1 pointhow to ? can not find clear information, but found this = The virus was first detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. The first infections link to a live animal market. It spreads quickly from person to person. It is now spreading through the community. Containment recommendations include a quarantine in place and constantly cleaning surfaces for at least a 14-day period. Can my vehicle get sick from the coronavirus? Nothing will happen to your car, truck or SUV should the coronavirus get onboard. But if not properly cleaned, your vehicle could be a hotbed of coronavirus and other infections and germs. It is for this reason that we suggest using hand sanitizers and disinfecting wipes to wipe down the interior of your car and any other area that could be considered a high-touch area. A good rule of thumb is to clean areas that you contact regularly and to sanitize your hands on an hourly basis. This applies doubly in the case of rental lease vehicles. One more bit of advice: We don’t recommend storing a large pump bottle of hand sanitizer in your car. The heat buildup may cause the alcohol in the sanitizer to “boil,” resulting in an expansion of the sanitizer’s bottle. This, in turn, might result in leakage and a mess that will require an extensive cleaning effort. It is a better idea to carry a more manageable-sized bottle, that can be on or near your personal effects, whether in the home, office or on the road. [ iam guilty of that one!]. Alcohol works best in your cabin. It is the cleaner most used by manufacturers of most automotive interiors today. All it takes is a quick wipe to clean most germs and fingerprints. Soap and water will work, too. We would advise against using any type of bleach or hydrogen peroxide on the vehicle’s interior. Both chemicals will put an end to the coronavirus germs, but they will also cause damage to the vinyl and plastics used in most modern vehicles today. Under no circumstances should you use any ammonia-based cleaning products. These can be found in “blue glass cleaners.” (You know which we are talking about.) The ammonia breaks down the vinyl on the dashboard, making it sticky when subjected to heat and light. Additionally, to avoid damage to anti-glare coatings, the glass cleaner should not be used on touch display screens. The steering wheel has four times the amount of germs found on an average toilet seat, thanks to all the cracks and crevices on the rim and spokes, according to Expedia Travel Group’s website, CarRentals.com. For this reason, we suggest using disinfecting wipes to clean all the surfaces on the steering wheel. These include the redundant controls for radio, voice control, cruise control, navigation, and paddle shift levers. And don’t forget about the gear selector lever or the turn indicator stalks. Also clean the door and center console armrests, display screens, cupholders, cubbyholes, air conditioner vents and even the door “grab handles.” You touch them more than you realize and are rife with bacteria and could carry coronavirus. You will very likely be surprised by the amount of dirt your wipes will pick up. Finally, if you find yourself without any alcohol or other cleaners, a good scrubbing with soap and water will fill the bill. The coronavirus resides in a protective pocket that acts as a facilitator to infect other cells, but is broken down by soap. Heavy-duty cleaning will weaken the coronavirus. It just may take a little bit longer to effectively clean it properly. Don’t scrub too hard, though, as you might find you are removing some of the surface coatings or dyes.

1 pointI've just seen a car in the news where its had a pot of paint poured over it because they thought the owner was an out of towners Well my old steam cleaner would have taken that gloss right out that girl Theres a record there somewhere

1 pointThat was quite good, James. This lot know what they are on about. Glad they vindicated many of my arguments re marketing.

1 pointThe number of virus particles declines exponentially with time. On plastic surfaces the half-life is about 7 hours (50% drop every 7 hours). So after 3 days a contiminated surface becomes essentially virus free. So a car unused for 3 days is 'clean'. Temperature and sunlight kills virus. The virus are destroyed quite quickly at temperatures above body temperature (around 40deg or more) and 56 degrees kills all virus immediately. Leave cars parked in the sun.

1 pointBack in the day the quickest way to smarten up the complete interior of a mk2 transit van was open the doors and put the Frank steam cleaner on full power and give it one That would clean any blighter in there, good microbes or bad

1 point1. Be calm and civil - if I get a customer who throws four letter works into every sentence or is bad tempered then I tend to take a dislike to them and rather not have them as a customer (problems down the line). 2. Let the dealer know what you can afford and how you intend to fund the purchase. 3. You can always find a cheaper car. The car you should buy will not be the cheapest. Recognise that in the long run its better to pay a bit more for a good straight car with good provenance from an established dealer rather than save £500 but have stress and expense down the road.

1 pointI advise all my customers and potential customers that the price is fixed (I do very occassionally knock a very small amount off but it is rare). Instead, I say my cars ALL come with: New, advisory free MOT whether it has 364 days or 1 day remaining, it gets done. A minimum of an interim service, whether due or not so we know the correct grade of oil and all other levels are right. 3 Months meaningful warranty that covers everything except tyres. A proper PDI, where we check all the things not included in an MOT such as radio, bluetooth, interior lights, air con, locking wheel nut, servicable spare wheel etc. All this comes at a cost. You are buying a car that shouldn't need anything done until the next MOT and Service in 12 months time. On the rare occassion the car fails within the first 3 months, I will fix it, no quibble. All that comes at a price Sir/Madam and that in my opinion is worth far more than £50-200 off at the front end. Please read my reviews and decide for yourself whether my car really is too expensive, consider the cost of ownership. Sensible people agree, the rest can shop elsewhere.

1 pointYou mean haggling customers? I don't. I advertise a price. That's the price. BOOM. However, if it's a returning customer, I do offer a loyalty bonus. Christine explains:

1 pointI know there are more important things going on, but the lack of moderation on this site is concerning. If they can't be moderated then put some systems in place to stop attention seekers like the OP from starting thread after thread. If it was my forum I'd be having a word or doing something before folk leave and don't come back.

1 pointI seriously cannot be the only one here that thinks you're a fake spammer surely? I still do own a pair of handcuffs... Fluffy ones that the Mrs uses... I might have to cuff you...

1 pointCar showrooms are closed, ...because you'll kill the customers. Obviously, everyone knows car salesmen are sweaty and their breath can be putrid even pre-virus. These days, it can kill. You may as well mainline Covid19 via IV injection if you visit a car dealership. May as well boil the virus up on a used teaspoon and jab that sucker in, between your customer's middle toes. Online car sales aren't banned ...because the virus can only go via 5G and you ain't got 5G at home yet. Or something. You don't catch Covid from your home PC. Storage and distribution facilities are exempt from lock down... there is no rule saying WHAT is in the storage or distribution. Could be Amazon crap - being sold like mad, pet food (I got some delivered yesterday), sex toys, newspapers, digestive biscuits... or it could be new cars. ALL ARE ALLOWED. A SCAB?? Really?? Because I'm selling online? There is no chance of killing customers, online. Nit/Idiot (choose your insult). You are online NOW, reading this... and are you being infected? Only being infected with common sense, so keep on reading. Maggie Maggie Maggie! Indeed the Government says, if you can work from home, you should do so. ...So I am. ...I am STAYING AT HOME >>> PROTECTING THE NHS >>> SELLING CARS. Just because I don't have a dinosaur model of a car pitch which relies on VICTIMS (usually in person) rocking up at physical cars doesn't make me a scab. Or should I be NOT WORKING out of sympathy with car dealers with pitches? Oh, ...hang on... I'm NOT a car dealer! That's the popular vote I think. I am NOT "trading and on furlough". I am not on furlough, me. Sometimes people can really talk out of their ass. === And finally Rory/Stalker if you think this very sparsely populated forum boosts Google rankings, you don't get the online thing at all. The stuff I did at the weekend, the Daily Mirror item, The Sun item, all the backlinks from them, THEY boost Google rankings. In fact Google ranking isn't my main route to market. I spend £0 on SEO. Idiots. HOW DARE YOU! My advertising is very tasteful and of the highest quality. Surely *someone* here has a sense of humour?

1 pointIf the cars a fair price pay it. in this day and age knocking money off is rare, and happens less and less as if the car isn’t advertised At the right price in the first place no one will come out. far better to buy from a well reviewed decent dealer for a fair price than get £500 off a shitbox.
