  1. The man has an appreciating classic on his hands
  2. Autotrader give average length of time to purchase a used vehicle at 6 weeks and over 12 hours looking!
  3. I've had a cracking start last week(9) but the week before was just the one. Not had a sniff on anything so far this week, the job really is all over the place!
  4. That's a fair drop, cheers Nick.
  5. Anyone know of any particularly good deals on card payment suppliers, currently with Worldpay with a fixed terminal, I pay £15/£20 a month for terminal, 0.71% debit cards and 1.31 for credit cards and 2.45% for business cards. Try to dissuade large transactions by getting people to use bank transfer but not always possible. Thank you
  6. I think that goes for many of us BHM, had a few lately that should have pissed out but took way too long to sell(Still managed good profit due to increasing the price after slashing them down in price). One thing for sure is don't overthink it, make sure the cars are right and they will go...some sooner than others!
  7. No point in being a busy fool but then again there is little point hanging on for 12 months just to say you've had 2grand on a car. The job is a balance and I always judge a car on its own. If I have a car of which there are plenty around(Fiesta, Corsa etc) then I will more than likely take a deal on it compared to something which is special and I will look to take a lump out of. I think that is the true beauty of this job, get a model that suits you and stick with it. I have had some quiet weeks of late and some busy weeks but I am down quite a bit on numbers from last year but profit is within a few hundred quid.
  8. I find Autotrader enquiries are generally better quality than the likes of Ebay, Gumtree, Gurus etc. I always respond to everything that comes through, also the younger generation do everything by messaging it seems.
  9. Thank you for the heads up David, hope you get it sorted.
  10. If it wasn't for being in the IMDA I would never have got the level of insurance for the money I paid, thank you IMDA.
  11. Sorry, I thought the ML broke down on the drive home?
  12. If it had 4 months MOT would you have tested it?
  13. Am I missing something here? Tony you are a professional car dealer who has been at the business for 10 years and you are advertising a vehicle with no warranty and admitting that you don't check part exchange vehicles as policy...….why not? You are fully allowed to sell vehicles with faults(Predisclosure), I do it all the time on older cars but I put a fresh MOT on them(Presumably you don't)and make sure all your paperwork is in order regarding a PDI sheets etc. You are leaving yourself wide open here mate, if a punter has a serious accident in a vehicle you have sold and you haven't provided due diligence you are fooked, is someone dies then you would probably face a manslaughter charge. I appreciate that you might have a bit of a twat on your hands here and the garage hasn't helped the situation either with the keys but it isn't worth risking IMO.
  14. What happens if you have spent a fair amount on prep? Are you just expected to swallow that by taking invoice price plus delivery?
  15. What are they claiming has gone wrong? You still have your right to inspect the vehicle, I would not let them get someone to look at it....get control of the situation and get the car. Should it be a rejectable issue you have to refund in full and give them either their px back or the value you gave them for it. Even if it isn't rejectable I usually just give them their money back to be honest, not worth the chew some people!
  16. I have had a good start to this month, let us see where it finishes though!! I did think that I would be happy with 10 or 12 but am nearly there so want to do a few more......never satisfied LOL
  17. You could but the game is a small place overall, c"""s tricks won't get you far for long IMO.
  18. They just give you an opinion and hopefully don't miss anything horrendous but remember they don't get to drive. I have done it for retailers many moons ago but it can be a bit tricky at times.
  19. I've had the pine tree air freshener but that takes the biscuit!!
  20. Be alright on the Volvo stuff(As long as the geartronic box is ok) Why did you give the pitch up Beechwood and go into something else?
  21. The way I look at it,If it isn't a big labour charge to fit and won't do any damage if it goes wrong then I would probably give them a go!
  22. 06 plate Passat with the shite 2.0 diesel engine? Good luck if you want to deal with that one!
  23. And he is through to the private section on here also, I might have to go through just to see what he posts
  24. He'll be okay on the autos!! Talk about being able to age a pic by the trees!!
