I sold one of these a year and a bit ago, was a 1.0 4 speed auto and it has to possibly be the worst slowest car o have ever driven, if the police were on foot I wouldn’t of risked a chase. I had to deliver the car to Aberdeen and made a joke with a lady friend that if I got more than 100mph she would have to reveal her boobs, let’s just say despite slip streaming down hills I didn’t even get to see cleavage

You can't be everything to everyone. Some people will be looking for a boggo Focus or Astra and in which case, will have £5,000 to spend and filter by price. Other people will be looking for a high spec Q7 and price will enter their head a lot later in their little car buying journey. Some people will travel 250 miles to save £250 on a boggo Focus where as some people won't travel 50 miles for a better spec. So worrying about whether people search high to low, or distance, is a waste of time because everyone starts out at a different point. In my opinion, it's all academic and there are much more important factors to be considered in digital advertising.

Funnily enough I had a phone call today from a punter considering visiting but he’s “a distance away”. He lives 5 miles away & considers me almost too far to travel. I’ve sold an £800 car to a man who travelled 350 miles on the bus for it - 700 miles in one day for an old shitter. I’ve sold cars abroad. I’ve occasionally sold a car that looks expensive locally if it’s slightly ’oddball’. There’s no set way of selling - every person & every deal is different.

You're missing a trick there TV, all of my cars end in 99 and not 95. The reason being if you sell 250 cars a year that £4 per car is a grand a year you're just giving away for no reason, over 10 years that's £10,000!! The thing that always makes me laugh is when people pay in cash and the balance is £5999, they'll give me £6,000 in notes and when I've finished counting I'll reach for my back pocket and they always say "oh no don't worry about the change" so I get an extra £1. The thing is if they went to the Co-op next door and spent £9 and paid with a £10 note and didn't get their £1 change they would soon start complaining, so suddenly that £1 is important to them!! Now if my figures ended in 5 instead of 9 they would probably be much more likely to want their £5 change, and I'd miss out on my free £1's lol.

Seems to happen from time to time. There was a bloke called Jack once, straight up kind of guy, you know the sort. All the prostitutes seemed to die on him as well.

Funny isnt it these corporate ideas of incentives. I do like a good "well i need to put fuel in it to get back" Fuel goes in all cars to make them work ................

I've offered to up our RAC warranty to 12 months instead of 3 months mainly on our sticky cars and most people aren't bothered and only want money off. Offering a free valet on a later date has helped but only money talks.

Not totally sure how the MOT system works at the test station but I thought the tester enters the VRM and then should check the VIN against what is displayed? Could be they have entered a similar reg which happens to be an Auris? Chances are a call to the 2nd garage and they won’t recognise the registration.
