  1. Halfords - "centre of excellence"
  2. These fuses are particularly liable to blow when teenagers are in the car!
  3. Depends what they are going to do with it, the fact that you're a dealer is irrelevant, you just happened to have the car they wanted. Bare in mind a 'pro' gang could have your car stripped to parts in a few hours, in which case the tracker is irrelevant.
  4. I agree, at the end of the day, if the 'really' want it and have the equipment you don't stand a chance. But, time is their enemy, and anything you can do to slow them down will hinder them. Guys like these are 'experts', they will steal to order. They will probably have been watching your place for days/weeks as having the least security of the cars on their list.
  5. Especially now you can check MOT history that shows EML has been on for two years?
  6. With this thread in mind, I couldn't help but notice the 01/Y 1.2 Clio at Manheim Colchester with 165k. Not the highest miles but who'd have thought?
  7. You'll also need a holiday home in Devon and a black labrador called bengy
  8. To be fair, when Volvo stop making estate cars the world will stop for some people
  9. The last estate I sold (Focus), was to a self employed painter. I asked why he didn't buy a van, his answer was that, where he lived, vans were regularly being broken into and that with an estate, you could see what 'wasn't' in there? But I suspect "grant8064" has hit the metaphorical nail on the head with younger buyers preferring MPV's and SUV's to conventional estate cars. Whereas the old guard will have to be dragged out of their Volvo/Merc/BMW estates.
  10. Yeah, I understand that. But it will be easier if you can thrash out a realistic price 'and' a timescale that suits both of you
  11. But, the car now has another owner and more miles and is another year older (2017)? So its not going to make its original selling price. If he wants top money, "you" will have to work hard to get it. I appreciate you don't want to beat him up but business is business
  12. Look at it this way, he has your expertise in preparing the car, advertising, dealing with customers, test drives, paperwork and all he has to do is wait for the cheque. The thing is, is he 'really' expecting you to effectively give him his money back? But it sounds like 'he' has to decide how much he wants for it?
  13. It depends on what the car is and how quickly he wants his money. He might take bottom book if its not sold after a month?
  14. I've always had good luck with estate cars, even better if they were automatic, but last few I've had were slow to move on. Are they starting to go out of fashion? Why have an estate car when a MPV does it all?
  15. I suppose after a month, its not a case of him just being late collecting his car but that he's parked illegally?
  16. He probably thinks, like a supermarket, there's more than one of each on 'the shelf!'. ie you buy five or six the same?
  17. I wouldn't have minded if it was agreed beforehand, I would have told them to move it somewhere else. Originally it was "back tomorrow to pick up" but one day turned into two etc. I messaged them every day and every day was a different excuse. I must admit I was starting to think about getting a forklift.
  18. My phones never off. I was taking calls on Christmas day?
  19. Just wondering what you guys have experienced as I've recently had a customer pay for a car in full and then not collect it for nearly a week? It started after doing the deal as, "we'll pick it up tomorrow", and that continued every day for nearly a week. Various excuses were offered, but as they had paid in full and they had the docs, keys the lot I couldn't even move the thing up the road. I think I'll have to take a tip from the auctions and apply storage fees after 3 days?.
  20. Same for me. In fact I was told by a manager that I was "at work" when I woke up! Although I do remember back in the day about "smoke breaks" and how sympathetically smokers were treated. The "smokers" would work at least an hour less than the rest of us per day, especially when the management were smokers too! While we are on the subject of timekeeping, I remember when banks opened at 9am sharp. Not 9:02am or 9:04am. It might seem petty but 9:00am is 9:00am. They used to be able to manage it. And opening at 10:00am on wednesdays because of "staff training!" Come on!
  21. No, he came today. It's paid for and he's picking it up in the morning
  22. I'm eating my Christmas dinner and the phone rings. Guy needs car urgently but no buses or tubes and he cant get to me. He was too far away to go pick him up and he's going to try and get to me tomorrow but even though I've sold cars on Christmas eve i've never sold one on Christmas day, yet! Today was close!
  23. I can't believe anyone would spend £3.5M on that thing? But ...? Although it will probably be bought a 'youtuber', and then we'll have to endure endless boring videos of these 'trust fund kids' "downshifting" and gurning while driving through tunnels
  24. Good pic. In focus, correctly exposed, nicely contrasting backgound, no 'odd' reflections, wet ground under the car!
  25. Poor Frank being 'ripped off' by the dodgy car dealer, typical. You know they buy those cars cheap because they're all clocked/wrecks and sell them for 100 times what they cost. It's about time something was done about them. I hope Frank gets his money back and compensation for the massive inconvenience!
