  1. There is lot like that isn't there the ones that get me is the ones that come and view something thats an absolute perfect car then try and pick fault or say it has a small dent or stone chip on a 1 owner genuine 50 k miles car at 10 years old with full service history for £1595
  2. Yeah i know some of the garages I've worked for in the past bought online I used to buy for a lot of garages and one guy asked me to do it for him due to crap appraisals scaled down last year . Only do it for around 3 or 4 friends now due to me trading my own stuff family commitments which is mainly caring for my dad who has various medical conditions Copd dementia and Alzheimer's and helping do the same with a close family freind who ive know since i was primary school age and another businesses im involved in not related to the motor trade .. don't think me personally would like to buy a house without viewing it first but as it said guess im old school or stuck in Dinosaur time .
  3. Think we are all the same . Getting bored now all the same theres only so much you can do around the house and so many car shows you can watch esp repeats as well as the old classics minders only fools snd horses the professionals the sweeney etc
  4. Seen a house for sale advertised the other day guy i know of was interested in and phoned to register an interest they said no views etc till after the lockdown and virus it now went to closing date no sure id want to buy a house without viewing it first same with a personal car i guess as but maybe I'm just old school
  5. I was just meaning arnold clark are retailing there own contract hire stuff now I just cant see who would one a 4 year old octavia with 150k at retail money and it was reserved after a few days . what your saying was what i was sort of getting it that if you go to a fleet manager of a contract hire unit with an offer to buy x amount of units if you get first choice etc then they would look fair able on you i was thinking that maybe if cazoo got 5 cars of the same model they would have to sit on them in comparison a multi dealer groups can place them between branches Like a was saying with the peugeots for example although they could do the same with a year old fleet of astras or focus
  6. Im sure i seen that mentioned on his website at one time the dutch auction concept
  7. Yeah its not something for the independent or even franchise but I guess it might work for a company like Cazoo or even arnold clark with multiple branches in-fact they had a lot of ex company silver 15 plates 308 estates on recently although i think there retailing a lot of there own contract hire stuff i bought a few in the past thats had been on contact with the nhs from auction probably 10 years ago when they sold there contract hire stuff there have you seen some of the retail stuff they have seen an octavia at 4 years old touching a 150 k miles
  8. Ive always said cars could be bought direct from fleet if buying in big enough amounts . If money was no object and had a biggest enough business and turn over I think most fleet managers would be willing to do business if someone was coming to me in there portion and offered to buy for talking sakes 100 units i know i would give it serious thought .
  9. Not currently trading here . Closed as are the other businesses i do some work for Think Im losing weight having to eat home cooking most the takeaways are shut and the sit down greasy spoon cafes and Chinese Indian world buffet places are all closed saying that the biscuit barrel is going down as well as the crisps multipacks think ill have a yoghurt or 2 for lunch bit more healthy
  10. Guess it really depends what people think are crucial for example if an nhs worker or other key-workers cars has be written off stolen failed mot well should say developed fault that would cause a failure due to the extension etc or they have been using public transport then I can see an argument for it .but can also see the argument against if even those type of workers just fancy a change . The more worrying concern is with a lot of main dealers been closed and some only open for essential work with lower staff numbers for key workers whats the waiting time going to be .currently know of a golf with broken seat adjustment and a vivaro with the alarm going off when locked neither really an emergency just now but what if something major happened to a lease car of an nhs worker many in our area are leased through companies that are closed how long would it take to get a repair or courtesy vehicle / hire car to them.
  11. Not had any police police need here but tried to request a prescription from the doctor the other day and it was a no go told me to get something from the chemist and call back in a few weeks if i still felt the need for them my asthma always flares up at this time of year
  12. The stock has all been removed due to closing due to covid they normally have about 30 cars on there they still have some on the retail site
  13. Yeah these one just drove through in the normal sale order anyone buying them really would have to have been gullible .
  14. I remember years ago watching people swap the main dealer direct stickers on to there private cars so the untrained eye would think they were part of the dealer group
  15. Thats not so good poor guy just trying to put food on the table doing nothing different from probably any one of us on here have done or would do . And rightly or wrongly a write up in a local paper like that isn't going to do any of us any favours . I've seem similar things happen to what are genuine honest traders the thing thats maddens me is nothing ever seems to happen to the ones that are not .
  16. It is funny but actually scarily true its like I was saying yesterday about the community council taking car reg numbers at the old hospital out in the country side near here and putting signs up about walking there yet on both the police and government guidelines it says its ok to do this .
  17. Seen this last night on a youtube comment its very true it seems no one knows the rules .
  18. I think all the business model does is limit the chances as you say joe public will always be seen as joe public by the courts regardless if the car is sold as seen or marked on the invoice etc and car dealer as car dealer if in the trade Although i think trade vet is right also if the terms and conditions are displayed .on the walls and invoices and a customer signs an invoice then its a grey area
  19. I think when you think of it you will be right trade-vet if the terms and conditions are clearly displayed and customers signed a declaration there is less if any chance of comebacks . Although im not sure i get from a customers point they know what there getting but would every customer see it like that .and if push to shove could probably bring in the consumer credit act and trading standards at the very least i would freshly mot all stock .
