Utter nonsense. Other brands are in a different world and they rely on the junkies and chavs. Those are the kind of people that earn fuck all or on benefits and get £800 per month spend £1000on an iphone £500 shoes £600 on handbag yet want a £300 car pay no rent and expect the landlord to do repairs because they thrash his house! Seen some of your other posts too and alarm bells ring... Jingle bell batman smells !

Removing speed limiter
ExCouncilJobsworth replied to ExCouncilJobsworth's topic in General Dealer Chat
Been into Ford today They told me this particular model / spec were produced as fuel efficient hence there is a speed limiter as well as a acceleration limiter...and it cannot be removed -
FB is a gimmick and time waste. Must be mad to waste £30k on advertising there. In the group selling pages and marketplace you get people asking for cars "£500 quid here cash need a good runner low mileage with MOT" They want something very underpriced practically for free and come with a lot of attitude So i dont know how any paid marketing will make a difference... If someone wants to spend good money on a car they'd go to the main platforms.

Yes but every one is different. My grandparents lived to 80s and 90s and my dad didnt even get to mid 50s... Genetics dont always play a huge part in longevity

The big elephant in the room is "retirement age" and pensions. People are too fussed on having an easy retirement...they live tightly now... Fact is you wont enjoy retirement because you will be limited due to shit health and health related problems. Retirement age is constantly increased and people dont understand retirement is just before death lol... And some people never make it to retirement anyway. Its not like you're going to live to 200... There is no wealth without health There can be health without wealth

Am I wrong if I only want to buy Auto gear?
ExCouncilJobsworth replied to Lucas's topic in General Dealer Chat
Cannot agree more. A recent grade 3 or 4 Civic was like a grade 5 yet the assessor couldn't agree at first. So i pointed out a few similar graded cars. Got my money back. 99% online for me and had a clutch issue with one and some body issues with few others partly due to my fault and not inspecting pics properly -
I wasn't talking about going wrong i was talking about comfort levels... Older cars do have shit heaters... And the cars dont get decent hot air (or even cold air in summer) I am all for being in a comfortable environment as often as possible rather than suffer in the shitty winter colds we have here...all just to save a few quid... Reminds me of a consultant we used to have at a council... On £800 per day for 20 months.... Yet he drove a shitty blue fiesta on a 09 or 11 plate. Funny thing was his heater was always on as there was an issue...and it was on full blast. He was 6ft 2 so driving a banger like that was uncomfortable. At least get yourself a Mondeo if not a Jag! He even used to moan that coffee onboard an easyjet flight costs a lot of money so he buys his at the airport..yeah you'd think with £800 per day he would go first class... Too many folks want to save every penny... Always had the motto "live a comfortable life in every aspect"
-
But dont you all hate the bangers when the heaters dont provide adequate heat or there is that smell coming from them... They're dying... And you're freezing your bollocks off... Come on admit it you all say "wish i came in a newer car"....
-
You give cars for free? I wont mind one. What I mean is if you do this then he'll get his mates to do the same... And when will you call it a day? As Arfur says stick your ground. Because if you dont know you will seem like a walk over

Citroen C1 1.0 3 Cylinder, help!
ExCouncilJobsworth replied to AutoJacob's topic in General Dealer Chat
Sounds like its been parked up for a while? Reset the light and take it for a good blast on local roads and dual carriageways. It might need a good run to clear the shit out of it lol And am talking a good 10 miles! The French shit does misfire I must say hence I stay away Alternatively it could be cheap / dodgy new parts that have gone in and this DOES happen especially from euro farts -

Never ask for confirmation over the phone guys If the same happens to you then you're fucked ALWAYS get it in writing so you have evidence and it is confirmed By all means ring up and say "I have sent you an email asking you to confirm account details can you reply now?" and generally most organisations will whilst you're on the phone! -

Ebay dont work for me. God even selling something small on eBay like a toy doesnt work anymore. People bid then dont pay message saying its wrong colour etc Had my time wasted with my cars on there on auction listing or with classified add the phone dont ring. Also have you sold your Jag x type? I had one in Sept at 87k miles on 06 sold in a day. Now i got an 08 with 125k with quilted leather fsh and the phone dont ring ?! I much rather invest in commercials they're hassle free. This is what i dont get. Main dealers get them as part exes from joe public though? -
Oh god. It was just an example. Am not saying all cheap cars are profitable!
-
Also you need to look at "invest and return" For example you can buy a car at 1500 sell for 2695 or buy something at 5500 and struggle to sell it and you sell it at 6495 months later. It doesnt mean the more you invest the more you will make. In fact you should be looking at buying the 1500 and buy a couple more with the 4000 left over rather than one at 5500...Lucas!

Nottingham and London. I do adhoc council work here and there as i get bored at home and this tends to be in London. But do these independents fetch good money i mean are the prices on fire like at BCA? -
This is why newbies should start off with low priced bangers. You dont lose out on much. In total i think i lost about £700 in total from 4 tatty cars out of 35 i sold in my first year. I stuck to sub £2500 for this very reason.

100% The hard bit is having a budget in mind. Then bid up to your maximum amount. You need to consider possible faults (parts plus labour costs), prep, MOT, advertising, auction fees, travel costs or delivery
-
You will have to be tough in business...otherwise you might get a buyer turn up offer you £8k for a car that you got on for £10k and end up paying you £8500... Yet the car cost you £8200... What's your background / ethnicity? I ask because you might be better off doing a business that serves your community and you will know the area quite well. For example a lot of Arabs and Asians have Sheesha / hooka bars. They dont cost much to open but it is a little hang out joint what some 20yr old can open with very little money and have a little profitable business. Sorry for being blunt but i rather be blunt and rude and you dont waste a lot of money. Remember its hard to earn money and its even harder to save money and the hardest of all is investing money and making profit! Hard - making it (gettting a job with good income) Harder - saving it (lots of tat people waste money on shoes handbags iphone X etc) Hardest - investing it with a return (invest in a dead business or dont know what you're doing you've paid tens of thousands in leases etc and you wasted it)

Hi guys I am wondering which auctions can i sell at? Dealer Auction sounds a pain generally and now there has been a fraud issue. So i would avoid them. I have spoken to BCA and they want an arm and a leg and they said it will be put through a non prime time sale. John Pye is a load of rubbish and never make enough money. Any others will be appreciated. Cheers

I might be wrong but either you're sarcastic and taking the piss on here or you're naive / limited IQ It's like me saying i want to open a restaurant yet i cannot flip burgers at McDonald's?!

Why have they got the 1960s system of sort codes and account numbers? They should have a pay by card system?! Could be a little runt at DA who changed it to his pals account... -
Have you sold any? No no no. My advice is trade from home first. I sell from home. It is very hard you will end up buying tat in your first year and potentially lose lots of money. I sell whatever I can. I have been stuck with a stock of 3 at home and haven't bought anymore. Auction prices are ridiculous and have been since Oct. I was made redundant at a council and was given a small payout which I have used some of it towards this venture. I do the adhoc council work here and there as the cars trade is difficult to do full time. If you have this £200k lying about. First of all pay your house off. If you have already done this you might be better to either 1) buy tatty properties and do them up and sell them or 2) buy 1 or 2 properties and rent them out. Property renovation is hard but if you can do the interior DIY yourself it helps. Buying to rent will atleast secure your money in a property or two and you can live off some rent! Might not be a big margin but at least your money is secure. The reason car trade is hard is because there are many factors you need to look at; mileage, age, colour, service history, location, potential expensive faults, common faults etc For example: a red Nissan Sunny might sell well in County Durham but you might have to pay someone to take it off you in Luton!

Lucas are you new to cars? If you are I would defo stay away from a long term lease. You will be tied in. You much rather getting a rolling lease for like a year. Yes Mr Landlord may kick you out after a year but you could renogitate a deal or move elsewhere. Main priority is running the business. It seems pricey as it is. It's easy to waste money in this game as it is with buying wrong stock let alone rents and leases.
