  1. Give me a shout I would buy anything like that from you if you can get hold of it. Thick skinned
  2. Generally does not happen because it is explained that using the warranty on the vehicle involves contacting us or the warranty company. No authorisation no payout. And no I wouldn't refund someone and pay their garage diagnostic bill who have ripped it to shreds as the offer of returning it to the place of purchase would have been made available. Every once in a while you will get a customer who tries it on, goes and gets work done and sends you a bill with no authorisation, communication or anything else. These customers are dealt with very firmly. Its all about arse covering in this job unfortunately, you should learn as you go along, we all do.
  3. No that was the Manheim Golf assured ones
  4. All week was painstaking and then friday grabbed some bargains. Just got to pick them up and see if they make it back now
  5. Some real characters in that place. Canteen always reminded me of prison
  6. Still not one lead, or sale from it. 3 months. If it fails to work I am out.
  7. Very hard going. I am on my lowest stock level in ages. I don't even so much think its just mental block prices, there still is not the volume coming through.
  8. Read the ask a car dealer anything thread on there and you will see how many people just hate car dealers
  9. Andy helps out do a lot of checking over on cars for me thankfully I tend to get the lucky ones
  10. Rotec Multisol perfect to get rid of overspray. Worth having a tin knocking about. I think that a decent dealer and decent bodyshop can have a good working relationship. We always have cars that need prep and can keep them going with some regular work. They make more off the general public who come in for a car park scuff and then they never see them again whereas we pay the overheads. Couple of traders jobs soon have your monthly costs / wages covered. I find a pack of biscuits, crate of beer etc every so often goes a little way towards showing we appreciate the good work they do.
  11. Used to do very well outof Rav4s all specs, any mileage petrol diesel no problem. Last few have just been sat around for ages. I think they have been quite expensive for a long time and are dropping back a bit, give it a couple of months and will end up being ok. Shame because they attract a good sort of buyer and you rarely if ever see them back.
  12. Diesels are fine here not really seeing any problems.
  13. 40+ month for us January has been a very good to me both for units and profit and I hope it continues. Been running low on stock throughout and feel we could have done much more. Hardly any finance deals done which is a shame as the bonus cheque always sweetens things up. Now lets hope buying becomes easier soon.
  14. I don't quite get this view - If I buy a car using a stocking loan I sure as hell need to be making money on the car otherwise I have stocking charges, auction fee and no profit. I don't think its a case of get a stocking loan, pay fortunes for everything, not sell anything for profit and make a loss on every car. Hardly bought anything cash / loan or otherwise this week. The stuff I shortlist is making crazy money and I have been quite restrained, I feel next week or so things will level out. Fingers crossed anyway. Very low on stock.
  15. +1 we used 4 bodyshops for a bit 3 spot on 1 always coming back covered in overspray and all our valeters hated the guy for this. We now use 3 and he goes round slagging us off to anyone that will listen
  16. Im pretty sure we are not tied in and I intend to give it 3 months if no joy sack it off.
  17. I have very often suspected this happens to us a lot. Very weird behaviour.
  18. It will be the norm soon. Reserve for a click and collect type scenario. Mr Dealy is ahead of his time with his business model.
  19. I would not even bother. One of the worst platforms in terms of return for me. Ebay and cargurus are both significantly better.
  20. The day it can all be done over email and the customers turn up to collect the car from a locked room accessing it via a pincode can't come quick enough for me
  21. I'm not we all start somewhere. I will also buy it if he wants rid as always do well with S3 models and have my work cut out buying this week I never registered for VAT until I needed to, learned along the way and started with a couple of cars. Turned out ok so far if you work hard enough.
  22. Will you take £9.5k for it today?
  23. 8 Sold today by 1pm - Out of nowhere
  24. Polarising Lens filter for the exterior shots, take off for interior. You can't just take pics with a DSLR and then upload and go like you would with say an iphone you do need to edit and tweak them via software. Quite a learning curve but the results are better when you stick with it.
