Yes there was two codes for Soot accumulation - im guessign this was the 237% saturation that i couldnt clear without doing the software update - the question is... WHY? Why didnt it zero when i told the car it had had a new DPF?

First he wanted to be a car dealer... then he wanted to be a car dealer and a garage owner.... Now he wants to take on Autotrader! What next? Should Richard Branson be looking over his shoulder in case he starts selling day trips to the moon! Watch out Elon! .... Lucas is coming!

Yes we have done quite a few of those strange looking type sensor ones too. This one is a MK2 Kuga - the sensor us underneath next to the DPF on this model.

When the "award winning" supermini asked how much profit he was making, he only made allowances within the £50 inc vat for Labour and materials! I have to note, we struggle to net £125 from a £200 service, without pulling a customers pants down. But then again... were not an "award winning" dealer.

I couldn’t sleep at night if I sold a powershite gearboxed car.... Ive mistakenly bought two over the years and sent them both straight back to BCA as I thought I was buying manual cars. They even try to palm them off!

Well I had a right old head scratcher in our workshop between Christmas and new year. I had given our main mechanic the week off and I only had my 23 year old fitter/ question asker / torch holder in to assist me. We had a customer bring a Ford Kuga back in for a re occurring DPF fault that we had in with us in September and had fitted a new glow plug to the vaporiser and given a regen, I thought we had seen the back of it. It came back in with a blocked DPF (300% full) and a faulty temperature sensor this time. It was on the bones of its arse in regards to diesel too (I had educated the customer in September... but chose not to listen to me). Anyway we couldn’t get the car to do a forced regen as ther was a code that wouldn’t clear in the ECU. Translated it said that the vehicle conditions were incorrect for a DPF regen. It didn’t matter what we did to clear the adaptions we couldn’t get the car to read less than 237% dpf saturation. Anyhow, we ended up using our Bosch KTS to to a pass thru software update from ford over the internet. £21 for the software from Ford and it reset all of the learned values, new temp sensor and a regen... now reading 15%! The he good news is we sorted it without a visit to ford where no doubts they would have wanted to fit a whole new car before doing a software update I have never really bought into the software update theories, anyway... our younger tech wants to do software updates on everything now, even for unevenly worm tyres!

None of the above, A well prepared/equipped workshop costs a lot of money, unless your doing a service on a trolley jack with basic tools outside in the car park, I would imagine you would make less than any of your calculations. The profit from the simple services helps to pay for the head scratching jobs or the ones that go way wrong too in my experience.

I would like if the OP could confirm what time the funds were sent?
-
If a payment is made outside of banking hours it can be recalled/cancelled right up until 1 minute before the next banking hours/day begins. It will show as ready to clear on the receiving banks online banking against the following days date (but won’t be cleared funds). i think the best practice is to only accept these payments between 10am and 4pm (banking hours)

Hi Miles This sounds bad, what time did the transaction take place?

The Delphi will read the power steering fine and give him the torques sensor fault code he’s looking for

I’m not called Dave.... however if you have a spare laptop I can recommend a cheapo copy of the delphi diagnostic from eBay/amazon. Search for DS150e and you can pick up new ones for about £50. These can be run off a laptop and can do most things before 2014 adequetly. Other than that, your looking at hundreds of pounds.

1. So when your accountant does their calculations for assets etc, your stock will be valued at its stand in value. If you add your own car to the stock, it will add to the value of your stock. 2. It would be directly form company funds, however every journey you claim for must be logged correctly. ps. Its not against the law to ask your accountant to explain something in plain English -
Have you got a set of injector noid lights?
-
Get a multimeter on those injectors

Everything is negotiable, there must be a smaller independent auction. We would make it presentable and bang it in our local auction (Wilson’s) be sensible with your reserve.
-
Do you not put these cars in a local auction?
-
Id swap injectors around, check them with a multimeter for high resistance / open circuit whilst you have them out. Swap 1 + 3 around to see if the misfire moves? Have you checked the inlet manifold for leaks?

That you have a car for sale and a pulse.
