  1. Thats all these local claim handling companies do. They just pass it on for a fee to a solicitor. And when you ask them for an update they are clueless. I much rather deal with third party insurer directly and notify own insurer for notification purposes only as they ask you a million questions 3 times over and then still try to blame you. By going through your own insurer / agent you're adding another party that the dialogue has to go through and you'll get replies like "we're waiting on third party insurer to come back to us" Last accident i was paid out in 3 weeks and had a hire car for 3 weeks like a couple of days after the accident. Unrecorded damage? They didn't go through insurer. Under table deal car sold on eBay. You hit me. I say give me 5grand we won't go through insurance. You've had accidents before you know your insurance will go in tens of thousands you accept deal. Unrecorded are generally under table deals with driver to driver. Perhaps it was a drug dealers car and he smashed it and flogged it. You'd be surprised if i told you how much a dealer can make a week... The little runner gets a £1000, middle man £5000+ higher man £15k+ and that's a week... They dont need the heat of insurers and police. A £10k car they will be happy with £3k on eBay as unrecorded. And my post and others' replies about underlying chassis damage explains the other question.
  2. Is this the basic AA check? I have clicked on the AA report a few times and it mentions very basic checks.
  3. What determines a car write off? Seriously? If you're dealing cars you should know this... Write off = beyond economic repair. An insurer will get legitmate new parts. So a brand new bumper then it will be painted by a reputable bodywork and the work is guaranteed for x years. Plus the cost of recovery/storage and hire car as Nick pointed out. So if you got a 3k car and its been in an accident it will likely be a write off. However if you had the accident and was paid out for the car you could buy the car back and get it fixed at a back street garage that way.
  4. How much does it cost with AA? And are they fast? I know rac and aa are piss slow as they use their own vehicles. Whereas green flag will send out a contractor which is by far quicker! On the new dumb motorways if you break down and you miss the lay by you will be screwed on a live lane by the time recovery come out and tow you
  5. Ooh yes please Called that number and auto voicemail said number no longer in use and gave 0117 945 2954 And when i rang that number they said they dont deal with Ageas but Avista. So your secretary has done a runner
  6. With a name like Dealer Auction - alarm bells should start ringing unless your bell (end) doesnt work
  7. Thanks. DA code is this the policy number? Passphrase how did you set this? Sorry to be a pain but when I use Ageas' own site it doesnt ask for these so am wondering how do you set these? Cheers
  8. Very well said. One idiot at Mesham tried telling me that its sold as seen. All commercials at Wolves and Manchester have photos of any damage. Yet this idiot said only vehicles with AA report will have such images. I said no they dont and the rule applies to all commericals across the board whether with AA report or not. She disputed it and said she will have it checked. I then told her sold as seen doesnt have a leg to stand on when damage was shown in photos that occured post sale. The BCA model is to make dodgy rules then have staff lower down say "its head office that make rules am just doing my job and i get shouted out" Sorry but that's not acceptable. We pay good money here. We expect a half decent service.
  9. Hi all finally got some insurance with Ageas. Their mid updates seem to be via their website. Tried inputting the login details to the easy mid app but says policy number incorrect. I would prefer the app than the website. Anyone else experienced something similar or have any experience with Ageas? Cheers
  10. I have been told proxy and online are the same thing and are chargeable. Yet commission bids are not. Proxy isnt commission. One idiot at bca said commissions are chargeable until i sent her a screenshot of their website showing membershit benefits. She then said head office never told us... Its always blame someone else at bca
  11. I told her clearly that in pictures something looks ok and i turn up on site and its dented or damaged how is it sold as seen yet the damage cannot be seen in photos? She had no answer. (Basically damage post photos / sale)
  12. I make that 5 years in total then as that's how long it lasts for..
  13. Auto corrected it Even BCA try to insist sold as seen i did tell them there is no such thing and if the condition has deteriorated since the photos are taken then sold as seen doesnt stand.
  14. Nottingham have used a large proportion of their visitor car park to park stock Some grade 3s in person seemed like grades 4 or 5. Bid online and you may well get stinged. Its all about their ££££
  15. DA Nothing but bad reviews on here You might have more luck bidding blind for UKGCGR No Reverse and Trade
  16. People like that i become weary of. Just the language tells me: Chav Rude effing this effing that Kick the tyre Spit Pull trousers up Hood or cap Talks loudly when there is no need Turn up with more chavs Recently we become somewhat cautious in showing such people any vehicles due to all the recent crimes that have taken place. Such people have this characteristic in their language that tells you that may randomly punch you or pull out a knife. I know some might say i am being over the top but from experience you know who are the naughty ones. Like someone said i much prefer the good morning types. "Good morning, err am querying about the JagUaar" (the way they say Jaguar and good morning you know its someone genuine, polite and somewhat decent" I have the corner shop type rule "one school kid allowed at a time" - but i rather have none
  17. I thought legal protection was to cover costs of legal fees? I do recall claiming the cost from one insurer provider for an increase for one reason or another years ago. This was on a private policy before i started trading. I have seen a document in my insurance folder on the pc. I will dig around more tomorrow and go back on my emails.
  18. Not really. Lets say renewal is £3000 and due to the non fault accident the same level of cover is £4200 there is an increase of £1200 My ncb not effected but the non fault accident does increase the cost
  19. I will try it. Ncb are nothing but a con. You're considered as a higher risk if you have had non fault accidents hence your price increases. My new provider has now asked to speak to my former insurer to confirm that they will not renew due to the non fault accident as it sounds dodgy. So i have to ask them to disclose my files now. Insurance needs to be looked at as the current system is not fit for purpose. I cannot and neither can any one else control another driver from driving into you. Yes you can drive defensively but that only works for vehicles infront and behind you (you can slow down/ move out the way etc). Vehicles parallel to you that just swing into you - you cannot do anything for. Yes you know what i been doing all day today - ringing insurance companies!
  20. Hi guys I have had insurance spike due to a non fault accident a few months ago. I have heard it might be possible to claim the difference from third party insurer as the increase is due to their drivers fault. Has anyone else ever done this?
  21. Is the engine light on? Cars are a mystery. A mate had a Civic 2.2cdti and he didn't close the fuel cap properly and air went in... It triggered the engine light! Saying that I have had issues where there has been no engine light or fault code but car been in limp doggy mode and this can be due to a small split in a pipe or a connector not fully on. Take it to a garage and let a proper mechanic look at it.
