  1. Understood ohh wise one, that'll work a treat - going to look good.. those vinyl printing shops can do some superb posters, any shape or size!! Was thinking of a couple of strictly dancers; legs n big heels etc although thinking about; probably... upset Mrs Billy when viewing .... You'll be doing the man cave between Xmas and NY...
  2. Grand, that'll do it - save on an Xmas party too, you'll be high as a kite after three coats! Good man on the Aldi copy summat with a bit of "roughage" in; and ralgex the bog seat, stop them getting comfy.. PS - check out drying times of the epoxy in colder weather.. Might help to warm the tin before application, they can go thick - quick! Thinking how long the stock is outside etc.
  3. Good choice, it can only enhance what has already been done and that looks great IMHO... Doing the "handover area" in the doorway will make it look great.. Maybe come up the walls 6" if you can be bothered, it'll keep dust right down.. They do some floor application tools for doing a large area's, or yard brush handle with 2' of wood secured to the end will help apply it in no time. I think you can get soap molds, soap on a rope etc.. all great winter projects... Just need some printed £20 note toilet paper...
  4. No sweat see how it is when it arrives, is it being driven? if so make sure the are careful jumping it if the battery is flat... Had a Volvo in spring, jump starting screwed the elec tailgate, sunroof plus ICE, eventually got is back online with reset or two.. Maybe search www for 508 flat battery /ice issues, bet you have checked that thou!!
  5. Do you know if it needed jumpstarting? these goons in the hall are always blowing ICE etc when fisting about under the bonnet, blind leading the ruddy blind.. get a fuse in it as you say, after that maybe factory hard reset.. will kick it into life.. G'luck with it
  6. LIKE, send them a coffee too! Not taking anything away from this below, I totally agree!
  7. Try one of the online parts suppliers who are scrapping if nothing on ebay,24/7 parts is one.. use a old email as they will load you up quotes but you should get the correct item them. Had some good success places as you usually only get replies from people who have the car youre looking for! Try Parts Gateway too..
  8. I can imagine it all to clearly! You will be seeing what you didnt when you were bidding online James, did you see the arsew*pes out side the hall bidding it up and walking away? No intention of buying...!! Pointy cowboy boots, Merc padded leather jacket and cant use a biro.. you get the picture.. Thing is you get to know the faces and their tricks; auctioneers favourites I was WAVING with the catalogue in the seating of the hall a few weeks back; still went online!! As you say, the hammer was down fast... two other auctioneers were so bleeding sheepish as I was clearly insight and seen... £25 increments on bids.. I wish! Sounds like you're getting the hang of it
  9. I get a newsletter daily off these guys, this caught my eye; I'd say it'll result in more trade in vehicles and they cant retail all the second hand motors - can they? Certainly explain why the supply of good stock is drying up some months
  10. Eye lad, elbows out.. next PDI as a napkin
  11. Only way to be at the block on a "field trip"
  12. Loads good advice above, the keys will go onto the cars around 5mins before they move to auction hall, some will be open though. You're not insured to start them, so be careful, I reckon it would be frowned on. Short list a couple of other cars your not so interested in but know something about to get the hang of how it works.. checking them over/bidding/prices.. Watch the auctioneers, these guys are real sharks too... bouncing prices off the wall etc Compare "sample motors" to the BCA reports, you maybe surprised how inaccurate they are. Once the keys are available on the vehicles, a driver will be along smartish whilst the car is still in the line up.. pop the boot/bonnet now, but aim to give it a good going over before this if you going to bid on it. The ones youre keen on, check it isnt leaving a pool of oil behind when its moved..... as above, treat it like a private purchase. If its one of the first through of the day, it wont reach reserve and they more than likely wont let it go; however they can "mysteriously" come back through an hour later unannounced when the auctioneer thinks bidders are warming up!.. Dont get distracted; check the start time of your auction, get a coffee and find check the ones on your shortlist, Be prepared to walk away.. I think Nick MK frequents Blackbushe so perhaps Monday is his day and for the price of coffee he may show you some more.. If possible hang around until the end; you may see some silly bargains! Best advice of all, enjoy it and take it all in.. its a learning curve.. You will be going back again, I assure you.. that's not an assured report BTW
  13. Tried clearing the cookies and all that tripe? Reboot the broadband router? Had this a while back and it did cure itself but I tried the above and know not which fixed it or which combination, if any.. Also maybe try through a different browser, if you use IE try Firefox... its got to be a compatibility issue and sh*te update their end that isnt working with current settings you have previously used. Try the wifes phone ?? Shouldnt have to go to such lengths when business customers.. BCA was tripe all last week and they reported they had faults, reloading the page a few times at least let me get my saved stuff off their for the next morning at the block... Good luck and of course, KEEP BIDDING... (best strictly accent naturally)
  14. Take it you bag a few at a time and push costs down? If distance is an issue, then delivery is the solution.. Was lucky enough to lift a Golf in June, all but full tank, smoked on off until it sold.. never put a drop in it.. Every little helps! Top points here, best by far Nick .. although when i see electric vehicles then only picture that comes to my mind is Clarkson on Top Gear taking the proverbial
  15. He will Nick, Boeing snaffled up Bombardier year and saved loads of jobs in Northern Ireland; probably the best heavy industry left over there! His airline Trump Shuttle flew Boeings (727's) in the 90's. The business I was in helped him operate them due to FAA paperwork "discrepancies" for over a year.. Got to meet the man himself in NYC & Dublin (maintenance), would like to think he may still take a call now (in my wettest dreams), never sold him a car though.. He was a business man, just wanted it sorted & paying its way.. Donald loves his a/c... His latest 757 is nicer than AF One.. media never covers the fact he sends that 757 around the US on humanitarian flights for handicap/seriously ill citizens, people the airlines wont carry.. He has always done this with his fleet, even removing seating for first aid support, at his own expense (well tax deductibles not just now he is POTUS Best quit yapping and get back to motors.. my other passion apart from anything with wings! Over and out
  16. I like the Vovlo powershift, like to smoke the odd one and would avoid a manual if it came on the radar, old habits nothing more.. Can I ask, is all this above in relation to the Ford ?? Almost pulled the trigger on a Kuga with powershift last week but walked away.. The powershift comments have my bloody eyebrows across my forehead.. I'm auction bound for a full english in the morning too!
  17. Good luck with the new site, would have thought the extra PDI work done would help avoid warranty claims? any tips to help avoid ??
  18. All positive stuff then If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going.. been there, got the t-shirt, took the cash - I'm out
  19. For a 55 mile trip would you not try and shift it yourself whilst doubling up on some other errands ? Maybe its me but under 150miles, I will put myself out... I lifted one north of Aberdeen in April, almost 400miles, got a flight for £67 & fuel was £45.. all done in under a day had overnight with family not seen for a while.. Worked a treat, but thats me.. Worked so well I lifted one from Nairn in May, got a £50 flight to Inverness.. grand ride back in superb weather along Loch Ness.. Just saying - I dont mind if i can fit in & costs stack up Thanks , book marked
  20. Good for you for finding some numbers so fast; I was referring to the A380; this one has some parts made in the UK (wings are at Broughton) https://www.ft.com/content/113efb4e-f9e2-11e7-9b32-d7d59aace167 I'm not sure where your numbers came from, however they show all A380 are "in service" when in fact there are already some retired/on verge of being scrapped as this a/c is too expensive to operate.. Also read somewhere the military transport Airbus make (propellor a/c) has seen a drop in sales, parts for this are made in Bristol (wings again I think).. Airbus supply chain will never be interrupted, unless they have a drop in sales, they have their own freighter a/c flying daily between Airbus manufacturing airports around the EU. I'd dare say it will be quiet at Airbus, I had a great time at Farmborugh this summer as a guest of Boeing... a good customer of mine (my brother) has been an instructor for them for 12yr https://www.fool.com/investing/2018/09/15/boeing-beats-airbus-again-with-strong-august-order.aspx For the Airbus production lines to work, they need orders from customers worldwide - its nothing to do with leave vote ~ its Airbus that have taken an opportunity to hide behind it..
  21. Seen the video, writing the book... are you going to have some shirts printed.. so true, never stop learning - also some never fail to surprise (public mostly)
  22. That's a good price, so will try them next time. I had a qoute a month or so back from Southend to bodyshop in Chester, that was £329 + vat. I ended up getting a train ticket myself & bringing it back for £95 inc fuel, took around 8hrs all in.
