Audis here ... Having said that I still need to look into the last link you sent.
-
We have just sold one similar, it went for 6k, it was m sport with 99k no leather or nav. It took 3 days to sell. We have just sold an i8, that took 7 days which I was really surprised about.

Simple question how do you manage weekends, hours and time off etc.

Why bother ? The amount of cars without a dpf must be low in the grand scheme of things. I'm glad I buy petrol, although no doubt this will give the consumer another reason to reject a car as not fit for purpose

NEED A DMS PLEASE RECOMMEND SOME GOOD ONES
Steve92 replied to basildon car sales's topic in General Dealer Chat
We are using carvue, it's not ideal and is web based and a little slow but I think that's our internet. It serves a purpose, it won't check mot's but you can put warranties and mot dates in and run reports based on expires. You can try the free version too. it does seem to favour a garage for booking work than sales. -
VAT exemption for sale to disabled customers
Steve92 replied to GreenGiant's topic in General Dealer Chat
I thought the vat exemption only applied to a car that has been extensively modified for a disabled person and that it was down to the purchaser to ensure the vat eligibility. So I would have thought if car could be vat of exempt regardless of new or used then vat could be claimed. I did speak to hmrc once about vat and wheel chair converted vehicles but I don't think they knew themselves -
Changing service pack into new owners name
Steve92 replied to Marsellus Wallace's topic in General Dealer Chat
If the BMW/mini has a service pack then there is no need to transfer it, the pack goes with the car not the owner. -
Does the customer have a hearing loss ? We used to get through a number of clutches in pool cars because the drivers were deaf, they couldn't feel the clutch bite and slip the clutch too much turning it blue.
-
If you want to do it online then you need to register the car to the new keeper, once the new v5 comes through you can then allocate the private plate to the car.

Requirements when buying off the public?
Steve92 replied to grant8064's topic in General Dealer Chat
I flew to Aberdeen yesterday to buy a 335i from a private sale and then drove the 480 miles back -
We take £500 as a holding deposit which will keep the car 7 days, it's refundable if it's not as described. It stops the messers, I'd take the deposit, at least that way you have a better chance of getting the sale rather than losing 3 customers.

They eat coil packs and injectors, the last one we took in had just had 4 new injectors fitted by BMW under warranty, the one previous cost us 6 coil packs and a cam sensor. if it is as simple as a coil pack fit a genuine one, they are more expensive but they are better quality

Yep go with your gut although mine usually says feed me. -
My little fleet is .... 08 Corsa 1.2 with a slave cylinder on its way out, it's lasted a year though 10plate Mini Cooper s clubman i kept a 06 A4 2.0tfsi multitronic for the wife to get to the station 53 plate Audi TT roadster the corsa might being going soon to free up some driveway space but we have an 08 plate fiesta ST with a little scrape (scratch if you ask the customer) which I'm tempted to keep.

Tracing VW Service History - anyone got any contacts?
Steve92 replied to Ocsltd's topic in General Dealer Chat
Did you try VW customer service ? I know when we try and hunt down Audi history we try what we think is the local dealer and if all else fails we try customer services who then tell you the dealer then you call them. the information they hold covers a lot, from paintwork, servicing, warranties and even rubber washers around parking senors. bmw seem keen on getting you to ring the spec check number although the dealers can sometimes be helpful, Audi are usually very good but I did get a miserable one last week who quoted data protection last week (Colchester Audi) when all I wanted to know was had it been in for a service. -
I think we have 12 left the building with 3 ready to go (deposit taken) we tend to use the £5 hand car wash to get them washed and then finish them off ourselves as we don't have running water
-
We had that on a civic type r, however the owner put a deposit on our car and then had the type r fixed at his expense. I should have bought the car for me, 138k with a full Honda history, front end just painted and 4 brand new Bridgestone tyres it sold in less than 24 hours took a fiesta st with a small scratch in px yesterday, ....... I'll try and post the picture when I get around the file size thingy

NEW WEBSITE GONE LIVE THOUGHTS PLEASE
Steve92 replied to basildon car sales's topic in General Dealer Chat
By the time I realised I had gone past, then a transit doing 40 heading towards me on the path distracted me further -
Luckily we never heard back from him and we have taken a deposit from someone else. we have just taken some cash against an a3, however they were a genuine couple

Customers who don't want to pay main dealer prices but want main dealer warranties and a book of main dealer stamps with mother Theresa as the first owner.

I hate capitals, but that comes from working at a hard of hearing charity where capitals were seen as shouting. i drive by your site on Wednesday:) -
Thanks, that's my feeling too although ultimately it's someone else's decision. I'll already have to head to the bank on Monday to try and pay £6000 in Irish money into the account from the sale of a TT.
-
How would you handle it, I had someone call about a TT RS this morning. It's advertised at £25990 and they wanted to pay in cash, I questioned this as some people's definition of cash is not buying it on finance. but no they want to pay the whole amount in pound notes. Question is would you take it knowing the rules around accepting cash payments ? We would take the customer and the money to the bank and let them pay it in.
