  1. I am not a techie, so be gentle. I presume they're electric and therefore the header tank does not exist.
  2. I suggest you start an Everyman type business. I.e. rent out unaffordable cars for a couple of hundred quid, return and repeat.
  3. I bet you'll still say in your video: This car hasn't been valeted ladies and gentlemen, this car is exactly as it came to me - all it has had is a quick wash, quick vac and the tyres dressed Can you tell I have watched your videos
  4. You might be right Dave but I have sold every car that has been test driven since the change. Prior to that, I had messers, wanting me to move cars and dirty the floor just for a jolly.
  5. I get all sorts, which is why EVERY car now has this displayed below the price board. TEST DRIVES ARE ONLY PERFORMED AFTER A SALE HAS BEEN AGREED IF DURING THE TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT PERFORM OR FUNCTION PROPERLY YOU ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO COMPLETE THE SALE The Focus ST was the catalyst (test pilots and they're not even quick, infact I hate the 40 year old chav mobiles). I judge the punter accordingly and if they appear genuinely willing to deal, I void my notice and offer a test drive.
  6. We have all been there mate - I was for the first two weeks of October but the tap suddenly got turned on. Only did 6, so low numbers but the margins were all into 4 figures (and one by nearly 3x that), so returns were one of my better months (May being best to date). Good luck Mat but I'm sure you won't need it.
  7. And the service history is in order.
  8. I avoid Vauxhall and Alfa but that's about it. The key is to have enough margin to allow for rework - all the cars we sell are used, they will break unless you're lucky. Keep plenty in the deal (or just wait it out for the right punter) and be prepared to use some of your bigger margin to fix the things.
  9. My only advice - keep everything in writing, no phone calls or texts.
  10. I agree with everything you've stated, except - it has to be be salted popcorn
  11. My unit has LED lighting and if anything it enhances the cars - they always look clean and with the cold white light bouncing off them they look stunning. I do have a really high roof though.
  12. There was a BMW 5 going through Wolves BCA a couple months back, repeatedly week after week, with mileage blocker found declared. I prefer Ferris Beuller's approach with axle stands and reverse gear selected
  13. I think you’ve got a nice spread of stock and clearly you recognise the crossover market is where it’s at - I agree for what it is worth. Nice site, plenty of bells and whistles but very easy to navigate.
  14. What’s your website TV - I recall seeing you CG mock up of the site, now I’d like to see real deal.
  15. Regardless how much money I end up with (even a Euro millions jackpot), I would still only get a boat which is manageable by the wife and me (the best and biggest manageable). The thought of having a crew does not inspire me whatsoever. I enjoy sailing, it’s not a status thing for me - having someone (a team) do the sailing for me makes no sense.
  16. I bet most of those are stink boats though TV - there’s a difference.
  17. Sounds like I'm taking the piss but I am not. Explan it is a characteristic of that engine, as documented by Audi themselves. Offer him a gallon of 0w30 or 15w30 (whatever they reccomend) as goodwill and then tell him he can buy more directly from you at probably 50% of what he is paying retail - you'll still make some money too. Downside being that he will be in regular contact with you and mentioning every future fault I suppose.
  18. Your Dad was a clever man. My boat cost be about £10k a year to own (not including paying for it). Marina fees, annual maintenance, anti-fouling, repairs, fuel etc etc etc. I now charter a bare boat (wife, me and our dog - see avatar) and it costs us about £3k for a week including all moorings, food, drink, fuel, hire etc. We do it once a year as our main holiday and I don't worry about the boat/bills in between.
  19. I disagree with this - I hope everyone that has interpreted the CRA as you have are correct because that would be awesome. Every car I sell is either 100% right at POS or noted on the PDI (things like aircon, radio etc) as not working. If you're correct, I would not be liable for anything - that just simply cannot be the case can it and even if it is the case, I would still be looking to fix genuine faults, whatever they may be, for 3 months, 3,000 miles. My only exclusion is tyres.
  20. 18. Warranty or not, this is your obligation. and 16. (In a nutshell and not wishing to open that can of worms). You are ultimately liable to fix faults for 6 months under CRA, so they're not stipulating anything that you don't or shouldn't already be doing. The only hope is that this "insurance" will go somewhere near to paying towards and failure post sale.
