  1. I managed to offend a lady who was viewing a car on site yesterday. I cheekilyasked how long she had been an MOT tester after she pointed out loads of things wrong with it that would fail an MOT ( Clean pass here, car was fine) and she got in a right huff and stormed off.
  2. For what it's worth I sell the cheap PX cars on Autotrader portal directly rather than having them look untidy on my shiny website. They usually tend to sell in next to no time so it does work and does have loads of eyes on the site. Certainly worth a go if you are priced reasonably and fairly.
  3. Some people never learn though Umesh and you can tell them over and over and they wonder why they don't move forward
  4. Very good post and nice to hear someone talk about Facebook who is actually doing well with it. Good work guys keep it up.
  5. Keep up your good work guys. Umesh - 195 Views - No comments - Any feedback from fellow dealers ? Good ? bad ? Your thoughts would be appreciated ! Limited info surrounding it so hard for people to comment or have much input IMO, but we do know there are some genuine, straight and honest people at the front. You have my support.
  6. Sell the vast majority of our cars off AT. They have the most consumer eyes on the site. I have started to view our advertising spend with AT as the entire sum ie £4k for a month divided by the number of sales per month from the platform. Lets say you spend £670 with them but end up selling 10 cars in a month off AT - not such a bad spend then is it?
  7. Genuinely quite surprised you feel these people are 'spitting in your face'. Its just some chancer trying it on, a bit of humour can sometimes result in selling them the car. Mostly they are just daft leads which go no where but ultimately I don't take it personally or feel any massive type of way about it.
  8. Nothing negative to say about Sundays. Just another day where a lot of people are off work. We do 10-4 and its rare to blank. Its a nice easy half day, buy a bit of breakfast and a coffee on the way in for me and the member of the team who's working and deal with customers. If I didn't see a return on it I would not open. If I had family / kids and goals other than making money and growing my business my outlook would very possibly differ.
  9. Shh don't tell everyone Mat the amount of our customers who are happy we bothered to respond to an email vs numerous other dealers who don't return calls or emails is still staggering in this day and age. I always think of it in the sense that if a lead came in whether that was a walk in on the pitch, an email, call etc and I was employing sales staff if they ignored them I would be raging. Just come off the phone to a chap enquiring about one of our most expensive cars, in stock after I said I would call him back to run through the finance quotes with him. He said I was the first place to actually get back to him and what should be an enjoyable and fun buying experience is actually proving to be quite a drag for him.
  10. I think they just make it harder for the customer to do their insurance checks, etc etc so see absolutely no point in them.
  11. Those 7 day long weeks are what will get your business off the ground. Your new, you have to put in hours if you want to be a success. I still do 7 days, I love it. Its paying off.
  12. It bounces on loads of customers and you don't get the reason. Anyone from high risk postcode you have very little chance, sporty stuff does not cover many of them. Proper hit and miss.
  13. Blank and delete problem solved? Just sort it.
  14. Got a disco sat on the yard I refunded on earlier in the year. I have just left it sat there but its time to rip the plaster off. Engine is completely shot and so is the gearbox. Its going to be a few £k loss on this one Biggest loss to date incoming.
  15. Waste of money in my opinion.
  16. Completely agree with Lawjaw on this one what didn't work about it for you? My life is so much less stressful since using my own rather than dealing with warrantywise. Financially significantly better off.
  17. Sell my cars from AT. I don't like some things about the company but tbh I have tried to embrace everything and get the most value out of my spend with them of late. If you can function without them and they don't work for you then all good, for me I sell cars quickly as a result and its gets people through the door so to speak. Motors is such a waste of time and the worst performer for me behind car gurus and ebay.
  18. We get off to a flyer and then it drys up a lot of the time its never consistent is it mate.
  19. Vat registered proper boys only mate? Nice to see the efforts you guys are going to with this I have registered and happy to help if needed
  20. Ten mins? Very specific that. We had someone come in yesterday to view a Qashqai who was actually on an unaccompanied test drive from another garage. Trade plates, his family and the price board in the car. Who does that sort of thing?
