They were all at it as the fleet market is CO2 driven for BIK which is a small part of the VW Dieselgate scandal. I believe manufacturers were presenting cars for testing with modifications to the ECU just to pass the set test limits at the lowest possible emissions and Max MPG.

Don’t you read Pistonheads or other forums? If it has anything other than Mich Pilot Sport 4’s the previous owner neglected all maintenance and you are risking your life driving such a death trap! We often saw it when we entered vehicles as it’s psychological. A couple of years back we put 15 Transits into Blackbushe which went into the F&F sale. These vans were direct from a housing association and had perfect main dealer history and were genuinely mint condition however we were drawing around £1000 less per vehicle than the Lex sale which were missing history and generally neglected. I think there is the same perception with dealer direct cars as buyers think a nice teacher has owned it and looked after it really well and only swapped as auntie Doris has left them some money rather than the nasty traders trying to pass on their knocked old bangers.

There must be something with coppers, sold one a car a while back, he traveled for 2 hours to get to us and made a point of driving our car at least 30 minutes at various speeds, when we got back he spent over an hour going over it. We took his CRV PX for a drive but it was getting into the rush hour and he suddenly announced he needed to get home so his wife could go to work. As the car seemed as it should deal was done and he was waved on his way. 2 Days later our trader picked the car up, within 10 minutes he was back, the car genuinely felt like the wheels were square over 40mph, turned out the prop shaft and drive shaft were knackered (as diagnosed by the customers local garage 6 months before he px’d it)

Had a couple of the faulty fuel gauge ones done years ago by BBA Reman.

Motorway.co.uk Have not tried but my understanding is the consumer puts their car details in and they automatically send it to all the WBAC, WWAC, MFYM, EH companies.

There has been a further dip on the Sterling exchange rate recently hence a few more Irish buyers. I also expect they are trying to get in before the potential Brexit fiasco.

Was mentioned in conversation a few weeks back as headhunted people (clearly my head was not high enough). Was told they are owned by VW group and looking to only offer manufacturers approved vehicles. I am just waiting for the compare used car sites website, it has already happened for the car buying sites.

If you do sell it please let me know as I can help you with some more Vat Q ones! Trust me, unless you have 4 rings over the door you will struggle unless you are 15% off the cheapest Audi main dealer.

Is it Cat B on VRM and VIN? Have had in life cars put on the V-Car before due to input errors by insurers on either the chassis or reg when it matches a similar rental car. Ball ache to get off but they can do it.

A week last Tuesday we took a small batch of 9 cars in against a new fleet. When valuing we were nervous as they are all base spec in either black or white so we hit the values hard but full history and minimum prep. 3 16/66 118d Auto SE 4 16/16 A180 Auto SE 1 17/17 A180 AMG Auto Line Prem+ 1 15/65 Citroen C1 Feel 12 days later we only have the A180 AMG left. What gets me is our PCP payments were not far off what we do a new one for. To be fair 2 were outright and 3 went to 3rd party funders where the end user seemed to be a NINJA. It just shows that nobody can predict what buyers want, we were just going to trade the lot as they seemed so bland but decided to have a punt and it paid off. Have two latest shape Insignia Estates in next week, let’s see how they go!

We use Hills, not sure they are the best value but the girls in the office have to use the machine and it’s the only one they get on with.

I assume it’s a Transit Mk6 based. Main thing is who fitted the seats in the back, new conversions have to be crash tested but there are still people just fitting anything and they can be lethal in a collision. i would also be checking it has working A/C as I have seen conversions without in the past and they are hard to love on.

6 years, that will be a lot or rear pads, these things seem to eat them if you use the auto deactivate.

Number plate replacement removal and refit

We use the tape and fixings from Wurth, not the cheapest but never fails. -
Was it just a gasket?, a few years back we had a few failures under warranty on the 320i and they had to change the rocker cover, I seem to recall it’s plastic and warps? In the event you did get a failure on a 1.0 Ecoboost Ford still help with goodwill as long as you can show service history.

Have had some of the later 2014 onwards and could not move them unless £1k off book.

Likewise, we are ticking over with our nearly new but traders seem reluctant to take on px’s

I was concerned by Lookers about 18 months ago when they started putting auction Px’s on stocking plans and not taking them off until 3 days after the car was sold and paid at auction. We have noticed a lot of main dealers service departments (except BMW with their recall nightmare) are quiet as they are taking near next day bookings. There are also some dealers supplying new at zero margin just to hit target.

For those worried about electric cars....
Contracts replied to Grantlfc81's topic in General Dealer Chat
There are a couple of companies with very short term EV hire so not far away. Enterprise were quick with their car club, it seems to work OK apart from when there is a big event and to many cars turn up for the allocation of bays. They just need to convert that to electric, one would assume PHEV first to check it works and then full EV. -
One of our rivals does about 10% of their business without ever actually speaking with or meeting the customer. We try and have a quite phone chat before contract stage, more for security. Only last week I did an M4 via e-mail, a few extra pics, PX agreed, finance done, only met when he turned up and collected.

Personally think it’s a storm in a tea cup, mainly because there has been limited production / supply of new mainstream PHEV / EV as well as models that dropped off last year due to WLTP have not been replaced yet (330e, C350e & Golf GTE). Come quarter 4 when the new 330e comes out we will hear the BBC talking about a massive jump in PHEV sales, I know BMW dealers are going to struggle with the current demand. -
Over the past month we have had several calls on cars where the potential buyer has asked for the V5 Dispatch codes (not the main reference) claiming they need it to work out export tax. We obviously refused to give them however I have spoken with DVLA and they can’t tell me what someone could use these codes for. For the record none of the people took their enquiries any further so I assume there is some sort of scam. Any ideas?
-
Simple answer, no. You need them to tax it and complete change if keeper online. 3-4 days later when the new V5 arrives they can assign the plate instantly online. (Never guarantee this as some cars do get flagged that blocks plate transfers online)

Photocopy it before posting if you want to keep proof you were previous keeper

I always think this when I see our office on Google maps, the first picture we had loads of old vans and pick ups that had come in PX and were being collected by an exporter, the second the company next door were having a major strip out and had piled crap outside the office rather than waiting for a skip.
