  1. /\ /\ /\ This !! Proper bastard they are, I always vac the fuel up to fill the new Filter before trying to fire 'em, they usually stay running then
  2. Every one I've ever fixed (a few now) has been exactly that /\ /\ /\
  3. It's Face Fuck so of course he didn't turn up
  4. Exactly this A local twat wondered why I laughed at him today, he's just bought a V10 Lambo for £120k if he left that purchase for a few months I'll bet he coulda got the same car for half that
  5. I doubt the Fuel Cap is the cause of the EPB issue. The reason I specifically asked if it was read on decent Dealer Level kit is that age old statement "there's only one / very few codes" that I hear on a daily basis. This is because on an issue like this one the run of the mill Snap On, Delphi etc will not see all the Codes, the cheap OBD stuff is actually worse than useless too, only Dealer Level machines will see and do all. This issue could be an awful lot of things, including some speed sensors, brake light switch etc etc, and as we all know just chucking bits at it is almost never a cost effective way of repairing it
  6. Any Codes on JLR IDS machine ?
  7. That's great, guess it must be a location thing, just doesn't work for me First ever car I put on there some guy rang around midday, (remember I am NW Highlands near Skye), was a nice E Class Coupe, he asked all the usual shit sounded like a Tyre Kicker but wtf .......... He then said "I'll be round this afternoon" ...................... Yep, he was in NW London, a mere 600 + miles away
  8. My parents always hated it when I asked for stuff like a Socket Set or Welder for Christmas, rather than Bicycle, Footie Boots etc etc
  9. Really ??????????????????????? I tried that recently with a nice but leggy old Merc C Class, thought that would be bang up their alley, all I got was potless dreamer fucktards In the end I sold it to a local guy to break, got more than advertised on FB, he was asking if I had an engine for his Vito, that Car had same OM646 CDI in it as the Vito, so I worked the whole car into him to take the motor out of
  10. Ha, bet you remember old Paddy Plod he was good with newspaper, chicken wire and Mary Bakers;) I was a dab hand with Oxy Acetylene torch and metal plate, welding sills and floors and inner sills etc etc etc on Minis Mk2 Cortinas and Mk1 Escorts when I was 13 I was in with JC Autobreakers at that time used to cut sides out of Vans they were breaking, good source of Steel Plate to make repair sections from, long before the days of Brent Auto Panels ....................... Remember them ? ......................... Trade counter full of grease monkeys buying panels and all you got from the god Squad was "Please don't blaspheme in our premises"
  11. Most of us aren't sayin' what he wants to hear , cos we been there done that and gotten the bloody T Shirt many moons ago Which is exactly why most of us wouldn't have touched that with someone else's bloody bargepole
  12. Well that's exactly what I was getting at, you do at least have the right track record. I speak to many guys who start trading and are struggling, and they have never made a profit on anything, so my theory seems to be that if you can make a profit before you start Trading, then you are very likely gonna make a success and I wish you good luck. I first bought a Car at age 16 an old MOT Failer, a Twin Cam Fiat 124 Sport Coupe ...................... I paid peanuts, was gonna keep it as my first road Legal Car, so I welded it up, got it into nice condition, tested it and then some guy wanted it so I sold it .............. Made a few hundred, and that was back in 1978, been doing that ever since, and I can honestly say that it isn't very often I make a loss, and if it is it's minimal, even the most seasoned pro's get them every now and again
  13. It's all on the forum here somewhere, and yes I think there is a newbie guide done by CD Magazine, well worth it. Answer this question honestly, it is not a trick question ........... How many of the vehicles you have personally owned over the years have you made a profit on when you have sold them ? Just sayin Buying good stuff at rock bottom and completely "above board" is the only way for anyone to make money long term these days, I certainly wouldn't be starting a business right now with all the uncertainty so I wish you very good luck
  14. Surely to feck the Transport company are insured for that ???????????????
  15. /\ /\ /\ AC smack bang in the middle Whilst I too feel sorry for the OP, its a learned lesson, move on, don't do it again FFS come on fellas, who in their right mind would have bought that fuckin' porker unseen auction sold as seen ? OK, I'll start that ball rolling, I wouldn't !!
