I don't blame you, I'm also a fan of the 200 - but that colour interior doesn't look good.

Landbeasts have got one in, go onto their Facebook page.

Clarke Jumpstart 4000. Used it for around a year now, never let me down. Circa £130 from machine mart

We stock mostly ex fleet cars so they're all pretty much diesels between 4-7k. The last few months had felt slower than usual so we got a few cheap petrols in to see what would happen. Second half of October, we almost sold out, all the diesels have gone and I'm left with the petrol cars although have sold a few of them too. No one seemed to be complaining about diesels, they all seemed bothered about low road tax and cheaper fuel costs. Can't understand this game.

Hi guys, how do you deal with cars bought from auction that have had the DPF removed by a previous owner? Do you sell it as it is, inform the customer? Or install a new DPF. I have noticed a few adverts now where the seller has declared they have had the DPF removed but I think we could fall foul in the future due to stricter MOT tests coming in next year to check for removal. Thoughts?

I've only had it done once and that was someone with the Vauxhall computer (Tech2?) they have to go through a process of divorcing the old unit before remarrying it to the new. He charged me £20. I pick up the units with display for £20. So yes it can definitely be done by a decent auto electrician!
-
The display is linked to the head unit, at some point the head unit has been changed but not the display hence the SAFE message. Easier just to buy another unit but make sure it comes with the display and change both.

Problems registering ex mod vehicles
DHill replied to Hartley Cars Ltd's topic in General Dealer Chat
Don't think there is an easier way I'm afraid. Used to be alot easier with the local DVLA offices but they're all shut now. I know someone who bought some last year and it did take around 6 weeks for everything. -
On the same fence as Rory but can understand the frustration of others. I do get the odd tyre kicker but mostly I get genuine buyers who can't come any other day due to work commitments and end up doing a deal if not two. It's been a quiet few days, came in nice and easy around 11 and customer was waiting to purchase a car. My mindset will probably change when I'm older and have a family / kids or if I get tired. Right now, I love working 7 days and making the most of every day.

We had the car for 8 months so just registered the logbook and then sold it to them.

What's The Biggest Profit You Have Made on a Car?
DHill replied to XFS's topic in General Dealer Chat
Most profit ever on a single car was £2400 but it was bittersweet as it came in December and the rest of the month was dead, so it only really paid the bills -
We always end up with one car in a year that will lose us a grand. Most recent was a Mazda 6 cost £3500, ended up selling it to wbac for £2400.

More towards the 2k mark!

That seems slow to me, our valeter does a full valet in around 4 hours tops but won't be able to finish a second car in the same day unless it's an emergency. He does a very good job too many customers comment on the quality of the valet. Edit: a really bad estate/4x4/mpv car will take a full day.

Can recommend AS Cars Cheshire for all Mazda related work. Brilliant bunch of guys and helped us out with many problematic diesel Mazdas. Having said that, we don't touch the things anymore.
-
If it shows 'Service Vehicle Soon' its not a service light, that's a general error message saying there's something wrong with the car. Get it on a machine. Could be a glow plug out from experience.
-
If car is in trade it usually comes within 2 weeks. If they can't get a response from the previous owner, they allow 6 weeks before sending a new one.
-
Similar story here, most of business done in first half of the month, second half was very quiet and enquiries non existent. Sold 2 today which is welcome, let's hope it carries on.
-
Brilliant start here aswell. Selling a car a day at the moment. 7 in 7 days.
-
Think we can top that, Grade 5 Renault Megane with poor previous repair on most panels bought from VW sale (don't know what a Renault was doing in a VW sale). There was absolutely nothing wrong with the paintwork, I've had grade 2s with worse paint. Needed no prep and made a very tidy profit.

Currently F30 BMW 330d in Estoril Blue with all the options. Beautiful drive, immense power and looks amazing! Usually get bored of cars very quickly but this one puts a smile on my face everytime I get in.

Mazda diesels have always given us issues. Vauxhalls are least reliable for us at the moment but do sell well. Honda Toyota most reliable by far.

We've been relatively lucky with comebacks until tonight. A car sold 4 months ago done over 2000 miles and he wants us to pay for 3 shock absorbers as main dealers have told him they have been gone 'a long time'. Luckily we had the car serviced and checked out before sale so we know everything was spot on. Some customers are ridiculous.
-
Still quiet on the enquiries front, not a soul to be seen on Saturday yet sold 4 on Sunday followed by a really good deal yesterday. On 10 for the month so where we should be but the phone hasn't rang at all since Friday.

No. They keep the assured fee and I have never tried to claim back transport/delivery costs as they were all bought at my local BCA branch.
