Arfur Dealy 823 Posted February 1, 2018 Diesel estates are my bread and butter, I’ve not noticed a drop off of sales, lots of buyers need an estate and they’re aren’t hardly any 10 year old petrols available. I’ve got a couple of average mileage Rav4s that I’ve not opened the door on, FTSH etc. I’ve carved the balls off the prices cos I’m sick of looking at them but to zero effect. Yet, 2 big p/x vehicles with an eyewatering 160Kish each flew out of the door in days, so quick that I bought in another 2 & they followed suit. All with proper profit across them. Rory RSC 596 Posted February 3, 2018 Used to do very well outof Rav4s all specs, any mileage petrol diesel no problem. Last few have just been sat around for ages. I think they have been quite expensive for a long time and are dropping back a bit, give it a couple of months and will end up being ok. I think guys on here were valuing it at £1200 ( probably right ),Anyway it cost £2175 inc the tip ,it was PDI’d ,valeted ,bit of paintwork then put on the pitch.It was sold in less than a week for £3250,so not much net profit,but it just proves how book prices are way out .This just emphasises you should not be frightened to pay way over for the right stuff.Our guys mostly do ex fleet and paying £1000 over Cap Clean has been quite normal for a while. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Book prices are a joke? I thought they were researched from all over the motor trade? I've mentioned this before but if the wholesale price rises so does the retail. Or at least down here in 'nutty' London? There is/was an assumption that a lot of guys were/are buying way too much for stock at 'the block' but not when you look at what they are being sold for on AT? Tear up the book at the moment?
