BCA DELIVERED V5C ELSEWHERE

Recommended Posts

By chance, if bca have a copy of V5 or can get a copy from vendor for you, then you only need the doc ref number. Can still register and tax online when you sell it!

How long has Parcel force delivered letters? I’ve only ever heard of Royal Mail for letters and small parcels, Parcel force for the big stuff.

Never knew they did until mine went missing a surprise I suppose... It is royal mail owned...

And everyone saying a missing v5 doesnt make  a difference sell cheap vehicles possibly with other faults . Cars at BCA without v5s sell for way less.

And when I show a customer a black and white v5 do you not think they will be put off. BCA have a agreed and there waiting for docusafe to sort something out...

Chances are customer wont ask and if the car is "in trade" you will be ok.  Don't draw attention to the logbook issue, get a deal done and then approach the subject of taxing at the post office.

No one has ever asked to see a logbook, they just ask how many owners has it had.

A bit of advice not just related to this but in general.

OP has a contract with the supplier.

The supplier has a contract with the delivery company.

OP has no contract with the delivery company. In these situations, whether it be a sofa, a piece of furniture etc, always contact the supplier.

Secondly. If you sign for a parcel and it is damaged the supplier cannot use the fact you signed to say it was ok against you. This is denying your statutory rights.

Here endeth the lesson.

Fair enough!

Point taken.

Why did bca post it?

Didnt you get it upon collection?

Or was the vehicle delivered and the driver didnt bring it?

What about the other docs like mot and servicing and spare keys?

Don't waste your time. Nobody of any note is taking any notice of you. They help us make a nice living. But if you don't like them then the answer is pretty obvious I'd of thought.

Funny how we all see things differently. BCA Wolverhampton is my favourite site, friendly staff and helpful yard staff, all address me by my first name.

Whilst its not ideal, its a way out. A good salesperson would work their way around it fine.

We rarely show the punter the log book.  Nor do they ask to see it. It's not proof of ownership and, as above, just throw in six months tax and go do it at a post office and apply for a new log book at the same time.  As Umesh would say hashtaghappycustomer.
