It’s your business mate and you can sell how you like. Personally I say I accept cards for a small deposit and it’s readies or bank transfer the rest. Hasn’t done me any harm so far.

Hi I work for blue motor finance so any questions you have please don’t hesitate to call me. I cover the south west but can also put you in touch with the correct reps for your region. We have no claw back as long as the customer has paid the first 3 months. We fund full VAT on any LCV, we pay the commission with the advance and do everything from prime to sub prime. Plus we are a direct lender and if you are a new customer you get a free iPad or iwatch within the first 3 months after the first 2 deals paid out then another for the next 4 so and and so forth up to 5 in total. We also do a lot more. I can also help you complete your fca for you if you don’t have one. You do have to be VAT registered though. Thanks Natalie 07849 832045

Close are prime. Blue do a soft search on the customers, so you can see what tier a customer is when you submit the customer details. 1-10 is there scale. 1-3 is prime and then it goes down accordingly. I have had a tier 9 paid out from blue. Very good company. I have sold 3 cars this month, all finance. 1 blue, 2 first response. I don't always get finance deals, some months it's very lean, but finance is a must. The FCA setup is fairly straightforward. It's crazy not to offer finance, I can see no benefit of not offering that facility.

No. The deal advance. So sale price less cash deposit (if they have some to put down). This is a great answer to the "Your last price for cash" brigade. Cash is costing us ££££ in lost finance commission so I don't have any price movement if you are a cash buyer.

Facebook has gone downhill, spend most of my time dodging plastic traders and in as much that they are easy to spot, I just wonder where all the genuine private sellers have gone to? We buy any car most likely lol... Avant looks decebt BTW Simon, I just hate towbars ha!

I would certainly like to know the judging criteria for this award, which auctions were considered and also who were the judges. In our area we have Manheim Washington for instance which was a CMA purpose built auction centre which has long since been neglected by Manheim.I would be interested to know how it faired with the judges. The overall result must be in doubt when you consider that the market leaders BCA appear to have blown Manheim ‘out of the water’ with their financial results. I was also interested to see ‘the most innovative product’ award winner Moto Novo for ‘find and fund my car’,need I say anymore.

You do! Not only because of the commissions they pay but also because offering finance makes some sales extremely easy, especially on dearer cars.

Update us with how you get on, I'm approaching this point now myself and really debating if I want to get involved with finance at all. Thanks

If the MotoNovo rep even returns your call it will be a pleasant surprise. Get in touch with Close Brothers, their reps are very helpful when setting up. I would put you in touch with my rep but you are not in his area.

I dont have a card machine, cash, cheque or BACS for me. Only taken one cheque this year, mostly its BACS sometime cash if its small amounts.

Yes it really is disgusting the way we get bullied into just accepting their prices. Were with Streamline, their reconciliation times have just increased by a day.... just to help our cash flow. With regards to cash... this is more evil in terms of charges for us. We are now pushing bank transfers.

As usual I agree with EPV. This is exactly what we do and hasn’t caused any issues.

I had to read it twice Each to there own and all that, for me it goes up for sale when its ready and not a second before, we just put awaiting finial preparation in the window on stuff awaiting to be done, I did have a trading standards comment a few years back about pricing stuff that wasnt ready for sale when they asked to see it.

Always state of charge faults, we give them a full charge to get them working and then give them back to the customer to show them what they are (not) missing. It’s a fifty fifty split at the moment between those that realise it’s a blessing the fact it’s not working and those that want a new battery. Ring 4 suppliers before ordering and always check the dealer. We got one half the price of euro from Renault a couple of weeks ago.
