  1. Had a right stampede at our place, could'nt move for punters. Anyway work shops now busy for the next couple of weeks with warranty returns ;) so hopefully I can sell some cars
  2. Well spotted Detective Jamslug. That is such a twattish thing to do absolute scumbag.
  3. We have done a couple of the 1.5dci clios - non turbo iirc and I know my business partners sister has one - other than routine maintenance never needed a thing and barely uses any juice.
  4. Well done Jim Reid at the Car Dealer Awards. Also Umesh good on you for getting some great recognition, well done. Really happy with my own business being awarded 'highly commended' newcomer against some really tough competition in the class. Hope the night was a good one I am sure there will be some sore heads today
  5. Sell loads of Ford diesels and don't tend to have any massive problems. 2.0tdci in the Mondeo is a cracking engine and great selling car.
  6. Why not get a mondeo or similar for that mileage ?
  7. Share that on car sales memes on facebook. Thats classic. Not the way to go about it for a customer at all.
  8. I make it 35 for the Month in total all gone out. Pretty pleased with that for the amount of people saying 'they are quiet' we have kept things moving and coming in and out. Finally made the switch to a new warranty company today who are going to administer policies for us and hopefully save us lining warranty wises pockets.
  9. Are they not making more from issuing fines to the untaxed vehicles?
  10. Good luck to all those attending and good luck getting those Awards. I notice Jim Reid and Umesh are in the running so best of luck to the both of you. Anyone going? I won't personally be attending Monday nights is the auctions for me and I think its time to bring out the long johns and thermals as it was freezing last week for me.
  11. Visia and Acenta say for example an 07/57 car on around 60k 1.6 petrol will be cheap in book and easy to shift. I bought a couple of slightly higher mileage ones and got lumbered for a bit and didnt see much profit. Be picky with mileage. They should all have a good history as well nearly all I have seen have had mostly main dealer stamps. Good cars, not masses of prep appeal to the school run mums and families. 1.6 Models are very slow to drive though - I remember thinking one was broken when I hit motorway speed but they are all like that.
  12. Petrol 1.6 qashqais are very good sellers for me. N tec models are popular. Only issue we have had is they all sound very squeeky on start up so new fan belt does the trick.
  13. I have got a cracking deal on a timeshare it will be perfect for you.....
  14. If they then google the dealership would they not just search my dealership name then where I am on the front page of google?
  15. I agree with you and your research prompted my post. I am keen to see the effectiveness of this and see what can be done to enhance any aspect of the business. I personally think I would not go to google and type in 'BMW X6 cheshire' to find a car - but if a lot of people are I don't want to be the dealer missing a trick.
  16. That's it Umesh sometimes trying to recreate the buyer journey for how they get to us however for me it can sometimes leave more questions than answers. Always trying to look at ways to be more effective.
  17. Prompted by a recent thread regarding online visibility how many consumers are searching google to find a car or car dealer? My personal experience and that of the buyers who purchase from nearly all come from Autotrader where they are searching for a car, some then view our website and social media and some further savvy customers check for online feedback and reviews on the business. How many customers just get onto google and type in car dealer cheshire and then decide to make the purchase from the first local garage they see? Is there any data for that or statistics? Do any dealers on here have a big google presence and find that drives a lot of business? Interested to hear the thoughts.
  18. I'm with click dealer.websites are great visually, mobile responsive and the team there are all very nice and helpful. No reason to fault them.
  19. What are you doing for a website? with car sales you need one that feeds from somewhere ie autotrader or else you have to add each car manually which is a complete PITA. Basic autotrader Razor site might be a good start.
  20. Is a business plan being created? I would have said around 6-7k following a conversation with our broker on a similar subject.
  21. Don't get a better HPI check than using hpi directly. 2 boxes can be ticked which give cap and glasses figures. You will also be able to offer driveaway insurance aswell.
  22. Does it have to be an Auto? Rav4 petrols I always tend to fly out the door especially clean examples of the older ones. Being a Toyota most of the time they are well serviced so you can afford to be picky on what you buy. Never had one back - Petrol or Diesel which speaks volumes.
  23. You are going to need to take them. what if your part ex is a grade one or 2 equivalent ? you can usually make good money on part exchanges. Most part exchanges that come to me are cheaper than I would pay for them at auction. Considerably. Very valuable revenue stream.
  24. I have always done the bluetooth pairing or had one of the lads do that for customers. I like the idea of setting the home address into the satnav. That is a really nice touch.
  25. It's days like that where it all comes together. Can't beat it.
