Dan, you need to qualify the customer and get a commitment prior to appointing them, they need to know your time isnt to be wasted (politely) and you only appoint genuine buyers, equally they need to know that you guarantee you will not be wasting their very precious time. If they start making excuses, “I have 27 other vehicles I need to see before I ask my dad for a loan..... My method is upfront and fare and ensures neither parties time isn’t wasted.

  7. Anybody can tax any car by the v5/2 ref number on DD. No need to register the car in your name, simply cancel theDD when sold, if you pay by card the refund will go to the previous owner.

  13. I understand it’s really hard for larger independents to survive, the internet is killing your profitability. I don’t think there is an easy answer to the way the market is changing and it’s changing quickly....

  16. BHM, you can’t be a judge on hearsay and you can’t compare cost without having the full facts. AT enables me to sell 15 cars a month, that earns me a jolly good wage. AT facilitate my business concept most effectively and with the highest ROI. When they don’t I will simply look elsewhere.
  17. I’ve always sold high mileage, it doesn’t scare me as long as it’s low ownership, clearly been looked after with a full history. The model and spec is more important, 200k is now the old 100k.
  18. Hi Arthur, you are a Fiat & Citroen Main Dealer with all the associated overheads. Your business is not comparable to mine, I only pay myself so I’m usually in profit by mid month. You clearly have a special deal with AT, I am sure there will be lots of very angry Dealers out there comparing what they are paying.
