You’ll be raped for a pile of scrap down there. Who are these few name changers, I’m still trying to work out who they are
-
Don’t despair! I sold a car last night! Yippee! Only a fortnight since my previous sale! Mind you, no other proper enquiries
-
+1. Although my own personal thoughts are with “Marc” the reality in truth is this. Never mind £3-5K, with small cars even if it’s £1500 on an 09 then 100,000 miles+ kills them stone dead (I know, I’ve got one and haven’t opened the door). In my mind those miley Corsas (and all small cars) are virtually unsellable. Unfortunately the small car market is fickle & full of fussy short-arm/deep-pocket punters.

Too me that’s how democracy, and the voting system, works. After all you can’t count votes that weren’t cast in the first place. Who said never talk about politics & religion Anyhow in answer to earlier posts, personally out means out. It doesn’t mean half in/half out, or we’ll have some of this & pay them some of that - it’s OUT. Nowt to do with the colour of people’s skin, ‘funny’ accents, strange dress or any other racist card the bleeding heart liberals wave - it was purely a financial decision on my part. We contribute more than what we receive (understandably) so why contribute in the first place? If I washed my money through a bank & got less back I’d change banks. Good luck to our fellow man, but I have no interest in propping up the finances of Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Spain or half of Eastern Europe for that matter.

Too true! Years ago I had a C32amg & funnily enough the gearbox started acting up within a week. Another German gem I was glad to see the back off.

Out means out, or at least I thought it did! We have a trade deficit (i.e. we consume more in goods than we sell their way) so we should have the whip hand against the E.U. but these pillocks couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery. Mainly Germany but also France SHOULD be quaking in their boots about our tariffs on their goods but they must be laughing at us and we’ll no doubt be paying a divorce bill as well as honouring our financial commitments to E.U. projects - it’s a disgrace. The rot set in early in negotiations when we made the first move, confirmed there would be no forced repatriation & that people weren’t up for negotiation - a sop to soft lefties & liberals. Sorry but EVERYTHING should of been up for negotiation. Back on topic Dead here, no emails, only three phone calls & the last sale a fortnight ago. It’s (almost) spooky because it’s as though all forms of communication have been lost. Everyone I’ve spoken too is dead & even the main dealers are absolutely dead - all people are interested in is cheap beer from the supermarket. School holidays in a fortnight, consumer credit maxed out, more Brexit worries - let’s hope it picks up soon
-
A belated thanks, the car went as it is. After looking at Dealer Auction there’s be a few on their over the last fortnight & all made more money ‘trade’ than I advertised mine at, with a half-decent profit, so it was a no-brainer.
-
Christ, give them a chance! You’ve not even seen the damage, they haven’t even started repairs & you’re already wanting to reject it due to unsatisfactory repairs. Get real.
-
I’ve heard it all now - I can’t believe people turning their noses up at cash. Some people have no imagination.

Best background colour for exterior photo's ?
BHM replied to Arfur Dealy's topic in General Dealer Chat
+1. Oddly enough I normally prefer outdoor photos but I think AD is fortunate in that the lighting in his unit is about spot on. -
You’re not alone. Come trade-in time at main dealers even they’re not interested - most don’t even ask about history. It’s reg. no., mileage and a desk top valuation.
-
When I know of a reason I’ll let you know. All I can say is the feedback from the main dealers obviously differs from my own opinions.

Too true! EPV is thinking too hard over a high mileage estate car. Wait & see what it’s like when you get it (a service could be the least of your worries), I’d MOT & if you must then give it a basic oil & filter engine service - £20 of materials. No offence intended but if you think you’ll get your £500 back from the punter you’re mistaken - even then why on earth would you put £500 into a car just to get the same £500 out?. That’s not adding value, that’s working for nowt. A major part of this game is about controlling costs.
-
Correct & very few Zaf owners will care either way. Personally I leave them all on (4x4 & estates here), I think the last time I removed one was 4 or 5 years ago on a Corsa, The days of punters worrying about what it’s been towing seem to be long gone & those punters who do worry about clutches will be checking the clutch for 20 f***ing minutes anyway whether or not it’s got a tow bar.
-
Their percentage residual values don’t look bad though so there must be a healthy market for them. I buy the occasional p/x from a Dacia dealer & glancing at the cars in the showroom, for the money, they look plenty of car for the money - which I guess is their intended market. There was plenty of sneering at Ssangyong, who appear to be plodding on nicely, and in the dim & distant past Kia/Hyundai.
-
Excellent. I’ll use this on my next CHAMPAGNE TASTE, LEMONADE MONEY punter who needs to INCREASE THEIR BUDGET OR LOWER THEIR EXPECTATIONS.
-
Hmmmm & there was me hoping for £10-bottle-of-plop fix or a quick clean of the magic fu-fu valve. It’s MOT time for the old farm hack so I’ll have a look whilst on the ramp, scratch my head and take it from there. Thanks for all the help

Same day, or on a night sale 12 noon the next day. I certainly won’t be left dangling over my money by a third party.

I suspect I know the answer to my question but hear goes. 11 year Subaru estate, non turbo, some whine with power on in 3rd & 4th plus slight whine in 5th. In all my years I’ve never had a noisy Subaru ‘box. It’s borderline sellable (the sound’s far from deafening) but has anyone came across this and is there a CHEAP (notice the capitals) fix? i.e. oil change? ...here goes.
-
Hmmmm...a broker said. I’d be more interested in insurers’ thoughts although tbh I’ve not been advised of any change & will continue to add all of my cars - I honestly can't see the problem of having your cars on the MID.

As bad as Leeds?

An excellent resource now that mytimingbelt has disappeared.
