Yeah was combos mostly or transits at the time though think the 13 plates 63 plate swb transits they recently sold were the last of the true Bt. decent transits
-
It was the sierra model it was mad money it was like £5500 you would would need to be sad or mad to pay that much for a future classic as they say In all the ads for overpriced junk on there the garage i mentioned early had a 3 of them as runabouts back then over the years they paid like £800 each for them .and what he spend on them to keep them running would have bought a good transit at the time . Oh and its had previous welding repairs

What sort of stuff do you buy and sell out of interest we did well with the ex network rail and bt stuff as sell as a coupleof virgin media have bought a few royal mails etc too in the past . Think we all have more time now though I'm getting bored

Think id rather drive the 10 year old focus now . Remember when i was younger i wouldn't have owned a car over three years old even committed the forbidden sin and bought a few from main dealers or lost money on a few only for others to make money on them but you live and learn and an old £1500 pick up van or old diesel car does me now was looking at a p100 ford earlier on ebay right blast from the blast .

Well said plus i love a banger and old smoker so it saddens me to see all those potential runarounds scrapped . Do you think many scrap-age scheme cars actually got away ie rare models etc

Thanks dave my earliest memory of trade plates i can remember is around 1986 in the garage i mentioned when i went there with my dad toddling behind as a kid before i worked there years later

Yes that what i was meaning when do they date from what decade year the came out at a guesstimate Thanks for going to effort . Much appreciated
-
What year do the old plates date from out of interest late 70s early 80s the garage i mentioned had them right up to he retired in 2006 but i reckon he would have had them from mid 70s before my time .

Remember the old plates well. First garage job i had had 2 sets . the entertainment system was pre war also an old analogue tune radio connected to a scrap car aerial on the shelf with a couple of old speakers and twelve volt car bettery under the bench to power it then some one treated us to a hand me down hi fi and wired speakers in the workshops it was good workshop very large with plenty space and a massive scrap yard but going to wreck and ruin was ex railway site when the mines and pits operated theres about 8 houses and 6 flats on the full site now inc what was the shop fuel station wasn't there long the owner was a selfish git the workshop boss and body shop boss were good men . Still in contact with the bodyshop boss but sadly the workshop boss got the big c and passed away still miss a catch up with him . Was only in his fifties and the best mechanic id ever seen coincidence or not his cousin is also a good mechanic but in ill health. Now
