  1. One i know off Brand new defender straight out the factory at landrover by time it had done 800 miles fault code three times and engine light turned out an electric connecter had came loose then a fixing clip the owner fixed it himself in the end after landrover and landrover assist weren't much help
  2. Rover 2000 there a blast from the past mind my dad saying he owned 3 of them and and a mrk 2 jag
  3. Some of the attitudes have been terrible even when following there guidelines or local vet up until a few days ago where only doing emergency appointments which is five time the price of a normal one surely they could simply collect the dog from the car park at scheduled times by using an extending leash and ppe without the owner having to even enter obv depending on temperament of dog etc what amazes me is when your being polite to auction staff etc wait your turn not given them grief etc they go out there way to rude the office staff etc are decent I found it more the mangers and yard staff and yes you've guess it due to covid how exactly does it affect manners .
  4. Wbac also wont but a car in your own name that you haven't owned for 3 months or they didn't a few years back got talking to an acquaintance in the pub one night he had audi which he bought for himself and registered in is name and address and the engine management light came on a few week later he ended up sticking through the auction and loss a bit on it .. as for the fuel thing never have any right nor reason to it or the car temperature in photos even some of the cars ive sold at auction some times they had half a tank quarter a tank or full three quarter etc sometimes if they were decent enough but older or ruffer than usual standard we would use them to smoke around in to use the fuel as the other said some times in life and in this business you have take chances in the wise words of del boy he who dares wins rodney
  5. Dont normally buy pendragon stuff but took a punt on a stop gap vectra diesel 3 years ago in person at the auction for under a grand for a Friend as as stop gap not really something id buy for stock turns out it was owned by a father and then and son or vice versa same address on the log book b5 . 3 years later its still going strong apart for basic servicing and brakes etc its never let him down we took it a six hour round trip last year and it never missed a beat good pendragon stuff is rare I agree although i guess some good older trade in must slip through the net rarely although i do mean rarely comes with experience i guess .
  6. Another vote for Ashley good lad very helpful so is @John Cook - Aston Lark Very helpful both worth a shot I've used think insurance and never had any problems with them a few times though a few here have said negative things and also towergate who were slightly more expensive but seemed to offer a better level of cover ..
  7. +1 always read the small print before signing anything am sure the balloon payment for the pcp would have been in the figures another thing I've briefly though of is motability cars ive a few friends have them actually tried to search out one of the last ones but was unlucky in my search and it appeared at arnold a few weeks after its return even considered buying if from them as a personal family car but didn't feel like paying the premium did that once and said id never do it again however I often wonder if it would be cheaper using the money from there pip payment to personally lease a car and and pay there own say for talking sake with a deposit up front a new fiesta say could be leased for around £150 a month granted you have to pay your own and insurance and Maybe maintenance and tyre but if you weren't covering a big mileage it would probably work out cheaper in both cases my friends car had around 16 k at the end of term so well within the 8k per annum on a 3 year and i know one person who pays around £300 a month for a fiesta he says then though i guess if you used the mobility car to its full potential of the allocated 60000 miles that would be cheaper in the longer guess its horses for courses Me too will we try a sob story
  8. Come to think of it I think the guy might have been called Edd lol
  9. I can do better than that heard of someone want to swap a three piece suite once on gumtree many years ago
  10. Agreed there keeping me amused funny thing is on the car I mentioned he said his son liked the car and I never see it again after he refused the refund
  11. Another thing is a customer in a 5k car always seem to be more understanding if a fault develops that we are doing or upmost to repair and get to the bottom off of the fault as opposed to the customer on a £995 part exchange who will come in all guns blazing demanded that there whole car is stripped and rebuild for something like a squeaky glovebox or creaky door .. I once offered a full refund inc tax before the changes to a customer on a £1495 car id been using myself for a few weeks as a park anywhere take home at night use to get to work in the morning car had 150k miles but was basically a sound one owner car all matching Pirelli tyres etc fully stamped history all old mots tax discs and service and repair receipts in nice wallet but the customer would return daily on the first two occasions we put it through the work shop found no fault but fitted new parts to keep the customer happy then when he thought we were a push over the car was back every day for two weeks the final straw was when the customer came in said his son didn't like the aftermarket jvc cd player as he couldn't charge his phone from it that same one that was in there at purchase

  17. Ive asthma and genuinely exempt but sill wear a snood in the bigger shops and supermarkets thats the reasons I wear it due to people like that mainly and I guess out of respect for other customers and staff but how was she to know that you didn't also have a medical condition making you exempt like asthma etc Get a snood from eBay Tony best £4 I ever spent I cant breathe good with they masks due to my asthma but still like the snood for the bigger shops supermarkets and trains and buses .due to members of the public like Justina mentioned . Great idea for the smokers too David lol . Hope Mel is ok Dave Mate its the last thing she and the staff need with what is going on some people have a shocking terrible attitude to people who are only doing there jobs as I mentioned above I'm exempt but still wear a snood out of respect and politeness for another shoppers and staff members . And funnily enough I explained it in a similar way to you lol .
