  2. Carried 2 over from April and one yesterday so 3 on.....happy with that....still awaiting first finance deal since being regulated....took a prop on Saturday....declined....even knee cap finance wouldn't take her on.....never mind onwards and upwards!!!
  3. On your webpage. All Cars Come With Standard 3 months warranty & can be upgraded at costumers cost.??? A small thing but gives customers the wrong impression.......in my opinion!
  4. Hi Mat Don't want to put a damper on things but I think your being a bit optimistic about up and running with the FCA in a month. I applied for mine on the 16th October 2015 and it came through on the 28th February 2016! Then another couple of weeks to get up and running with Close Brothers, so it was 5 months in total. Maybe mine was exception to the rule but it certainly won't be a month. All the best.
  5. I had a visit from the motors.co.uk rep yesterday asking if I had heard about the RAC joining them, so I would expect a visit if you are with the RAC. I actually sold my first car off RAC last week after 12 months of zero enquires. Never been on motors before but offering a 3 month deal, then can cancel if not happy, for £97 a month for 10 cars so thought I would give it ago, like a lot of people on here I stopped using autotrader regularly 12 months+ ago.
  6. My Motor Trade policy is due for renewal at the beginning of May, Ive been with them for 4 years+ and always take their renewal quote as it comes, no claims made, but Ive decided this year to shop around. Ive had a couple of flyers come through the post from Lexham Insurance and Direct Motor Trade Insurance so thought I would get a quote off them to get the ball rolling. Just wondering if anyone had a broker out there they could recommend. Thanks
  7. No problem Simon I will give you a call tomorrow when I get 5 minutes.
  8. Hi Simon Ive been using Next Gear for just over a year now. To be honest it was very expensive when I first started using it and I was going to kick into touch for 2016 but they have revised it now into a 3 tier system so if you buy a car up to £4k you are not paying the same set up fee as say a £7k car. They have a deal on at the minute if you buy your cars at Manheim, who I think part own them, which is they put you onto Premier account rates, so the assured fees and the online fees are slightly cheaper. They are also giving £35 off the buyers fees again via Manheim until the 30th June. All in all it works very well but you need to keep on top of the paperwork. The staff are very helpful and friendly. As with all these things you need to turn your stock quickly or if you sit on a car for 60 days+ it starts to get very expensive. My only gripe is the £80 + vat audit fee which they take monthly, although part of the new 2016 terms they will waiver this if you are using 70% of your facility on the last day of the month. If you want to have a chat about it let me know and Ill forward my mobile.
  9. Many Thanks Phil H. I will pass on this info to my mechanic and see how I get on from there. Much appreciated
  10. Good Evening Just wondering if I could pick your brains. Ive just taken in part exchange a nice (if there is such a thing) 2006 Fiat Panda 1.3 Diesel one private owner 39k miles with FSH. Good retail small car for my pitch or so I thought, (the car drove fine the day the customer called in for a valuation I went about a mile down the road listening for any noises etc) After he had collected his new car from me this morning I had to pop out for some parts and I thought I would give the Panda a good drive. Went approx. 6 miles, there was a huge misfire and the EML light came on and it went into a sort of limp mode. I whizzed it straight round to my auto electrician guy and after putting it on his diagnostic machine said it was showing a fault on the turbo? After going through the service history I see our local Fiat main dealer put a new EGR valve on it at only 29k. I don't want it to be a money pit so I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar problem with this model/engine and if so was it an easy fix Thanks in advance.
  11. Hi James, I give up on AT a good while ago although I do use the odd spot ad, 2 weeks online for £25, if I've got something a bit oddball or something that no one's opened the door on. My spend is now Ebay motors, my local free sheet, RAC (never had one enquiry yet but its free) and Gumtree. I would honestly recommend Gumtree, I thought when I signed up for a year contract it would be ideal for the cheap clean part exchanges. Not at all, just sold a nice low mileage Toyota Yaris Auto for £4500 from it to a woman 30+ mile away and last month a Kia Sorento for £4700 so it has a wider coverage than I thought and at a £100 + VAT a month its good value for money. You have to keep moving your listings to the top of the pile each day, but I do mine every morning at 7.15am whilst having my tea and toast!
  12. I use Next Gear for some stocking. I bring the car into stock as I would a normal car but mark it in my stock book as NG rather than PX, direct purchase etc. At the end of each month I do a stock list and highlight it in red the NG vehicles so my accountant can see which cars are on the plan. I have 3 columns in my cash book to split their transactions. 1. Next Gear Charges/interest 2. Auctions fees repaid 3. Next Gear Capital repaid. I've been using them since Feb this year and my bank charges have increased as they treat every line of the invoice as an individual direct debit, which as you know the banks love charging for! I'm not a qualified accountant but I did a book keeping course many years ago and I do all my own books/VAT returns etc so all my accountant does is pull them all together for my annual accountants. Give me a call I you want to discuss in more depth. Chris
  13. I always have my cars fully prepped before sale, mainly because you can allocate all your recon charges against the car. That way you know exactly how much margin you've got before you decide on overwrite or discount. Also it eradicates any noises/clunks on test drives, dirty oil etc. Also as you mentioned, a lot of customers who travel a fair distance, especially on a Saturday/Sunday, want to drive it away there and then. It does have the occasional downside I had a customer a couple of months ago who came to look at a 28k Super star 58 plate Toyota Yaris I had, for his elderly mother. I had advertised the car with 12 months MOT. On inspecting the paperwork he noticed that 4 weeks had expired since it was tested therefore its was not a full 12 months It had done 6 miles since it was MOT'd!!!. I had to pay for another MOT or he would of walked! Chris
  14. Yes absolute garbage....Lets hope the new SOGA doesn't catch up with the trader who bought that range rover, Im sure the guy who bought it said none of the doors locked...lol
