  1. The servo assistance on these cars comes in the form of an electric pump rather than vacuum from the engine. It is normal for the pump to buzz when the system requires more vacuum, from memory it buzzes every few presses of the pedal.
  2. My thoughts exactly.... we had one of them and it was exceptionally good at gathering dust on the pitch..... The Shitroen is a very brave purchase.... However it will sell eventually, Ive just checked the price on the Autotrader and it seems ok.
  3. Ive just had one one a 15 Plate Audi A6 TDI 190BHP - Saying the turbo is making a noise! I said "well im glad it it is, cos if it wasn't making said noise the turbo isnt working" Hes off to price up a turbo! Pillock
  4. Its a bit like going home for mi tea this forum, same shite different days!
  5. On some ford sets you can get the serial number by pressing a couple of buttons, then I phone our local ford dealer (parts dept) and he gives us it for nowt. I do usually like to praise the guy and tell him how good he is at his job to help it along a little
  6. We had a guy keep coming in for over 15 years... walked like he shit his pants, we all avoided him because he asked multiple stupid questions... anyway Last year he walked in and bought an Audi A1 for his wife.. We all nearly fell over after he paid for it!
  7. Jees, you must be an eternal pessemist. Should they be colour coded, we may invest in a touch up pen or painting (sometimes you can swap the cap). As OCS said, working ones emit a clicking sound. Any workshop that cannot reliably diagnose and repair a parking sensor fault should pack in and do something else. Faulty ones? Crikey... .I have never had a faulty new sensor... should i get a faulty one i would defo send it back and get a replacement.
  8. They are a very primitive system parking sensors, and can usually be diagnosed and repaired cheaply. If you can work out the faulty sensor then get the part numbers off the unit and search Ebay, most of the time they can be picked up for under £20.
  9. Crikey.... how many cars are you looking to buy? They have 891 cars in todays sale!
  10. This thread is a blatant form of peacocking in my eyes. Yes BHM I frequently hear bullshit tennis too at the auctions.
  11. Its a bit like dating, if they don't turn up.... look for another date. If you chase them you end up looking like a bunny boiler.
  12. If you send him an email he will probably have one of those corporate spiel automatic replies.... "I'm sorry I am currently working out of the office and will not return until 1.45pm on Tuesday 26th June 2018. My Personal assistant will aim to have a reply to your email within 88 hours"
  13. MOTAB cars have always smelled of urine, dogs, cigarettes, horse shit, cannabis, human shite, and the auctions cleaning porducts on top..... we have finally decided that these cars cannot be bought without first having sniffed the interior.
  14. This is very common for this engine to need the walnut shell blasting done, its worth doing as a matter of course on this engine.
  15. Whilst i agree with this a little and are happy to let some things slide, as an industry we really ought to be putting them to task on everything that they do wrong..... Also if the shoe was on the other foot and we owed BCA £40 they would most definitely threaten court action.
  16. I would bang that in the auction local to us and probably get £250 back for it. #nofutherdramas
  17. T.V don't waste your breath.... this guy knows it all. Apparently according to another post hes lost literally a million pounds upon startup.
  18. Hi Arfur Can you get reverse ok when the engine is not running? Linkage/Selector turrets used to seize on Vauxhall’s with the same engine in.
  19. Yes your right, i usually take their report with a pinch of salt (sugar actually to make it taste sweeter). However, if the report says the tyres are good.... they should be good. I have never ever heard of anyone getting their account closed. However its a bit of a fobbing off excercise for them, they fish out the weak claims by attempting to fob you off for a while, however when you push them for their "final response" before court action they ALWAYS back down and help out.
  20. I have to say, your negotiation skills need sharpening. BCA are basically asking you to fit some part worn tyres to a vehicle....? Our insurance company stipulates that we do not get involved in part worn tyres. I would have pursued them for the full cost of fitting both tyres.
  21. Ocs.... whilst I’m chuffed for your roaring success. I'm not sure your post will help Pete. whilst your on fire, I think you may have just pissed on Pete’s chips
  22. We should probably make one of these threads a sticky. These questions constantly get asked by newbies and always attract the same answers.
