  1. Go for the Unit. 15 min drive will be excellent versus 50. How soon can you start? we want the next installment ASAP.
  2. +1 You will always have a keener eye that the standard punter, we had this recently, we had it in stock for months, and the paint job they did on the wings was starting to loose its 'shine', we took it back, and they machine polished it back to life, improved the wings enough to sell them.
  3. I think you need a day at BCA at the coal face with a few of us, pay us back in the caff
  4. Sounds logical. Cut down on your time spent being consumed with this idiot. how will his actions be looked upon in court? What’s reasonable? youve offered him a refund and he’s doing everything in his power to stop you doing exactly that!
  5. Lucas, is it in or near Shepperton? What makes you want to open a garage, do you have an interest in cars or is this purely to make money (something which you seem to do well without dabbling in a completely new sector)
  6. same, makes a refreshing change to be rather cut throat with the billies, often paying cash at that price point too
  7. can you not benefit from business rates relief as you're a new and small business?
  8. good job, whats the plan? new ticket and alternator and £1995?
  9. Yeah ease back into it and build slowly I’d suggest. Build some contacts, body, mechanical as that seems to be a big barrier.
  10. great news Lucas, well done, time to change those illegal brake pads on the XF? what is your main Full time job?
  11. Great post AD. I've found some CRA2015 Guidance notes from .GOV - https://www.businesscompanion.info/sites/default/files/CRA-Goods-Guidance-for-Business-Sep-2015.pdf Interesting that in regards to customers claiming for damages, "nor can the consumer recover for loss which they could reasonably have acted to limit or mitigate." Going off on a tangent here, but I would personally interpret this as customers not being able to claim for a blown engine had its oil pressure light on for 400 miles, that said, could you prove this, are high-level diag tools clever enough to clock such mileage/date?
  12. reckon it'll sell well, lots of families looking for a spacious car will like it, and these are the sort that don't know much about brands and reliability, just see the space that it has and the relatively low screen prices considering its relatively new plate. let us know how you do
  13. as mentioned, this is rare, dealers that have reputations like you and I are rare, how he can find and harvest a group like ourselves to advertise thousands of decent cars to fall into the hands of realistic customers is the big challenge that I wish him well for
  14. Interesting a couple of you guys have suggested a colour change, if anthracite or black etc isn't the factory colour you could argue that this would put people off? or are you suggesting a colour change based on it then standing out from the crowd, one I've always ummed and arrd over and ended up sticking with original.
  15. If your contracted stock is 10+2 will I end up with 20+2? i thought it was the main contracted stock that was doubled (the 10)
  16. Something like this would be ideal https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F283024561673
  17. LIKE. Whats the retail on that David!? It’s always the weird ones like this that sell for me
  18. What with social media and online reviews becoming more powerful I’d be intrigued to know if dealers like this still exist
  19. 1 out of 1 for us, RAC. List as long as your arm, we rectified key items and customer was realistic with the rest. hopefully 2 out of 2 by the end of the week but I know the billy is looking for me to contribute towards restoring his 20 year old 911.
  20. Can Parkers Guide sell you a car? Parkers Guide? Who are they, is that a new dealership that's just opened up Sir? Think I'll follow the lead from many of you, and do deposits with card machine and balance on bank transfer. CPM, yes he was particular! he rung around and spoke to a local VAG specialist who advised him not to buy my car because there is no evidence of a gearbox oil change which ultimately has cost me a sale, I offered to do the gearbox oil to secure the sale and to put his mind at ease but he couldn't live with the 'what if's' regarding the damage its already done, I think he's looking for a way out and an overdue fluid change was the worst he could find on the 11 year old Audi.
  21. He quoted Parker’s guide when he called to deliver the news So I think you may be right, keep your eyes peeled, he may be coming to a forecourt near you soon!
