The OP is a kid starting out who has tried but does not have the full foundations in place. I did some daft stuff when starting up, I am sure we all have. In this type of thing the person you are coming up against knows best, irrespective he thinks he knows more than you and is out for what he can get. As already advised, and it is actually really important you do this, pack in the emails and phone calls. Put something in writing recorded delivery and just state something to the effect of 'following previous correspondence and in light of drawing resolution to the matter please provide the vehicle mileage including a picture of the current display to allow you to assist with an amicable offer'. Give 14 days to reply. Long it out a bit, constant emails back and forth don't help anyone. For what its worth I give it 24 hours min to respond to anything significant most of the time rather than reply and come across as annoyed with them

Do many of yours look at the documents etc I find less and less are bothered in driving or looking at paperwork if the car is as it was described.

My first complaint - One a girl bought a Corsa from us, took it into a garage for a tyre to be replaced following a puncture a good few weeks into purchase. Next thing it was trading standards, Citizens advice, Ofcom, Watchdog you name it as the wheel bolts were loose - She had owned the Corsa for 6weeks plus at this point how on earth was loose wheel bolts anything to do with us....

Sold does not always mean sold.......

Patience is your friend here. Wait for it to go back through again - Cars rarely make the same money the second time around. In all fairness to the Auction centres the odd error happens here and there when you are selling 200+ cars in a sale, just move on with it no point getting stressed, sounds like you dodged a bullet I would want a lot more out of a 500 will be more than a few quid worth of prep and the fees. -
Needs more clipart and Comic Sans MS font. Nik MK already posted a response for you - Literally copy and paste job don't overthink it.

Social Media Posts - We put a link to the advert directly to the car being advertised First question - How Much? ( Click the link Duh!!!) Next question - Any More Details ( Click The Link......) When people point out tyres are low on tread and they are perfectly fine and they say oh yes I don't think they are illegal but look like they will need doing in 8/9/12 months etc.... No shit they are not new and neither is rest of the car People who come in without their PX.

Makes sense to me. Problem is when selling more expensive cars a lot of folk have a limit of £10k so can't do bigger transfers on the day which is frustrating when all your cars are ready to drive away. I think online banking will only get better and more efficient to be fair.

Trade vet this is something I have been exploring with my own extended warranties - One sales company called 'Car Time' seem to be doing very well with this sort of thing with MOT and service plans being taken up by a big chunk If we have our own workshop and the customers like us why not. Big, big profits + upsell potential here if you get it right and its playing the long game for when margins are squeezed ever further. I always keep an open mind and upon reflection on the warranty topic I think BHM said something along the lines of shiny suited salesmen promising the world who don't know when they are bullshitting have a lot to answer for. If you can sell a car to a customer and have them leaving happy and thinking they have no warranty then to be fair you have been completely honest, they know what they are getting and well done to you. I just think for the total cost of warranty claims that I get and the fact I can offer that hand holding in the scary daunting car buying experience and the comeback and reassurance I will fix things it allows me to sell more cars and show strong confidence in not dropping on price giving me more profit overall. I pay out on things that I am not technically responsible for. If I followed CRA to a tee I know my warranty pot would have a lot more in it than it does, but would I be selling as many? Would I enjoy my reputation? Would I be able to charge what I charge? Who knows. One thing I will say is despite looking after people, treating them nicely and offering good warranty service it is incredibly rare I get so much as a thank you.

EPV I think the no warranty thing is a terrible decision. You are a smart switched on guy but its not the way to boost consumer confidence. I only pay for stuff that I am meant to on our warranties and not complete stupid wear and tear stuff but like Mark we take enough out of them, do enough units that don't come back t deal with the few that do. A lot of these folk you help on minor issues are ungrateful and you don't get so much as a thanks but a good few years further down the line plenty of friends of customers who had warranty claim, family, and the original buyer are coming back to us. Eyes on the long game. You know that a PDI shows everything works today is fine. You also know 5 days later if something packs in your are going to pay for it, play the game call it a warranty ( your own in house or administered ones not warrantywise / autoprotect rubbish).

Your thoughts on Ford/Volvo Powershift Gearboxes ?
Rory RSC replied to Arfur Dealy's topic in General Dealer Chat
Remind your customers of that and add a bit of a Connor McGregor walk at the start of your Videos- Won't be getting any attempted warranty claims then -
I thought she would be in a Bikini

They do see through it. Cars with big specs, loads of options etc are very often marked as higher - Justify the reason for it and most of them do get it.

A lot of people just want it easy and think the motor trade is an easy living , when its far from it . Same with anything and why FX traders sending signals, get rich quick schemes and the like are always going to exist.

Jump on a train to Central car auctions in Glasgow. 6am train is about £20.00. Lots of bargains there and a good friendly bunch of staff.

I do much better than ebay as I am actually contemplating pulling the ebay plug - In 2 minds as I think ebay brings more walk in business and just turned up folk than perhaps I give it credit for. One thing with Cargurus ( I am a fan, it works for me and I personally like the platform) is the customers who we do get through from there don't often haggle and are generally quite well informed buyers.

You can get £4500 out of £34k RS3's or you can make £500 -Depends on your buying on everything.

Your favourite valeting products and why ??
Rory RSC replied to Arfur Dealy's topic in General Dealer Chat
Better than finish by a long shot and smells really nice - 'Pink 'https://www.chromecp.com/product.php/pink_1l_-_5l_-_20l_cfp/?k=:::5397993:0 Collinite wax, lasts longer than any lifeshine product, one coat of that and no matter how long cars in stock barely need more than a hose and a dry. -
Whats with newbies jumping on and buying online at Auction. You guys have a lot of time where you can arrange viewings by appointment and travel the length and breadth of the country to go and find stock. You arent going to get anywhere in this job without 6am starts and getting home at midnight sometimes, its just the way it goes. You really need to be their in person and get down there. See how it works, get a feel for whats selling, see what stock looks good value and develop a bit of an intuition for something that has just had a book drop and looks value. Online is great when you are replacing big stock numbers and buying 4/5+ a day or at a time but its not without its downsides.

2, He could probably get 6 for that

Customer car blows up 8 weeks after purchase...
Rory RSC replied to Christian's topic in General Dealer Chat
Another reason why its a complete unexpected wear an tear failing and why you should always inspect cars yourself before agreeing any form on resolution. Customer could have had his car back the next day had he not been a twat. -
Might even increase in value - Safer bet than giving 200k to an unknown
