  1. I don,t think its quite so clear cut If a customer walks into a estate agent, and the sign on the door says no more than 2 customers at a time, how much time would a average customer spend in the shop ? if the same customer walked into a car showroom, and was buying, or browsing, how long would they spend in there ? [ longer?] so if, the car showroom, could obviously let more people in, because they are bigger, so the car dealer would, in my opinion, have less customers per day than the estate agent ? if the government determines that they are worried that test drives cannot be fully safely carried out, and they consider that test drives are part of the sales process, then we could be put with hairdressers, july 4th at the earliest ? having read up on what estate agents have to do on viewing, it is really not that easy.
  2. So what did trading standards says when you reported the car washes ? as you are obviously concerned ?
  3. car washes cannot be open unless part of a petrol station see video this afternoon re wessex garage and trading standards

  6. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/vehicle-owners-to-be-granted-mot-exemption-in-battle-against-coronavirus Legislation will be introduced on 30 March 2020 and will come into immediate effect for 12 months,
  7. i have noticed on my "daily exercise" where the old peoples bungalows are, the majority have not been moved / washed in at least 2 month, so yes i can see this coming, so if anyone goes out to buy them take a footpump, a jump pack and a hammer ...........
  8. so we got there in end ! he has a car waiting in showroom ! well, let me give you some news then as you think we have the answer ? and not your supplier ? ● Opening non-essential retail when and where it is safe to do so, and subject to those retailers being able to follow the new COVID-19 Secure guidelines. The intention is for this to happen in phases from 1 June; the Government will issue further guidance shortly on the approach that will be taken to phasing, including which businesses will be covered in each phase and the timeframes involved. please note the above underlined part ........... goodbye
  9. i alright it is not the decision of "boris" by the way, let me put it simple, if the 5 conditions are not met, and the hospitals cannot cope, and YOU cut your hand bad, then you will simply bleed to death, or, heart attack, for example.
  10. Wanted a1 autos simon, truly all the best to you, hearing you talk reminds me yes, we are flexible, and can respond quickly to change, a thing bigger dealers will struggle with, so we will get through, glad you got the point over re scrappage, and you mentioned your location and a pitch, i truly think you are far better off as you are, i know there are jobs going on in the background but to run this set up with just your wife well done ! "bits of paper all over " yes me too planning, bills etc. so thanks again james and simon
  11. going back to work sounds great [ never thought i would say that !] but, is there any work to go back to ?
  12. First off i believe furlough will be extended, both employed and self employed, highest number of deaths per million can not be ignored, and secondly, to get us back to work we will have to be told that it is safe, and by that they could give us false hope [ wear a mask you will be fine ?].
  13. without ppe we can't do anything ?
  14. Ppe, the vat element has now been removed from these, so should bring price down, my local hardware shop is selling allegedly all the bs bullshit face masks £2.50 each maximum 2 per customer
  15. The whole aspect of this bb loan is incredible, from the application form to the interest rate, i really hope it is used wisely and not frittered on sticking your hand up until your last bidder at the block for example . I will be also looking into this, there is i understand no cut off date and no "total pot" to run out still worried that it is actually there though, it asks many questions
  16. That is totally unfair, let me tell you why was on here till late, i was doing invoices, signing cheques, generally making sure i can keep my company afloat by checking all recent gov uk sites for updates, scanning news journals trying to get a general idea looking at other countries ways of going back, and coming on here to set people straight to the best of my knowledge and research. Let me set you straight on point number 1, the main point of this ! the extension of the mot was to to help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).NOT [ your quote] for key workers, to keep traffic off the road, quite simple thing to do, x amount of mots due in the next 6 month, x amount removed from the road on journeys, simple. If i am wrong and this is not extended after 6 month from 30th march then i will eat shit, but, let me remind you and others what was said at the daily meeting, a point many missed, this exemption will continue until the end of lockdown, if you want confirmation i will find the link ! quote =Some of us pick and choose who we sell to. every customer who comes through my door is qualified, if your trouble or i sense trouble in the future you will not be sold a car, it is my car and yes, and i sell to who i beleive is right.some may slip through the net, a hazard in many jobs. quote = Not every buyer is a stingy tosspot. and yet you are asking how to measure discs so that you can buy on-line and cut out someone's profit ? and boasting how you got your son cheap insurance ? quote = If someone is forking out £15k for a motor they will look after it. If you're selling a £1500 banger then stick with your mr mechanic know it alls. well i find quite the opposite, walk round any supermarket car park and look at the tyres on these big lumps, handy because many are on full lock, see the cords hanging out on the edge, living beyond there means, 2 cars in drive and f*ck all in fridge is the saying, and yet the banger market may at least consider part worn to keep them legal. now, where is that crossword i have not got the time to do !
  17. Even better ! does not apply to me as i have already received the grant but really good news for many ! on another note i understand that the bounce back loan has been set at 2.5% interest and many directors can use this as a "wage" who can not furlough, simple to apply i understand............
  18. Boris expected to give the detail on thursday , i was hoping tuesday but oh well . That day is three weeks since the lockdown and a announcement was due anyway, friday is bank holiday, so we have got all weekend to get the cobwebs off the mirrors [ she says with a wink]
