  1. Nick I’ve never paid for a wheel refurb:) just buy some Halfords workshop primer £10 and simonize gloss black, you don’t even need to take the wheels off the car, just spray onto the tyres... when dried jet wash the overspray off the tyres... simple Tip... spay the wheels when the car is on grass (no paint on the floor) then lawnmower off for no evidence
  2. It has to be a car by car decision, there is no fast rule. I personally like black because it only costs me the price of a simonize can
  3. I don't doubt that for a minute I certainly wouldn't be threatening legal action over such a small amount of money, you could argue the tyres were quoted as having 40% of tread remaining, thus 40% refund or there about.... You win some and lose some with the Manheim and BCA.... Lets remind ourselves of all the times when the car arrives and it is much better than graded, with new tyres, new brakes, undisclosed spare key, a wallet full service history, service book in the boot....... its "swings and roundabouts".
  4. Newbies, this is what years of experience teaches you. There's money in the bangers !!!
  5. BHM, I'd rather sell it to someone who'll appreciate a cheap prepped up car than an eBay webbed footed mud plugger. GB sticke in the post, last owner for 5 years, been used to ferry the kids, lots of service history with a belt change. Last MOT no advisories. Wait til you see the finished video...... BTW, this car is the result of a PX on a PX on a PX on a PX....... I wonder if there will be another...
  6. Halford's...so I've been robbed already One cracked on application.......
  7. TV, Nicks a good guy we got on well on the old AT forum, helpful and informative with a very good understanding of the CRA.... I admire someone who gets off their ass and builds up a solid business by themselves and does it correctly and ethically.
  8. A clutch is £65, my mechanic is pretty sure it'll solve the issue.. Advertising it with a new clutch just fitted plus a fresh MOT & service will be a great selling point... It owes me £25 for a set of wheel trims so far
  9. Guys, its arrived "project Bravo"...... I'll post up a video showing you its condition....
  10. Your right, it owes me nothing it should be arriving later today so I'll give an update later. There's £££'s in the bangers .... !!
  11. Because, if they can’t afford to buy a banger they certainly can’t afford to maintain it. These are the worst type of customers / pond life.
  12. It’s not a serious fault therefore your customer is ill informed about rejection (she needs politely educating) You have offered full repair even though plugs are a consumable, a failing MAF would also down to its age and fair “wear n tear”. I generally fix anything within 30 days as a gesture of goodwill.
  13. Hi, what is the fault, the car and the price paid ? Full refund in the first 30 days for a serious fault only.
  14. And the big one, a fault which constitutes fair “wear n tear” is not covered.
  15. IWell surely the whole point of the IMDA should be to help and support ?
  16. Are you a member of the IMDA ? Surely you are ?
  17. Nick, surely this is exactly what the IMDA should be shouting about....
  18. Hi guys, the owner of this Italian gem has had it 5 years wants to just dump it with me and take his new car away (paid upfront) no problem I say ..... He says the only issue with it is that its getting really difficult to get into reverse.... I've Googled it and it seems common...possibly just an adjustment ?? Has anyone got any magic ideas or cures
  19. For the principle of the IMDA to work the leaders have to be voted in.
  20. Not sure if that’s true Nick. Manheim announcement was in September. Mr Northard would have been fully aware of his intentions many many months prior to the announcement. But.. there’s no point on splitting hairs. Too add. I have always wished and continue to wish the principle of the IMDA the very best of luck.
  21. Why advertise something you cannot sell, you just annoy potential buyers. There's a seller in Cheshire who's website shows 24 in stock but its just pages of sold... when you look at his actual stock its only 6 cars.
  22. French door straps are rubbish. Horrible build quality.
  23. I have to agree with Grant. You’ll start with the best intentions to just buy 20k stock and then the inevitable big hit will happen and you’ll start to rethink your strategy. I like your website and you clearly are articulate and enthusiastic. If you are passionate about BMW’s follow your nose, people buy from people who are knowledgeable and passionate. In this game we all do things differently, so when being offered advice cherry pick what’s right for you. At the end of the day you are turning the first page of an unwritten book, you write the story. Best of luck ! Simon
  24. Thanks guys, seems to be working now
