  1. Arrrrrgh no Are you old enough to remember the TV advert .................... Very big Italian Family all at FIAT Dealership and buying Cars to go back to the motherland ................ The 'elder Iytie' says to Salesman "We a takea 3 Mirafiori weeeth a da free 'olidays and a 3 Mirafiori weeeth a da free petrol" LOLOLOL
  2. LOLOLOLOL One xmas day, well actually into boxing day, we were all horribly drunk and at a mates place, in his hot tub, he spewed up in it, Mel and I were outta that like scalded Cats before the floating debris reached us
  3. Hi, as above !! A small Compressor and a couple of air tools, like Tyre Inflator, Windy Gun etc The polishers look like Angle Grinder but run a lot slower and a speed control knob is usually also present and pretty much essential, mine is a "Silverline" EBay cheapie, and had a lot of use lately since I started painting again, seems all good so far, yeah, I use Farecla or 3M heads avoid Chinese like the plague they scratch more than they polish Don't waste your money on a cheap OBD they only pull a handful of Engine Codes, spend a few hundred on a lower end Autel Machine, which will at least read 80% + Faults in Engine, Transmission, ABS and SRS systems and erase Codes. That will see ya right for assesing lying billies with px'es and to see if your Mechanic is trustworthy until you get to know him better If using mechanic make sure he has really decent kit, (and knows how to use it, or he'll be playing Parts Darts with your money If doing your own repairs invest in a better Diag Machine like £1k to £2k and learn how to use it HTH, Oh, and for those moments where things are really technical, find a guy like myself who has Dealer Level Kit and is good and trustworthy
  4. LOL, I've been known to make a right mess of a post since my edit button disappeared and yeah, I hate my own messes
  5. No, 124 Sport Coupe a 2 dr Coupe, IIRC they were the only FIAT's that had the 2 twinchoke option, most only had a single T/C one of these :- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fiat-124-Sport-Coupe-Well-known-UK-RHD-Car-Superb-Condition/292119449896?hash=item4403ad1128:g:D1UAAOSwhvFZGzCH That one is a 1600 Twink, mine was a 2.0
  6. V5's and private plates are super quick these days but trade plates is a joke
  7. You will then most likely find you lose your Edit and Like Buttons as the rest of us did, and since yesterday the emoticons have shat'd their pantaloons
  8. :big laugh: :big laugh :biglaugh: Nah that don't work either
  9. Yeah and you need 2 of them to do a mid sized Car Ahahaha I found out how to type that one :grin but not a  obviously
  10. LOL, that's a good 'un I'm glad it's not just me, reckon we could do with a few more when someone at CDM fills up the Emoticon pot ................ Like :tosser: :dogturd: :cockwomble: :kissmyass: etc etc etc
  11. Fiat 124 Sport Coupe , 2 litre twinky with 2 x twinchoke downdraught IDA Webers ...................... I had one of those when I was 17, fastest bloody thing I'd ever driven at that age, and soooooo much quicker than my mates Mk1 Escorts / Minis / Vivas etc Still no emoticons so ............... cool ............ \oo/
  12. /\ /\ /\ lol, your perception is amazing, that's how you do so well in this trade Finished up all today's work by 12:30 and went down pub for a couple of hours, back to the grindstone tomorrow But seriously, my emoticons have stopped working, I can now only do the ones where you can type "; )" etc
  13. I did that with my initial purchase, but don't forget you pay extra on a PO, like the others said I don't suppose they'll have a problem with a cheque especially if it has your name on it as Proprietor or Director
  14. Has anyone elses "Emoticons" stopped working ? Mine have !! Or have I just simply abused them and got banned ???????????????? Too many lol's :)'s ;)'s etc etc So now I got no , no , and no etc etc as well as no Like button and no Edit Button And I never did have a :tosser: Emoticon https://giphy.com/gifs/13aE3Nj8HxO0us etc etc
  15. and stay down lights on the really old ones
  16. Hi, /\ /\ /\ yeah, you're quite correct, these days, (since last years rule changes), it is now an Automatic Fail, so my above post is bollox, please disregard, no milfs or small furry animals were harmed in the making etc etc etc
  17. Yeah, I think if you don't have a large detached place these days, a unit is way to go !! Also stops all the pondlife banging at your door at 8pm because a sidelight bulb has blown 6 months after they bought from you I'm sure you already know this, but look at yr business plan, then double the ex's and halve the income, if it still stands up, go for it
  18. /\ /\ /\ Ha Ha Ha I love that !! Never did that, but I did put captured Rats through a local "grasses" letterbox when they were on holiday .................. LOL, when we were 14, my first run in with law, (a caution) was me and a mate got stopped riding our motorbikes on local waste land / woods due to a local cllr. We made a huge "Biscuit Tin / Gaffer Tape Bomb" from Weedkiller and Sugar and used a firework "Banger" as a fuse ......................... Light blue touch paper, leg it, fuckin' humongous great bang, crazy paving flying through windows, next thing, because there was a younger lad with us at the time, he grassed, terrorist bomb squad turned up at our house, me and mate got hauled off and resulted in police caution ............... I shat myself at that age, it was when all the IRA stuff was going on, and said Conservative councillor had said she thought she was a target for IRA Man my old man was not best pleased either
  19. Fair enough, apologies etc I wasn't having a pop at you, just giving advice to the new guy to make sure that his bookwork is nice and tidy, and at very least ensure that anyone who works on his sales cars has 3rd party liability cover LOL, but as usual I waffled on with a "full story example"
  20. LOL @ EPV, we're not back in the good ole days now But how the fuck will you explain that to HMRC, and possibly more relevant, how do you explain that to the cops / civil courts / your 3rd party liability insurer if the unthinkable happens and a vehicle defect causes an accident ? First thing they will ask ........... "Who fitted the Chinese Lower Swivel that fell apart at 70mph on a left hand bend and wiped out 2 families" As the Professional Car Dealer, your arse is on the line !! Back to Red Adair quote ..................... "If you think its expensive hiring a professional etc etc" And no, I'm not trying to be the monger of doom, there is one such court case going on locally, EBay ball joint, local garage been taken on by guys with no training, all cash work, well heeled IOS lady ends up upside down in the ditch, lower swivel let go
  21. I believe, (correct me if I'm wrong and I'll go look at the current Testers Manual), but an "Engine" Malfunction Lamp is only an MOT fail if the Emissions are also high, so it would Fail on "Emissions", and Advise "EML on" but a lot of Testers are a bit confused by all these lamps .................. SRS / ABS / Traction / TPMS / Brake Wear, Brake Fluid Level etc etc ................ Yes, definite fail .................. Safety Items !! EML is more complex than that, could be a minor sensor that has no bearing on Emissions or Safety HTH
  22. Cheap "one flick of the rag and it gleams" shit, usually advertised on daytime TV, Fleabay etc, and probably "made in Guangzong district sweat shop" That stuff is so full of fillers etc it's almost like pouring a bucket of lacquer over a panel, yeah, it will gleam, but next time you want to wash and wax the bloody car you'll find it is like a gooey mess to get it off, back to the actual paintwork, and do it properly !!
