Mikey360 68 Posted May 3, 2018 Evening all, Had a 2005 mini cooper s for sale for a few weeks now and I'm just not getting anything. Had one offer through gumtree and that's it. It's on Facebook, gumtree, eBay and autotrader. It's about in the middle on price, 12 months MOT, 66k, 2 owners. Are they just tough to shift? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mojo121 229 Posted May 3, 2018 They have to be the best in 50 miles in my experience as when people come to view they always have several to see. Had loads of interest in my last one but with the amount of viewers I ended up taking a reasonable bid (£150 off, discounted for short MOT) just to see the back of it. Yours sounds well advertised and right for owners etc ... try more photos, Mini owners are vain!

Got 20 odd photos and a video included, it's in reasonably good nick other than a tiny stone chip on the bonnet and a chip on the wind screen (repaired so cant see it that badly anymore), in dark silver with the black roof and black alloys so I would have thought it'd stand out nicely Edited May 3, 2018 by Mikey360
NOACROSS 414 Posted May 3, 2018 I used to be able to sell these, but seem to stick now. I’ve got a lovely 09 Cooper I’ve had months. I was wondering about it the other day. Is it because they change shape so often? Not trendy now?
Arfur Dealy 823 Posted May 3, 2018 That type of car buyer doesn't have any money...

True, it does seem like they get a sharper facelift every 6 months
grant8064 219 Posted May 3, 2018 We do really well with an older (read cheaper) Mini but I have to say we have always struggled with the Cooper S ones we've taken in chop. Insurance and high fuel/tax costs seem to scare all our punters away. Not helped by the fact we don't really do anything prestige or fast usually.
Mikey360 68 Posted May 3, 2018 Looks like I'm selling this one at cost to shift it on!

Can't you just keep going with it at the right money and wait for the right buyer? Change the pics, re valet, put out all the stops etc? Cooper S is a thing you need a lump in because something will go wrong with it

Full service history and drives without fault..... for now!

It's me 615 Posted May 3, 2018 i would take out the road tax co per kill the children high reference because a 13 year old car at £315 per year is a lot photos are really nice just dont buy another unless you want to specialise in the things get some fiestas in in nice colours
Grantlfc81 88 Posted May 3, 2018 We bought a bunch of mini’s but they really are hard to shift. There are SO many of them around my area that they really are 2 a penny - However if you have a mini parklane or a sought after one they sell pretty easily. i tend to stay away from them now as I never seem to make much money from them and they are always sitting around developing problems.

grant8064 219 Posted May 3, 2018 Looks nice and clean inside and well priced. Photographs in a public car park are a big no no for me and also the speedo image has lights showing (shut the bonnet and release the handbrake),

Noted for next time! Annoyingly my storage has a skip that's visible in every shot, went to Kirby hall thinking no one would be there so I wouldn't get any other cars in shot, sods law someone turns up to feed the peacock, and parks two spaces down from me, as I'm mid photo shoot! 26 minutes ago, chief runnin bee said: i would take out the road tax co per kill the children high reference because a 13 year old car at £315 per year is a lot photos are really nice just dont buy another unless you want to specialise in the things get some fiestas in in nice colours Noted, it is a high tax band! And I think the next few will be CRV's and 320d estates to get some cash flow

Ultimate colour combo in my opinion Now that you've said that, i do agree. Just doesn't look contrasting enough. Any tips on getting some better pictures without going mad in post editing?
