  1. He's worth a watch . I used to watch him on a tv show years ago
  2. The landrover is a good shout . Remember my dad got a metro in 1998 as a courtesy car from landrover in truth it wasn't that bad for a 4 year old metro after that they must have changed there policy on courtesy cars cause the other twice the discovery was in for warranty work it was a brand new Freelander and defender 90 that was loaned to us .
  3. Whats the story Andy how did that happen ? Just interesting to hear it mate thats all
  4. was mostly and is still run off the mill stuff focus astras etc .it doesn't do so much know how had a couple of corsas last time Take it the south wales and Strathclyde ones were the worst in was a lot easier in 309 306 days though you need half a dash now .
  5. Know a guy that buys a lot of police stuff he does mechanic work for-me he used to buy Lothian and borders and strathclyde ones still does occasional but Its police scotland now .
  6. Remember them having a few when i was young although I've been involved in the trade some way or other for about 21 years since leaving school my dad and 2 of my cousins both mechanics one who has now sadly passed the other has a foreman position would take me around garages auctions etc since i was able to toddle along behind them . So probably 33 years or more ive been in around cars and remember seeing them both on the roads as police cars and in the auctions on school holidays etc .
  7. Or wear the glasses . I refuse to admit I'm getting old baldy head and needing glasses How yous and the missus doing ?
  8. Well if thats the case there no much he can do to be fair i thought he know the details name address of etc of the buyer which he could have put in letter if not then thats of course a different matter and he shouldn't sell the car to random with no details. And i agree with you ill also admit i probably never read his post correctly .
  9. Stop giving away your trade secrets in all honesty tht was the good old days same when they used to swap plug leads round etc and thought people were daft .
  10. Write a letter addressed to the dvla explaining the situation both you and the buyer sign it and send it and keep a copy normally i would say send recorded delivery but unsure how effective this would be during this period so maybe as well first class . When the v5 arrives send it back you sign it but in the new keeper part write buyer not present as sale completed on date as per earlier letter put the date in due to covid 19 social distancing and postal service being slow . Or include a note saying this .
  11. Could be up to 8 weeks . They say 6 but post is slow due to covid-19 as a private seller it will be difficult to sell without
  12. And actually seem like a lovely family incidentally the clarks are a nice family too well the ones I've met also met ian skelly years ago who was a nice guy to have a coffee with . Never really met dougie park but family have and say he is ok met fuzz townsend from car sos once what a nice guy he was and had a great conversation with him he said he was just a normal guy who got a lucky break its always a pleasure to see someone or a family do well and it doesn't change them or go to there head i always said if i was ever lucky enough or unlucky enough to build a business like that depends how you look it it no sure i could handle all that stress .it wouldn't change me due to the fact I've known people build a business then suddenly they change amd would walk past you in the street looking down there nose having knowing them years
