  1. It takes a good while to build the online presence and for it to percolate. Did you try that paper ad? Ours is weird: one week we’ll be offered one or two, the next four or so and then nothing for a month.
  2. How’s the buying off the public going? Much joy?
  3. Am I right in seeing they didn’t decide to make it in Europe either but Japan? So, being mostly owned by Renault, you might have thought otherwise if a Brexit thing. When I read the article, I thought it was just the usual headline grabbing tabloid sensationalism, but I must admit to not taking much notice now of all the Brexit stuff and scaremongering. I agree. Some news of any sort is needed.
  4. Pretty good January, but slowed right down in the last week or so of the month Quiet so far for Feb too, with only one on the board, and not many enquires as yet Lots of stock, so not too worried, although Feb is often mediocre for us.
  5. I respectfully disagree BD, and I weirdly like spotting a car I’ve sold in the past (that I’ve usually well forgotten about). Nice, professional, lipped plates do wonders to a car sometimes, and at the least, it helps build your brand’s profile. I too like rear window stickers but can understand why others don’t. My favourite was printed tax disc holders - still have some in a drawer at work that I can’t bring myself to throw away What grief can you get years after the event? If anything, it’s a selling opportunity.
  6. A local printing company will make you some up and won’t be much. I have some for any cheaper junk I agree with EPV though, especially on some of those heavier bits of stock you have, it’ll look crap. Just get some plates made up that’ll advertise your business -20 quid for a nice lipped set. You could just put them on cars you sell locally.
  7. Yeah, customers (people registered with them I think) can search for stock I believe. I was asking the same question as you really: have others got their stock on, and if so, what is the response?
  8. Oh right. Sorry. I see what you mean No charge (other than the Click Dealer monthly charge obviously) as I guess it is in MN’s benefit like you say I don’t think it’s because of the IVendi tie up but I could be wrong. Have you signed up with Zuto btw so your stock is on with them? That’s outrageous, but I’m not surprised. Squeezing every shilling they can. When did that change?
  9. Hey A. Ours is done via Click Dealer/Motonovo (Am not with Autoraper as you know.) We get a few finance enquires a week (as many as we did when we were on AT ) but, not as many as others holding newer stock /more bread and butter stuff etc. Also have the IVendi ‘soft search’ on the site but not sure it’s worth the monthly charge really, but does work in fits and starts. Have a look mate.

  11. This is why I just look at what’s ending that day. Under 70k, petrol, margin only, etc and then put in watching what I’m potentially interested in. I quite like the Manheim site over BCA, but it’s like Apple and Android I suppose. I’m very much Apple. You’ll get to grips with it after a while. BTW kMoney For Motors’ is like WBAC so be careful with them.
  12. Consider yes. Avoid, no. People who want a big old lurch or smoker or a bit of performance know hey have to ‘pay the piper for the privilege’. It probably still works out cheaper for them than spending 16 grand on a new Fiesta. Some of these higher tax cars - especially auto- sometimes attract people on disability or whatever, where they get free tax.
  13. Well put. You miserable old git ;0) x
  14. I think so, but I don't think they're to expensive, so might be worth doing both sides for her, but you know that better than me. I just buy and sell the junk ;0)
  15. drivers window motor/module from memory on these. electronic control unit which is integral with the drivers window motor. Was a while ago though
  16. I remember years ago having to take a Peugeot to the Main Dealer's so they could tell it it had had a new (Xenon) headlight -via connecting to the main frame in France or some bollocks. Think it was one of the first where we had to take the wheel off from memory to get it out. Was one of the first I'd come across as I say and I remember thinking it was ridiculous.
  17. People don't acknowledge posts, including my posts often, (sniff) but I don't take offence. That'd be boring ;0) and time consuming to acknowledge everything. I'm sure everyone appreciates everyone and their contributions- I know I do.
  18. Hi - I know what Dave will (wisely) say to this, but I've had many -particularly german crap- autoboxes go wrong over the years (one of the reasons I try not to buy anything german) and I've often been lucky in finding a guaranteed second hand box and having it delivered to and installed by a very good firm I know in Poole. When I've not been able to find a suitable box, they have always sorted it in the price range of 700-3k max as you've mentioned. I've not had any NIssans go wrong, but the odd older renault (I guess it's the same). More often than not, the spend has been around the £7-1000 mark if not a rebuild. Just a thought, but your other option would be to blow it out for a small loss hopefully through the block.
  19. Trouble is, there’s so many using French engines (I don’t mind French and much prefer to German junk): Jaguar Mini BMW etc all use Peugeot engines for example.
  20. I don't think I can recall a year in the last 20 where stock hasn't been a struggle to find to be fair. Might just be me. It's definitely true about main dealers holding on to/having a go at stuff they would have traded previously though.
  21. Brilliant. You should have taken a picture!
  22. I (honestly) had an email the other day the other day offering to pay six grand (cash mate whoo-hooo) on a ten grand Jag.
  23. Weird. Do Ok with CG. As does Rory I think. I am on the paid version though and I use a second work email address to reply as I think a lot of them go in spam or junk folder. Most leave a phone number to be fair. (I’m not saying it’s brilliant, it’s not, but it definitely brings business in and more than pays for itself.) ebay has gone a bit quiet again though I must admit. Trouble is, the website is heavily publicised on the eBay ads etc, so who knows how many type the website in from there....
