Imagine how much better off you would be without paying any VAT.
-
For a 5 star policy, £1000 claim limit I'm paying £150 plus VAT for a 12 month. I think 6 months is £120 so not really worth bothering with IMO. The rep I use and have used for a long time within the industry is a chap called Adrian who like you is based in leafy cheshire I've know him for a long time and he is spot on. Maybe more importantly, so are WMS. That's not to say I've had disagreements but they are certainly the best I've come across by a long way.

Nothing. I include 12 months in the price of most cars. I'm always wary of up selling a product which you can't rely on, and extended warranties fall into that category for me. That said, I'm with WMS and they are pretty good, for example they have just paid out for two coil springs in the last few months.

And while your there, define 'part time'. In fact, don't bother as I'm not interested.

Dame Tango is a beauty, and where would we be without a bit of highstyle?
-
Agreed. Along with Baroness Midnight.

Interesting post Grant and music to the ears of another old fashioned main road dealer My AT rep is coming out to see my next month, if his power point presentation goes that way I think it might after hearing a few whispers I think that will be me off AT, this time once and for all.

If you don't mind me asking, what's your full time job?

We have a winner! £3500 was the 'winning' bid. I like to think I'm a decent bidder, but when you log back on to see your proxy bids were at least £500 short on stock you normally buy then it really is time to get the paint brush out.

Close, but no cigar.

No surprises really, the upward curve continues. One that caught my eye today, a 2006 x type 2.5 se, 35000 miles warranted, grade 2. 'Books' at £1375. A mystery prize for anyone who names the hammer price.

Just paid £1300 over 'book' for a Fiat and I'm quite happy with that.

I feel your pain guys. I love a Renault Espace and they have been very good to me over the years. Sadly, it's over a year since I bought my last one as more often than not they have been ending up in Kent with at least a grand more on them than I used to sell them for, and I wasn't the cheapest. As the lovely Kirsty would say, location, location, location

That 308 I mentioned did £3000. As has been said on here before, go home CAP, your drunk!
-
Ha, ain't that the truth. Probably worth a thread of it's own, but has there even been as many Tom, Dick or Harry's out there? Close to me one bloke has just called it a day. Then again if I took up plastering or plumbing I doubt I'd last very long either.

I have done away with my book, complete waste of money. Not just because of examples like this where you can forgive data blips because of what the car is but because it's happening on bread and butter stock and has been for a long time. Today I've just tracked a 60 plate 308 sport diesel with 70k which 'books' clean at £2075, yes £2075! Forget the time of year, there is as much chance of that coming for 2075 as there is of me bagging a date with Tess Daley.

I beg to differ. If maintained they are very good engines IMO. Not many disasters here, well part from yesterday I came in to find my toilet floor covered in water as it had been leaking. No big deal, apart from the fact it had been leaking into my safe which is buried next to it in the ground that houses all the car keys and some paperwork. Everything was soaked although I suppose I should be grateful as I had done some banking the day before.

Where you advised on what sandwich to go for and how much to pay for it or did you just go with your gut in more ways than one?

The fact is DA are never going to listen to peasants like us, they might however start listening to their vendors. There are many on there who do the job properly and are missing out buyers on who have just had enough with the platform because of their rogue colleagues. I don't think any buyer is expecting an AA report, but a little bit of honesty wouldn't go amiss. I also think those rogue dealers should be named and shamed, on the other hand I think those that do the job properly should also be highlighted.

Yes. It was a grand behind before the add ons

I was bored whilst Mrs S watches the soaps. There is one on BCA with a buy it now price that would stand you at cap clean all in. Grade 2, all green on the assured report. Anyway, back to searching for diesel automatic 7 seater that's not named after a spanish painter.

Hate Saturdays when you don't do a deal and your missing out on family time or golf/football etc.

Bring on the Omnishambles I say. My grade 2 407 sw from blackbushe sold without paperwork looked liked it should have history and even through my laptop, smelt like it had history so took a punt. Within two minutes of it arriving, full service history and docs have been found. Beautiful.

You really are a fountain of knowledge GG. Omnishambles, what a fantastic word. Back on planet earth, surprisingly I've had a decent buying week when I originally thought at the start of the week I had more chance of a drink with Tess Daley than buying decent stock, even more surprisingly is that nowt has come from up north as a few have come from south of the M4 and holy smoke batman, I even had a lesser spotted bargain off dealer auction. Omnishambles, I can't wait to use that word.

Absolutely. P.S Last week I bought the exact same Scenic you just recently put on FB which may have put off one or two due to the colour combination.I think it's clear we are both men of impeccable taste Edit. I have the right to edit this post if no punters agree with us and they are both sat there for months on end!
