To be fair I did this with an Audi last week and sold it in two days after having it in stock for over a month. As for Parker’s, we don’t really attract them much but do they still have the mileage adjustment tables that means you should be paying them to take away a high mileage small car?

Good to know BMW have opened dealers with salons. I thought it was just our local Audi dealer that had one along with the spa and gym for customers to use whilst their car is being serviced. Just in case you think I am taking the piss https://www.pooleaudi.co.uk/owners-area/beauty-salon https://www.pooleaudi.co.uk/owners-area/poole-audi-gym

I am probably teaching people to suck eggs but a few years back more expensive Cat C/D cars were being exported to Ireland and re imported to loose HPI markers. I have seen it done and it does clear the HPI marker (it did then anyway)

It is a little strange, manufactures are dumping standard spec new cars into the finance and rental markets but when you want anything with an option it goes factory order. Land Rover have also got a new system on their website similar to how the US market operates as you can see cars that are built and ready for delivery so they are clearly stockpiling.

We often do it but only on stuff in line with our stock profile that is in warranty. Biggest thing is to agree condition and miles before you take it away as even one of our good clients tried it on once regarding a bumper scuff.

Help with private plate swap please
Contracts replied to Blenheim Car Sales's topic in General Dealer Chat
My understanding is once the car has been yellow slipped / transferred to trade, the current owner is effectively removed from the DVLA record so sending in the V5 now for an address change will confuse things. Maybe just display the original issue number plate on the car for marketing and mention the plate come sale time, you might get a WBA supporter, worst case you retain it once the car is in the new keepers name. -

Cars can be taxed but not have a keeper but after 28 days get marked as such on the DVLA system. You need to register it as the previous V5 reference won’t work for a transfer and if it did the previous keeper would get the new V5. Once you get the new V5 back retain the plate and SORN to get a refund of the tax or use the car. -
I might be missing something here but if the car is registered to the trader your son just needs to transfer the car to trade in his name. If you mean the car has already been transferred to trade by the trader he does not need to do any more but if this was once of our trade cars we sold on again we have a standard declaration that we make the second trader sign to show they are liable for the vehicle record from that point onwards. Best practice would then be to register the car to the end buyer once sold and get them to declare SORN if it is not going to be used on the road.

People seem scared of our cars as we are open they have been lease cars either personal or business but unlike many dealers we can show them the original supply invoice and maintenance record. We have started lending some of our cheaper cars to a local independent on SOR and he has done 2 this week via Autotrader. This seems a little odd to us as we have the cars advertised for nearly £1000 less in a near identical postcode but have not had any calls on either of them.

Our drivers just need the reg and the company name that won it. Here at the moment, seems quiet and quite a few cheap late plate vans.

Fed up with 20 "best price" "last price" messages this week
Contracts replied to TangoVictor32's topic in General Dealer Chat
Have noticed it a lot more. Makes me wonder what they actually buy in the end. Had a couple look at a car last week, everything they want, have been looking for ages but keep missing them, have seen us drop the price and then bid £2k less despite telling me he was amazed it has not sold yet at that price. -
Best bet is Google Epix 1-Link. They are the real company, never trust anyone who calls you and claims to be from a company.
-
Epix 1 link are a respected player in the fleet industry offering maintenance solutions but also disposals. Have not looked for a long time but they always had mainly high mileage bland stuff.

I know this thread is crap but any Ferrari that has been into a barrier is going to be a total loss. If by some sure fluke this story is real pm me some pictures and I will advise you on how to get the car written off. P.s, If you want a replacement 488, give me a shout.

A couple of years ago I purchased a sports car and stuck my private plate on it. About a year ago a main dealer group opened a franchise for that make and directly targeted me with service and MOT advisories despite not ever taking the car there however a previous car I brought from them carried the same plate. I also got a follow up from them within days of doing an HPI check on my car. It seems there is a service similar to security watch (I believe provided by CAP) that can keep interested parties updated when someone carries out an HPI check on a car, eg a dealer for PX or if any changes are made but this is not logged within the check. This info can then be sold on as it can identify people looking to change.

I can only assume the courier or whoever is involved or else I would be tempted to take the payment and point they in the direction of our Biffa bins.

They do seem hard work on the phone. Won a 3 year old Audi online a little while back with one tyre was marked as 1mm on the mechanical check. I asked BCA twice to double check as it had had an mot only one hundred miles before with no advisories and I know collection agents would refuse to drive it. In the end nobody would check it so I had to opt for their delivery. Car turns up, tyre like new, guess 1mm was really 7mm....
-
OK, I am quite local and sometimes struggle placing 75k+ 3-5 year old stuff as we try to only retail cars still under manufacturers warranty. Will give you a shout if anything a little older turns up.
-
Out of interest what price bracket are you dealing in?
-
Tell me about it, brought a year old BMW online last week, collection agent picked it up, got 2 miles and broke down. Petrol in Diesel, no comeback. Have also had problems with clearance on a couple of cars lately that have been on stocking plans but taken ages to get off. Seems to be a recent thing leaving them on until after they are sold.

Berlingo Enterprise is the favourite small van with three seats (SLD, A/C & dash top nav) although you need to be friends if it’s a big lad in the middle seat. Also quite easy to sell on if sensible miles. Same with Partner Proffesional but they don’t seem to sell as well used.

Still seems quiet, quoting the normal dreamers but that’s it. As for Clio buyers, we had a couple of Sanderos, the buyers of those were a different ball game. I genuinely did not believe people like them existed, one potential buyer brought his mum to “negotiate”. He was a 50 plus bloke....

Today’s ULEZ news seemed to have helped motivate some people with EV and PHEV enquires, 8 leads on used stock cars, one sold, one coming tomorrow to view and show PX. To be fair the other 6 sound like they will drop out. As said is seems quiet across the board, have had a few fleet sales people and aftermarket accessory companies cold calling us today looking for business.

Have imported a couple of cars from the US, as mentioned above they were really great news when the exchange rate was in our favour, not so much now and who knows if we ever manage to sort Brexit! The fact you are out there puts you at an advantage as you can handle the export side, I would advise a container as I remember seeing a Mustang at the clearance centre that had been robbed of parts. out of interest, what are you looking to import? New US only models or older Euro spec?
