Can Anyone Help me with a SKODA Fabia 2005 Electric Windows issue
Stalker replied to Dave2302's topic in General Dealer Chat
Dave, in vag com you can usually read the measuring blocks for the window switches and see what they are doing. -
Right.... Mark. Back on topic. We have a Pug 308 1.6 HDI that has been plaguing the life out of us for a couple of weeks. DPF filling up too quickly, EGR sticking, probably the root cause i reckon. Its soaking in Mr Muscle as we speak. The give away for us, was when we turned the engine off and the EGR did its self cleaning process, it sounded like a barn door opening and shutting (No EGR codes have ever appeared).

Do you not know of somebody that has moved away or isn't around anymore? (polite way of putting it) Your don't need a "Criminal Lawyer" What you need is a "Criminal ..... Lawyer" -
I hate it when i drop the buld inside the light unit and i cant get it, those big capless ones are the most annoying cos the magnet struggles to get them too! Then i end up with chewing gum in the light and sticky tape and pencils and allsorts.

Special treatment no doubt On all VAG cars wiring plugs between door and body go all green an foisty, wiring snapping between is also mega common. I wonder if she tried to fire them down when they were iced up? Blown motors? Can you put a live to the motor and get it to graft? Temic motor? These are the troublesome ones on the old Megane too from memory? -
I presume, he means that people often don't thank or even acknowledge his replies? Boring Dave..... Ignore them all, I enjoy reading your posts, its a shame they removed our like buttons.

You can pass a car between the trade and notify dvla in writing without adding a keeper to the v5 -

Take the DPF guts out and drive it, if it smokes like a bastard... it needs fixed! Joking aside... do you have the old DPF? You could gut it to see how its running without a DPF in .

ECJ on this occasion you need to use the MTFU method in calculating the customers address. And dont do do it again. We we have one ongoing at the moment where a trader we sold the car to is denying ever having owned the car and it’s racking up parking tickets all over Newcastle! -
Well ROW... this comment will surely ease your mind and has helped you no end. ps. I thought the same, however didnt want to say it. pps. Dave from UP North might have a better suggestion (i hope it doesn't involve a flammable substance and a naked flame)

Exactly, we have a Peugeot 308 that it taking the piss out of us at the moment..... It has to be filling up too quickly.

Definitley, the bladders leak occasionally as they chafe through inside the case they sit in. Mark, try the DPF doctor website, I know i recommended it on your Volvo problem, they have a good network of guys that know all of the DPF faults and will probably nail it in the first visit. The top guy from them is local to us and he holds DPF training days. He is extremely knowledgeable in all DPF faults on a wide variety of different makes and models.

I’ve just had one, as already stated as long as your paperwork is in order you will be fine. They do like computerised everything too.

Jaguar X type estate tailgate glass common issue

If you really wanted to go to town, you could always buy an aftermarket momentary switch and retrofit it. something along these lines, maybe a little more discreet, ive seen it done on the mk2 Focus before. -
I bet it wasn't an AGM or and EFB type. Oh and by the way, im from Yorkshire... believe me... if i can get a battery for 50p less tomorrow... ill wait

The battery was fine, it was the cars presumption/calculations that the battery was not holding a good charge. At £165 a pop i don't think there would be many seasoned traders replacing a battery on a car starts on a -5 deg morning. I will change it if it goes off next week, however i have my fingers crossed it works for another 8 weeks until the frost disappears in a morning

Im gonna kick off with this one, Sold a MK5 Mondeo to a regular customer, phoned up asking us to look at why the heated front windscreen wasn't working. Googled it first and found several people mentioning about battery not being charged up enough, so as soon as it came in i plugged it into the diagnostic machine and noticed that battery charge was at 45% and the battery was 1145 days old. Told it the car had a new battery installed (even though we didn't change it) and then the battery charge went immediately to 78% and the heated screen started working! I'm glad we go out mitts on it and not the main stealers, where no doubt it would have got:- 2 Hours Diagnostic One New battery Software update £465 all in (guestimate)

zafira 1.9 cdti to buy or not to buy....
Stalker replied to DBDlloyds's topic in General Dealer Chat
Their own MDE (Medium Diesel Engine) is poor in my opinion. not sure about the newest, they should be better if they use somebody else's engine. I didnt mind the 1.3 cdti, or the 1.7 cdti (izuzu and izuzu derived form) as Dave says, if its well maintained they are fine... The 2.0 Inshitnia engine however is in its own league of shitness, and it doesn't matter how much you service one of those they still go wrong. -

Their new 1.6 CDti engine is their own, and I don’t reckon much to that! -
As Justin says, they have thermal overload protection inside the motor. You don’t necessarily need to remove the door card, I put lashings of silicone spray on the glass edges and send the window down, it usually does the trick.
