Your current longest car in stock....
Lakeside replied to Arfur Dealy's topic in General Dealer Chat
Maybe I was lucky then, £1295 mine was and sold for the full asking price. It was mint, 80k and full history. Picked it up from BCA for £250+fees as it was sold with roof fault. Turned out the boot wasn’t shut properly and the roof actually worked perfectly. As for the Laguna, yes it’s a 10 plate 1.5 diesel, again with full history but not had a sniff. -

That surprises me, I bought one two weeks ago, Sold in under a week with good margin and the phone rang off the hook. Longest currently in stock is a Laguna diesel estate I’ve had for three months without a phone call. -
Yea since GDPR law changed previous owner doesn’t show on newly issued v5’s.
-
Have BCA stopped passing on invoices now as well? Might just be coincidence but that last few cars I’ve bought, even with full history, have only come with the service book and nothing else.
-
Decent but wouldn’t say it will break any records. I think sales must be quiet in general up this way as this is the first January in years where auction prices have stayed resoanble all month. I’ve not had any problems buying and all with good margins.
-
The way I read it is there was never a guarantee the new model would of been built in the UK anyway and it won’t affect the Quashqai production. Downturn in diesel is probably the main reason, same with JLR, but obviously Brexit will be used as an excuse.
-
If he sold it to Evans Halshaw it should of gone through Pendragon not UKCGR?

Keyless entry and obd theft is a massive problem now. Fords are one of the easiest to bypass apparently, fiesta’s and focus’ are going missing by the ship load. I follow a local stolen cars page on Facebook and there’s at least 10-15 cars a day being reported stolen on there just within a 30mile radius. Plus there’s bound to be more stolen and not posted on there if owners aren’t on Facebook.

That’s nothing, you obviously never experienced the old bca banners glued to the screen with pritt-stick!
-
One thing I have noticed with bca online recently is the “hall” bids seam to go up quicker than the auctioneer which I can’t understand. i.e online will be showing hall bid £2000 when auctioneer is still at £1900 then they’ll start spouting £2000 a couple of seconds later and online will be up to £2100 etc. Seamed to be happening on most cars this week.

zafira 1.9 cdti to buy or not to buy....
Lakeside replied to DBDlloyds's topic in General Dealer Chat
Really? I thought it might of been the PSA unit as Vauxhall are now owned by them. -

Lakeside replied to DBDlloyds's topic in General Dealer Chat
Yup I was about to post the same thing, Vauxhall never really had their own Diesel engine apart from maybe the old 2.0dti from the Zafira A/Astra G, they just used other manufacturers. Even the 2.0cdti in the insignia/Astra is just a bored out 1.9. -
I recently had a 12 plate 1.6tdci mondeo in with 184k on the clock, full history every 10k from new and it honestly drove like the day it left the Ford showroom. Couldn’t fault it at all, even the bodywork was near mint. On the other hand though I also once had an ex driving school Peugeot 207 with 170k and it was definitely ready for scrap. Every part on it was completely knackered.
-
Ditto with Peugeot 308’s, they’re just so cheap at auction I can’t stop myself but my god it’s come back to bite me many times!
-
Prices haven’t been as high at BCA in the midlands than they have at this time in previous years, but that could be due to their high stock levels? As stalker said they seam to have a lot of cars at the min, maybe a backlog due to having no auctions over the Xmas period? Who knows, but every sale at Walsall, Measham, Perry Barr, Wolverhampton and Derby this week have been stacked full.
-
Few cheap cars at Derby today. Prices were decent to be fair, not much hitting Cap clean.
-
Exactly, if you get outbid by a sniper on eBay then what’s the issue? It’s obviously gone over the highest entered bid you was willing to pay anyway. Even a sniper tool will only bid to the other bidders highest bid, so if yours was higher you would still win regardless of how last second it was.
-
What auctions are you attending? That would still fetch over cap clean here
-
Just shows how much stock EH have coming through the door. Retailing 25k + cars yet still sending thousands a week through BCA. Must be coming from their buying service that guarantees to beat WBAC quotes?
-
Pre 05 were the Chrysler engine with the crappy Peugeot/Rover gearbox. 05/06 onwards are the crappy PSA/BMW joint venture prince engine that’s also fitted to all petrol Peugeot’s, Citroen’s and the 1.6 petrol 1 series.

When we first got our trade card we asked bca if they could give us a list of buyers fees between levels of cards and they refused. All they said to us was “the more you spend the more you save”

Your favourite auction bidding strategy...
Lakeside replied to Nick M.K.'s topic in General Dealer Chat
I got close once! Sent a mate up to BCA a couple of years back to bid on a few cars for me as I was busy. He thought he would be funny and found it hilarious to prank me and buy a Salmon pink Corsa C out of UKCGR no reserve for £75. Owed me about £120 all in with fees! To be fair it wasn’t all that bad and probably could of made a drink on it but gave it away in the end to someone that was desperate for a car. -

I never go straight in as some auctioneers are a bit cheeky and if 5 bidders all raise their hand at say a £1000 initial bid instead of taking it as one bid they’ll count along the raised hands up to £1500. I’ve seen that a few times, wrong in my opinion. -
BCA phone app finally released
Lakeside replied to ExCouncilJobsworth's topic in General Dealer Chat
May work on the latest iPads, mines a couple of years old now but no, all I can do is view catalogue and see the current lot on sale with the bids going up and a bid button to bid myself. -
BCA phone app finally released

I use BCA online on the iPad but it’s even more of a risk as there’s no live video feed or sound like you get on a pc/laptop. Literally is like buying blind.
