Had an sri as a company car in 91, with the boot, totally agree with you! Was lucky then to get another and had the sri 16v hatch from 93 onwards for three years.. it was a great car to drive, cant imagine what the torque will be like in that turbo, even with 4x4, all pretty agricultural in those days.. remember a friends 2.9 sierra 4x4, sounded great and was quick but liked to wander a fair bit.. Happy days, my 16v had a clock with fingers on it and manual sunroof! both had great seats... oh the joys and how long ago was it?

The factory paint is applied in perfect conditions, correct heat - spray applications, 3-4 coats to build a decent layer/depth of paint.. in using a "blob of paint" the you tube vid I saw suggested metal flake goes to the bottom.. think it was actually in the comments below a video from an experienced painter as it was a advice/tip really - but I for sure had not thought or considered it.. Grading is from BCA vehicle grading.. but these really are for trader humor - they do not reflect reality.. Spot on EPV, route to follow here with this positive feedback.. Ta

Be good to hear how you get along; I was reading up and watching some you tube on repairs and the also this new (too me) Festool denibber, someone noted that metallic paints lose metal flake to the bottom of the "hole" when applied, thus not being so effective.. To my mind this made sense (simple mind I might add), but from experience is this case? Should it be just flat colours repaired in this way/by non professional (me) etc? therefore leaving metallic/pearlescents for a spray shop.. Cheers EPV, from my limited view on this I'm thinking the same way, be excellent if we can crack such small repairs = very doable in down time.. dare I say enjoyable too.. My decent body shop is a 3 week wait man.. Cheers both for the input...

Just think of the things you can spot over this weekend that need "denibbing".. Whole new world out there.. dont tell them down the block, BCA will make all grade 4 grade 2.. Any ideas on if this will work on a deep clear coat repair and buff up? ie filling scratch with a clear coat to fill groove then "festool away" and buff?

Tend to agree, however it will not be an individual.. its an algorithm; quite how it works for motor sales is beyond me.. as most will enter, make model colour and graze the results from there.. maybe narrow to disance/miles thereafter.... so I would rather EMP presents this type of option to buyers as they come to the site page, perhaps then.. that pink z4 with white leather and a towbar will be found, seen and called about! Right now I am not convinced the ebay retail model translates across to motors too well, but thats me.. Some undoubtedly are getting success with it.. the web is full of reported issues with ebay search broken/pictures missing/missing links/slow sales if you search it out.. many may refer to the auction site, however its this same computer that it being used to support and sell vehicles... and they are trying to worm gumtree in at the back of this.. ebay will need to moneytise gumtree soon enough. Its ROI here for us with cars to sell, ebay just wants your fees.. worth checking what your customers can see and if they contact you... on different devices too.. I tried image search for some non motoring bits last week on google, I saw what I thought I was looking for, the image was one from ebay found by google, clicked it and BINGO.. didnt exist, this happened a few more times/link broken, not all though.... it should take you through to an item for sale... image match sales is their latest gimmick, one I believe they have just admitted is flawed and given ebay sellers refunds on due to cocked up sales/lost images etc etc.. Who knows if its affecting vehicles sales, but hey; if we go back to OP.. some are getting success and some not.. and quite a few here across a few threads say calls in/visits on ebay are quiet, it may just be same across all as its summer holidays and people are now pillar box spotting etc. We are all used to web based searching of one form or another, so we are used to it.. just think about billy and the questions he asks sometimes.. how do they get to use an app effectively? Its nice to have a handle and learn what works well for your own situation and how to tweak it to best advantage, with these web clowns, its what THEY decide works for you, and when.. the latest "image match" gimmick isnt working so well, but then that begs a question has it affected the rest of the ebay search engine/site functions as a result..? Who knows ? as is the usual ffffing answer/result when your PC/App/8 plus cocks up.. Be nice to know though

IMHO & FWIW If youre looking at ebay on a desktop you will get all the facilities to search & refine any selections you have to find that pink Z4 with white leather, pro nav & pan roof etc etc the ebay app is sh*te; it has been broken on / off for months over 2018.... its not suitable for many sorts of retail sales, but in its present form not suitable for motor sales. ebay this summer has rebuilt too, to provide "image search" & this is their future! no way can you "easily" use the app to refine the selection, the screen size used also affects the search.. as "real estate" on screen is premium, ebay is driven by advert revenue.. so something has to go. In this case I'd guess some classified ad details being hidden - if customers dont see what they want, do they search or move on, lets face it.. ebay advertise other cars next to your advert! ebay is convinced apps are the future, they spout 60% of all web activity is mobile device (app driven).. It dawned on my a while back, being a desktop user for the business doesnt show what many of your customers are seeing.. hence the stupid questions.. plus we use it regularly on desktop & know how to get the best from it; buyers of cars only buy one car a year at most .. so they are not on it all the time or know their way about/narrow a search.. Its a broken system in my view, for some it works, but in general I fail too understand why views & calls remain low on ebay motors.... trying to be all things to all buyers/one size fits all/ebay need for increased revenues year on year.. hoping your vehicles get thrown up by best match/nearest/lowest price is leaving too much in their hands.. It could be AT is the place to be to sell; its history / brand etc.. but can we afford to be off any bloody outlet that lets buyers find cars..?

All good that tale, nice one! You two (EPV et AD) are going to be on the 2019 Xmas cards with optional calendar of monthly tips n fixes... Cue our friend in Glencoe, expect he has someone book in from Keflavik for new hub caps...
-
Off to order one now, FESTOOL it is for me too.. Love it when you learn something nooo on a Monday too! Thanks all
-
Good luck with it all, sounds exciting.. something youre really looking forward too.. onward and upward as they say!
-
As above, cheapest isnt always the best to sell or attract attention; with such a nice motor the punters looking at them/for them you would hope are a little more informed... hope being the operative.. good luck with it.. should be gone soon so you can pile into something else.
-
They will be lurking reading this, looking for something to cut n paste for tomorrows ground breaking insight and headline noooze!

Forgive the dum ass question. This the guy who comes on here asking for input for his research and mag articles?

Ohh now that just covers so many topics on POET's day. The sun has been over the yard arm far too long now; I will be taking a cab home later...

Heard this too.. all about central government being able to send positive signals.. virtue signalling.. they and BOE took RBS in hand and now we can pay a dividend.. arnt we all good boys.. now doubt the government being a shareholder will appreciate a dividend to prop up finances over the summer, buy May some new heels and provide some fake news as to why the arse just feel out of the exchanges rates.. how much did Fred the shred get as a pension to go with his Knighthood? and what was it Jim Royal in the Tv series used to say?

If you are going to include a shot under the bonnet, give it a rinse/wipe... looks uncared for and suited to the shitter title offered above.. therefore, just shift it at cost and move on.. and away from the pink portabog... next you will be getting advice to spray the doors/roof on the shithouse black to contrast the silver motor

Didnt the lady who comments on finance company issue post recently.. however it was removed as it was all but an advert... the content of the post was that very few finance applications are being received and she was trying to drum up business.. Therefore, if the pot to p*ss in crowd aint buying, everyone else is on holiday and love island is finished.. just who is left to buy motors at the "market level" we all need.. I hear the couple who won the lotto in Aberdeen spent some cash in an Audi dealership... expect the pointy shoe type filled his pants as it was the last day of the Month on Tuesday... The motors are getting creamed off upstream at BCA, pure SH1T this last week or so up here...

My background in the dim and distant is aviation... this is why floor paint works well and always will.. you will find many a workshop or man cave of aviation fella is done with epoxy.. just nothing else, simples.. BTW.. the corner of your workshop and new images are super, great effort to be proud of.. are you going the vehicle demo/handover/presentation area at the starage entrance in the same? Just a thought.. I reckon it would look the part to have the car start waiting for the billy/noo owner etc... Keep up the good work.. +1 on the admirers here..
-
Best not get on to local council shenanigans then had we?
-
+1 and hardly anything to cover this decision in mainstream media; just who is complicit in these matters and where does that trail end?? smaller traders have little protection and seem to be taken advantage of from every direction; there for the milking A friends neighbours were both ex RBS,, used to fly to/from Edinburgh for work, all on ex's... took early retirement in the middle of the crisis (both early 50's); both with golden handshakes, final salary pension paid up, taken at 55 for departing early/helping reduce head count etc... They were asked back on contract at £1200pw within 2 months (3 day week all ex's met!).. They bought a villa in Cyprus and do two months out there and six weeks back here.. they dont see any wrong in how their employer behaved... run two v.decent lease Mercs renewed every 24mths in the UK.... after some considerable badgering, I supplied a very decent 2012 e class cabrio for Cyprus, money wasnt a worry - cash and ohhh, can I arrange shipping out there.... FFS Non of this crowd up the food chain in the finance institutions take anything seriously, as they all appear to know they are on a winner with a guaranteed get out of jail card... and a guaranteed cash for life... I appreciate the two I am aware of above did not cause this problem of the thread, however the represent all that it wrong in the very broken system of finance and governance in the UK..

Saw an indoor site this week advertising a motor, astro turf on the floor of the whole unit...
-
Contrast great with a pink Fiat on it... looking good btw
-
Agreed in principle; however given they like to class grade 4 as 2 more often than not and take little responsibility... its nice to get the best bang for your buck with this toerags and keep that extra from bidding for your own profit.. when poss! Beat them at their own game
