What was the first auction you ever went to ? Think mines was bca from memory . The intercity site was up for sales a few years back mind seeing it online they had s site in Perth too my old boss sold his td5 there years ago .
-
Brought back memories that mate . sierra estates in my day my old man had a Peugeot 309 when i was 12 and my mum a newish 306 . Was going to say not a range rover but when i was 14 we traded in an old landrover 90 the family had on a c plate for the first off the 300 tdi discoverys it was about 12k the time but felt like winning the lottery in comparison at the time jump forward a few years the old 90 would probably be worth more now What was the name of the glasgow auctions back then trade-vet remember my old boss using intercity auctions and i bought some bits and bobs from there when first started out myself

Those were the days certainly the local garage used to buy some direct from the insurance company before I started working there but remember them when going in with. Haha cause you have a wedding to pay for It's wasn't the cleanest one I've ever seen if I'm honest mechanically sound and well looked after but you know the elderly driver type the odd bumper scuff etc give it a valet and a few touch ups it's didn't need anything for a test apart from a couple of bulbs and the usual bits so was happy to tidy up a bit and get it gone . And the buyer was happy enough with what it was for a cheap run about due to the low mileage and service history was a nice colour though and probably with a bit paint could have been a really nice old thing as my mate and business associate often says it had the potential to make a good car out it

The mot remains valid he will have to tax it .

your 100 percent correct. Mate buying good cars at that level has always been difficult as are the margins for prep etc especially if like most of us here you care about your customers although any good trade ins etc always fly out the door we took an old focus in before lockdown 07 plate with 45k miles one owner auto full ford history nice blue metallic had it up at £1695 and could have sold it 10 times over but as you say what's the chances of finding another slim .

Think that end of the market will really do well soon honestly I do . Hope you and the good lady amen extended family are all good mark .

Peugeot in particular find some parts in the parts bin stick them all on a car and call it a special edition . They did it with some parts on the 207 sw models and some of the older 205 306 models etc one of the mechanics used to joke that they must have found some parts in a cupboard some where

How can the public appraise a car when many so called professionals cant you only need to look at some of the auctions reports to see that this is the case .
-
Laughable that isn't it
