Like. Same - bought a Scirocco with manufacturer warranty recently - condition report said gearchange loose or something to that effect. Car came in well under priced and I thought I would just take it into VW. Drives absolutely fine nothing wrong with the manual change.

Auction house of the year goes to ........?
Rory RSC replied to metcars's topic in General Dealer Chat
I was in disbelief that anyone had voted for that let alone the fact it won its category. On a positive nice to see click dealer did well, genuinely a very decent company with some great hard working people involved. -
Mate buy the service bits from Euro and just give your mechanic an hours labour to sort it so its advertised as 'New MOT + Service' - Its then viewed as '12 months without having to spend on it' for someone. It has just got to look good value for money for someone that will run it to 200k.

I take them off everything. People just don't want to know stuff has been towing.

Well in Mark you are doing really well and obviously buying right and pricing right from the start. Those decent margins will only increase now you have rid yourself of Warrantywise. 46 retail cars all gone and collected here. Now its time to do it all again.

It wasn't that bad actually to be fair it came in fairly tidy looking. Works on cars of all price points with the view to have them looking better within 48 hours. Can't video until fully prepped as that is not forgiving. Civic Link

10 pics are better than no pics. Bad pics are better than no pics. Just sold a civic that came in yesterday afternoon. Quick wash and 20 pics online and its gone this morning, If I was waiting for its MOT, service and full valet it would not even be advertised.

Used to do really well there when it was SMA used to head across every Monday for the 4pm one. Pull them all out onto the car park and do a couple of trips back for them and have them advertised the next morning. Switched to BCA and don't think I have had more than a couple prices shot up.

On website once they arrive pre prep. Most important bit of prep is getting the car online with 5/10 pics you can still generate interest. Sold a 5 series on Tuesday morning by 10am I had taken in as a part ex at 5pm monday night had not cleaned it just took a few pics and chucked it online with the intention of refurbing the alloys and washing it + mechanical prep etc tuesday. Customer came out liked the car as it was I said would be doing alloys and a clean plus MOT etc and he gave me a deposit. If I was still thinking about it it would not have sold. He picked it up today having paid bank transfer during the week.

I went to see one and it had a hole in the floor. Dealer tried to tell me they are all like that.

My broker told us to only add our own cars rather than adding all the stock cars at renewal At least thats what I thought.

Worst platform I have ever experienced.

Get it back, show him Arnold clark are fishing for work refer to the MOT you carried out and the PDI you carried out prior to sale with recorded measurements of pads tyres etc and show him your arent a cowboy. Offer to get it re mot tested somewhere else if required and show willing as if it does go wrong I feel its always important to appear to have been reasonable.

Some stock attracts it more than others. Sub prime pays nothing but they have no money so thats when you get the complaints. Comes in waves. You will learn ways to push for it. Most people are funding a purchase you can sell benefits sometimes and beat the rate if they are getting a loan a lot of the time especially when the mum and dad have convinced a 20 something a loan is cheaper than finance and you find out hsbc are lending them at 14% apr not hard to go in at 12.9% to win the deal.

Buy and sell enough and no getting away from problems.
-
When you think about it your actually doing the selling before they even turn up only you are in control showing them what you want, when you want and explaining the bits you want without them interrupting. Its what you would do on the pitch only now I reckon on 80% that have watched the vids I can welcome them when they arrive in person give them 5 mins to look on their own, come back out and answer a few questions before a brief test drive and they are in the office paying and driving off. Come across as realistic and friendly you are already warming them up. I was genuinely taken aback by the results.

Nope that was on my list though - A C250 premium plus estate from lease plan which looks like a nice bit of kit.

Got one out of 5 on my buy list.

+1 and if you ever want any advice or help drop me a message or give me a ring you know my website and the numbers there its only ever me who is daft enough to answer the phone. How many videos have you done and what are you basing that on? What period did you leave videos on for? Did you measure the response? For what its worth I don't point out any imperfections specifically as all used cars will have them. I sell far more with video than without and have tried both with and without. With video I take more deposits. With video customers are more softened up when they arrive and ready to buy. Its easier getting them to commit. It's been a game changer for me in the last 12months and boosted profits, brought down days in stock and increased good customer feedback. Also I over prep refurb loads of alloys, service cars, buff them paint them have them presented as well as I possibly can but I very rarely budge on price. Customers can't find anything to whinge at or chip me on. Its never a new car but its new to them make it look as good as you can to take good money out of them. The trick is to getting all yours costs down and your production line and speed of having them ready to drive away as quick as poss in my book but we all have different approaches.

+1 Actually having a body to get some clearing up around consumer rights acts of used cars would be massively welcomed as anyone on the receiving end of a misinformed complaint following a customers call with the idiots at the citizens advice helpline will be fully aware.

Best performing sales channels for certain car models...
Rory RSC replied to MrV's topic in General Dealer Chat
Given you want spoon feeding that does not surprise me I found this stuff out by measuring response and trialling many forms to see what worked best for my stock profile. what works now may not perform in 12 months. No shortcut but if you think facebook works for you then keep on at that. Its cheaper than Autotrader for sure. -
Hubby wants it - Wifey doesn't want it....
Rory RSC replied to Arfur Dealy's topic in General Dealer Chat
Simon if I didn't sell a car every time I thought someone was a weirdo lets just say I would be very quiet Sell it, ensure you don't leave yourself open and cover everything but to be fair you are pretty robust on this anyway. -
Its certainly out there and I agree. If we stuck rigidly to the guides we would never buy anything. Bought a couple of nice well specced BMWs with a good £2.5/3k margin across them yesterday but paid well over cap clean for both. Doesn't matter what cap says the retail prices of them are way above caps.

Chuck them in the window and carry on and if we ever get fined for it suck it up and move on.

I have noticed this on Fiesta's aswell. Worst case budget for it to come back within 3 months and do it for the customer. Some cars do have noises but they can stay the same for 10k miles others get worse 500 miles in.
