Hi Jordan Ill try to help as best I can and I'm sure other will be along to pitch in with knowledge but will give you my take on things amd my advice I would say you customer is not entitled to any money for repairs as you offered to get these carried out if he doesn't have any receipts for parts or repairs where is the proof with a court or trading standards .. as for trading standards in my opinion you have did your legal requirements by offering repairs or full refund infact more so by offering fuel money as as far as I'm aware its down to the customer to return the car to you though I write this on the invoice terms and conditions I would offer him the refunds but only the full price he paid for the car no fuel no repairs etc if not happy stand your ground . Again offering full refund on terms above although infact in legally terms I think they would look at fair use how many miles said cars has covered in two weeks etc if you play by the book trading standards are pretty fair you have nothing to worry about after all you have offered a full refund if it goes to them, explain this to them if you have photos of the car showing the windscreen you will be able to see there is no chip as this could happen at any time accidental etc I would consider and argue this and also could be consider within fair ware and tear again in my opinion all the best Good luck

Sometimes you can buy said cars from dealers and independents when they want out my business contact does it sometimes he's bought cars from arnold clark. Retail Did more prep traded in an old px And came out in profit always does well with volkswagen transporters . Keep an eye on that beemer David

To be honest you seem to have been more than fair and done everything correct I think another thing on your side is the main stealer not wanting anything to do with the court case . Try to sleep easy at night knowing you have done your best Good luck ..

I was going to suggest using a new mot test station to test the car again or at least inspect it . Then you have 2 different opinions and its past 2 mots in space of a few months I agree about using garages inspectors out-with his area and again return to your premises seem to many horror stories before good luck again

I like when they buy something else then you find out from a friend it was a total wreck that did collapse or head gasket away or something only happened to me once but did give me a bit of satisfaction was working for a small little car dealer at the time cheaper stuff was his thing had an old focus 1 years test etc it got took it in px guy in the local pub was looking for a car said he didn't have a good feeling. About the way it drove He bought a 207 from another garage mot station the exhaust fell off in the first week the wheel bearings packed up heater motor back axle went etc lasted about 3 months then he traded it in for a corsa on pcp sold the focus to another guy known to us he ran it 3 years passed mot with minor work etc and then sold it on for a few hundred think we only charged about £795 at the time of sale

Often wonder what happens some of these cars they end up at specialist for telephone numbers-on ebay wish I bought some years ago and stored then Was looking at an xr4x4 on eBay the other day was telephone numbers Was just saying to a mate how who had one he said he thought he remembered paying abour 4k from independent auction at the times back in the day my dad had mk2 jaguars etc back in the day and often said he wishes he covered them up in the garage and kept them good .
