  1. I personally have absolutely no tolerance for “no shows”. It is the main reason why I only appoint confirmed buyers. I reassure the “client” the deposit is fully refundable on collection if they disagree with my video. It calls their bluff before they try to waste my time.
  2. I’m absolutely the same and wouldn’t want to work any other way. I have a unit which holds 20 cars and advertise solely with AT and eBay. Every one on my cars is sold online prior to viewing. I don’t facilitate viewings at all. Confirmed buyers only.
  3. Delete the pond life.................. Buyers call
  4. She is being totally unreasonable. Starnd your ground
  5. A, independent MOT and PDI shows you have done over and above due diligence. We shouldn't be scared in saying no to wear and tear issues, the CRA is designed to protect us equally, wear n tear is specifically not covered.... I say it to every one of my buyers Mr customer, I appreciate your purchase but taking ownership for expected repairs or maintenance are your responsibility.
  6. I wouldn't touch one, it'll attract a the cheapest pocket most highest expectation type of buyer.......Beware
  7. A warranty is an insurance policy. Do you trust insurance companies, I certainly don't... I would rather trust a reputable Dealer on his word...
  8. Andy, wear n tear is specifically excluded from the CRA....
  9. I'm a member of Lawgistics and use all of their paperwork also I tell my buyers I stand by my responsibilities under the CRA but do not offer a warranty. Grant that's cool, if you are selling nearly new cars and competing with Main Dealers at their level then of course a warranty would be expected.
  10. The last repair I paid for was for was an EGR cooler in December which let go with a cloud of white steam. Very dramatic for the customer...
  11. MSP, don't get me wrong I always try to help my customers if they are polite and reasonable. I don't insist it must be returned if they are miles away unless they are being unreasonable, I just reserve the right to ask them too. The thing is, I prep well and rarely have problems, if a car has an issue within 30 days I just don't invite them to return it to me for repair. If an injector seal decides its going to chuff within 30 days on a 140k 12 years old car, it is clearly wear n tear.
  12. Jimbo, you need to make sure you do the right prep and checks prior to the car going out, a new MOT and PDI. My cars are mot'd and independently PDI'd. If there are faults, I state them in my video and the invoice / PDI as it forms part of the contract. The way I see it is very clear, I tend to sell cars which are prestige, high mileage and 10+ years in age, with this age of vehicle "wear n tear" should be expected and the expectations should be very very different to newer cars which haven't been to the moon and back.... The CRA works on a sliding scale, age mileage condition and price paid and the expectations should be befitting of the above. At the end of the day a car is just a machine and they can break at any time, irrespective of whatever prep. My job is to make sure the car is right on collection and that the customer is happy and confirms this in writing. I also educate them that anything that constitutes "wear n tear" is their responsibility to repair. I do not offer a warranty / insurance policy, because you are just asking for endless hassle. To answer your question, if I have a problem customer within 30 days who has ignored the above, I tell them to return it me to me for a "statutory inspection" with the reiteration that "wear n tear" is not covered. It's all about expectations and education, if you are transparent and explain your stance and your reasoning behind your stance they will respect you.....
  13. Yes, I also buy out of Colchester:) BIN + delivery, being in the Southwest the availablility is less and the prices are higher,
  14. I regularly buy out of Washington online and pay for delivery to Exeter, I’ve had some real bargains.
  15. Both categories S & N are write offs, for whatever reason chosen by the insurance company. S = Structural is stated on the V5, non structural N isn't...Just like C & D.
  16. Imports = Clocked / written off wreck The days of 10 year old shagged out Pajero's showing stupidly low mileage are long gone. It still amazes me people buy imports with no history thinking its good value. I know now it is well controlled and there is still value, but remember those first initial years before BIMTA.......
  17. Exactgly Transparency is the only way forward.....
  18. ? My point is clear, the buyer would have to prove he was completely unaware. If you are buying a used Hert's car rental, then its clearly obvious its been used as a rental car. The legal issue is stating its ownership details..... Invoice stating the buyer understands the vehicle may of been used for lease, hire or reward and had multiple users.... The claims companies will not see this as an earner...
  19. Waste of time, the market would be so small for a claims company... If you buy a used cars from Herts the you know its had multiple users.
  20. Exactly, there is no audience, don't get drawn in. Complete and utter waste of time.
