advice on how to ensure a delivered car is sanitised correctly ? just a scab mate.

do your homework, not in, its £500 cheaper down the road, look at the model, are they generally available ? i e fiesta, look around, are there a few "fiestas" on the forecourt ? this could have been the dealer who did well with "fiestas" but it has dropped off [ this does happen] as said before, do not make up faults, it must be kept friendly all the time, not over friendly, keep it business like, and do not let who ever came with you look bored and just ready to pay sticker price [ i can suss these out ] . be ready to do business, say that you are ready to do business, you will be asked ! do not waste peoples time, be confident and calm, and friendly ! explain how you can make the sale today, explain that you understand it is a business and that they have overheads, introduce lightly why you want / need this discount, do not make the first offer ! ask, in your previously explained current situation what the final price would be, ask first ! this final price from the seller is your starting point, if you can not get this lower there maybe discount on another item the seller offers, find out first, in the lead up to the sale what this product is, and how much it costs, so, to sum up, with a bit of luck, and friendly talk, you have a discount on the product you first went to look at, and a discount on a extra ! but do not do any of this just pay full price .

i have visited other leasing sites on google to see if they are delivering. one rather large one quotes home deliveries will resume post-lockdown another quotes =" our major lenders have bent over backwards to assist. And although they are unable to collect any vehicles currently, they are taking the details of people wishing to off-hire and will make arrangements for collections as soon as they are able" and a third "we are closed" this was just a simple stab at leasing on google, interesting, and we even have ford saying, as i have, LOCKDOWN IS LOCKDOWN, and given my point of view of how, by carrying on trading, putting the nhs at risk, bedblocking i call it ! yet, we continue to see, and admire ? someone who, up to 2 week ago, a lot of people on here, have never even heard of, boasting 1 taking orders, 2 delivering cars and 3, bombarding us with tacky advertising, and obviously not a seller of used cars . I fully fully understand that some of you on here will be delivering cars, maybe one car, might be two, but, you will have realised this can not continue, there will be various reasons, can not get stock, painter is closed etc, and i forgive that, honestly do. we also see quoted that car dealerships are "absent without leave" so obviously struggling to get stock. If i was trading and on furlough ? would not other dealers of cars be a little upset that i was taking the bread from there mouths, blatantly ignoring government advice, and help i must say ! [furlough]. can i quote what ford man said on dealer live = ‘Reputations will be won and lost through the lockdown and consumers have incredibly long memories. The population as a whole are so concerned with what’s going on that if we’re seen to be showing little regard for what is something in everyone’s interest, then shame on us.’ and how bloody true is that ? you see, and i do not care if you take this wrong, and james feel free to delete this post if you wish, no problem no offence taken, i remember the miners strike, i remember the hardships, the suffering AND THE SCABS, and ling is a SCAB.

many hurdles to jump i am thinking, here are a few of my thoughts = car transporter drivers [excluding licensed salvage operators] delivering single item to a punter or even ten new ones to a dealership are, in my opinion, not key workers ? correct me if i am wrong, lawgistics suggested that delivering a car was fulfilling a legal contract, while this maybe correct,i would not want to be the one at the side of the road with blue lights flashing behind me, it would strongly deter me and others i would have thought? new cars maybe slightly easier to move out of the showroom, the thought of delivering a used car, unseen to a customer, no matter how much is on the "video" sends shudders down my spine, if the general public dropped there expectations of a used car then fine, but that does not happen [ see my user name] . staff, you cannot work while on furlough, so how many staff are involved in the selling of a new car ? the salesman the valeter the person who does pdi the paperwork person the delivery etc. offset those wages against how many you sell a month, so those wages to be paid, no furlough for the company staff, profit ? all the above is with government advice of today regarding covid19 [13.4.2020] although it is believed strongly in the motor trade that none essential business will be one of the last "let loose" because there will be no "right, back to work chaps" in one fell swoop as can be seen re italy yesterday. so lets talk about "us" my general thoughts of the people on here run from either a pitch, with attached place of working, maybe for small repairs valeting etc or a unit with similar, all with neighbours , "all retail with notable exceptions are to close" is the clear law [ yes its law now] so, unless its , a, in stock, b valeted, c, mot, d pre delivery checked, and the rest, how can we go to work and supply online sales ? for one, the neighbour [business] will say, how come he is working and i cannot ? and it is a very fair point ? should the bodyshop be open ? is it a garage ? should you be running a sold car down for mot ? is it essential? why is it essential ? are you running a business that should be closed ? all very difficult !
